I went in there for a tattoo and the staff was very friendly but a week later the tattoo was almost completely gone. The ink had just gone away for some reason. I healed it like I was told but the ink never stayed. The price wasn't bad but if I'm getting a tattoo I'd rather it stay on my body. I didn't pay for a henna tattoo. I absolutely loved my experience at Sugar Shack!! From beginning to finish, Matt gave us excellent care!! We went in totally on impulse and felt like we were dealing with old friends! Even a week later as I have questions about healing, Matt has gone above and beyond with me! Mark (the owner) is a great guy as well..clearly very knowledgeable about tattoos and wants every customer completely satisfied. This is evidenced by him opening the shop on a Sunday to do a minor touch up! That's great customer service! And I can't forget Gavin that kept us in stitches the entire time with his crazy humor! Absolutely love this place amazing staff. I've had one and a half sleeves done. I am working on my entire chest as we speak. Have had 3 portraits that I could not be more pleased with one being my son. Matt is now working on my leg as well. Go elsewhere! The people were very nice that's not the issue I had, my problem is there is a lack of talent.. I had never heard of this place and I can see why now. I went in for a simple symmetrical compass on my forearm and what a got was a lopsided egg that I'm stuck with now. I walked into this place. And the first thing that hit me was, it looked more like a cross between an old surf shop, and a head shop. Very simalar to the shops o. The old Hill st. In the town of Oceanside where i grew up. As i was Talking to a friend the other day, it  made me want another tattoo. So I got in my car, and drove to the Sugar Shack. I'd never been there, but it's close to my home. I went there,  and I talked to a nice enough guy named Dallas, I told him what I wanted, and he asked me if I'd mind making an appointment for the next day. We agreed on something that I wanted Via text and pictures. I arrived a bit early, and realized I forgot to charge my phone. Dallas has a few different phones, and lent me the one for my phone. As I sat in the waiting room, I charged my phone, and listened to the banter between him and the other customers there. There was a lot of laughing and the other artist there would occasionally add his 2 cents. I thought to myself that this place was pretty cool. It was really clean, organized and friendly. I asked about a restroom,  and was told it was in the back. When I walked in. To my pleasant surprise it was immaculately clean. In my opinion a clean restroom is as important in a tattoo parlor as are the artists guns and rooms. So as I sat at ease that this place was clean, Dallas worked on the final details of my tattoo. After a couple of adjustments we agreed on the final rendering. I went back to his work area, and we started. This kid can't be more that 20 or 21 but his work is pretty good.He was able to give me exactly what it was that I wanted. It turned out to be really good work, and that even though it was in the top of my hand, it wasn't nearly as painful as I thought it would be. About an hour and a half later, my ink was done. After showing  a few of my friends my new work, they agreed that he did a really good job. I already know a couple of guys that have asked for an appointment with Dallas. I say, if you want some good artwork or you need a touch up, go see this kid. I'm positive with his skills, he or his partner will be able to hook you up. It looks like the Sugar Shack will be the place I go to to complete the sleeves on both arms. Read Less
