1001 Troubles is a premiere tattoo shop based in Warren RI. We are dedicated to original, custom tattoo art work. That means no tattoo flash. We are comprised of some of the best award-winning artists this side of the East Coast. Each of our artists is dedicated to excellence and has put in the hard work to prove it; we all hold degrees in Fine Art and are well versed in the illustrative design process. From concept to placement to finished product, we are dedicated to giving you a unique, artistic experience. It's our pleasure to host your visit!

Let me preface this review by saying I did NOT get a tattoo at 1001 troubles (yet) but that is why they are deserving of this review... Let me explain:I have a large scar covering nearly my whole right thigh, a scar I'm quite self conscious about, which led me to the decision to get a large tattoo to cover it. I have 4 small tattoos in more discrete areas so this would be my first large piece. I had a consultation with Fredd who was beyond thorough in gathering all my ideas for my tattoo. He spent around 45 minutes writing down my likes, dislikes, etc. regarding what I wanted for my piece. I felt super confident in his artistic abilities and booked my appointment a few months out in June. As the date of my appointment crept closer I got more and more hesitant about the idea of having such a large piece in such a visible area, but of course showed up to my appointment, eager to get over my fears and go for it. Fredd showed me his BEAUTIFUL design he came up with for me, that had the perfect combination of elements we talked about. While the design everything I could have hoped for, the size and placement was not, (which was only a result of my desire to hide my scar). Fredd and his wife at the desk could see I was unsure and he offered to stencil it so I could see what it looked like. After the stencil, (and another stencil) I just couldn't pull the trigger and Fredd gave me a week to think about it which was more than generous. The week passed and as much as I hate looking at my scar, I still couldn't picture myself with such a large piece front and center. I messaged Fredd and he accepted my decision gracefully and kindly. I felt terrible about wasting a 4+ hour appointment, as well as hours spent on consultation and design, but no one at 1001 made me feel guilty or embarrassed about it. They met my insecurity with warm reassurance I was making the right decision and an invitation to get a different tattoo when I was ready. (Which I will most definitely be doing) While I don't NOT suggest setting up a tattoo appointment if you are hesitant, I would suggest going with 1001 troubles if this is your first tattoo and you are nervous about the process. Nothing but kindness coming from these guys, not to mention their artists are extremely talented and the shop is immaculate. Thanks again for your kindness and professionalism!

My first visit here yesterday. I've been "collecting" tats for 30 years. Had a consult first a week before with Charity. Everyone here, from front desk to the several artists I spoke to, have been very friendly and helpful. Charity is a skilled artist with a steady hand and amazing down to earth personality. She added on to an existing tattoo I had, creating a tribute to a close friend who recently passed. I am very pleased with the finished product and my friends family were touched with the thoughtful memorial and the quality of the work. I highly recommend this business and the artists who work here

I had a really great experience at 1001 Troubles Tattoo. So much so, that I had to dig out my dusty YELP password to come and write a review.Everyone at 1001 Troubles Tattoo was professional, welcoming and very talented. I've been to other tattoo parlours where you're not even sure that they want to give you a tattoo. As soon as I walked into 1001 Troubles, I knew that everyone wanted to give me a tattoo I would love along with a really positive experience.I worked with the artist Dani Ryan who was fantastic. She incorporated everything I asked for into a beautiful tattoo. her line work is solid and she gave me a delicate yet bold tattoo of a bird in flight. She was super professional (like everyone I met) and I felt really relaxed the whole time even though I was getting a big tattoo on my ribs - ouch! She also fixed up a tattoo on my wrist which had been bothering me for awhile and made it look a lot better.Thanks to everyone at 1001 Troubles!

Mind-blowing, high-quality, award-winning tattoo artists. Each of the artists has specialties that covers all bases including color, black and grey, realistic, traditional, illustration, portraits, and stylized work. No matter what, expect an incredible attention to detail. They'll also do coverups/reworks/touch-ups for that one tattoo you regret or faded away.
All of the artists are highly professional and will work with you to get you exactly what you want. No BS, no shortcuts. These are trained, educated artists. They take their work seriously, and want you leaving with something you'll be proud to show off, so plan accordingly!

I chose 1001 Troubles for my first-ever tattoo, and I'm thrilled I did. Michelle was my artist, and she was patient, professional, and very pleasant throughout the discussion and revision of my design. My time in the chair was easy and enjoyable, and my experience exceeded all expectations. I don't think I could have asked for anything more, and I expect I'll be back for more work when I decide on my next design.

Great place!! I recently got a custom designed lotus mandala with Dani. I contacted the shop via email and booked a consultation. Had a consultation with Dani in the shop that was probably about 5 minutes told her my ideas and set up a Pinterest board with ideas before hand. I put a down payment of about $20 and booked a date for the appointment. I showed up about a week later and she had my design sketched out and I absolutely loved it. The appointment was about 3.5 hours in length. She filled in the design with shading. Dani is absolutely a genius. So talented and everyone at the shop is super friendly. I will definitely be returning for my next piece.

Phenomenal tattoo experience. The shop is clean, the artists are remarkably talented (and friendly), and every piece is custom. How does it get any better? Michelle did a tremendous job on my half sleeve. She has a light touch with a tattoo needle and is very sensitive to responding to a canvas' needs. Totally worth traveling 1.5 hours away for four sessions!

I got my first big tattoo at 1001 Troubles last night with Fredd. The whole process was great. I had previously gone to a consultation at another studio and felt rushed and like the person was annoyed with me. Totally different experience here. Fredd took his time and really talked me through what I was looking for in this tattoo. He was so nice and friendly and understanding. So great to work with from the beginning. Last night I went in for my tattoo, and I am beyond happy with the finished piece. It is so gorgeous. More beautiful than I imagined it would be. Fredd took what I told him and did an amazing job turning it into a beautiful piece of art. He is very talented artist and I will definitely be going back and recommending to all of my friends!

I had Michelle do both my tattoos and a piece of art. She made my experience as a noob really great. Michelle has done tattoos for 3 of my friends and family and they are happy with her as well. The shop does great work with color and design, it's a great shop to visit. If you're looking to get tattooed I can't suggest this shop enoigh.

You can really go anywhere to get a tattoo, but if you want art, you go to 1001 Troubles.

I was excited to get a chest piece done there by Thomas Harris. I had to reschedule once due to travel & the second scheduled appointment had to be canceled due to a snow storm. Thomas called me befor...
I was excited to get a chest piece done there by Thomas Harris. I had to reschedule once due to travel & the second scheduled appointment had to be canceled due to a snow storm. Thomas called me before I could call him and he said he would call me a week later to reschedule. I told him that was fine and it was for the better because I was traveling. I never got a call back and ended up going in to talk to him. He told me that I lost my deposit due to the fact that I was traveling. Even though there was a huge snow storm and he had to cancel anyway. I don't understand how I lost my deposit for not being available when there were other factors that had to cancel the appointment anyway. So I will not be going back there, ever. Terrible customer service.

Michelle was my artist, and she was patient, professional, and very pleasant throughout the discussion and revision of my design. My time in the chair was easy and enjoyable, and my experience exceeded all expectations. I don't think I could have asked for anything more, and I expect I'll be back for more work when I decide on my next design.

Fredd took his time and really talked me through what I was looking for in this tattoo. He was so nice and friendly and understanding. So great to work with from the beginning. Last night I went in for my tattoo, and I am beyond happy with the finished piece. It is so gorgeous. More beautiful than I imagined it would be.
