I can’t say enough about the experience I had at Double Deez. I spent hours upon hours researching shops in southeast PA, Philly, Delaware etc and decided to go with Double Deez because of the realism and quality in their work. I chose Jason Nicholson because of his work with the military and the detail he put into his tattoos. Jason took my ideas and did an awesome job of explaining the strong points and drawbacks to what I had in mind. In the end - I trusted his viewpoints as the artist and I am incredibly happy that I did. The tattoo looks amazing, is incredibly realistic and I couldn’t be more satisfied. On top of all that, this was my first tattoo and the experience itself was awesome. Both Jason and Mike were a lot of fun to be around which calmed my nerves about getting the work done. Can’t reccomend these guys enough! Shop was clean but didn’t feel stiff like a doctors office, everyone was very accommodating to my anxious first timer ramblings. The artists are quite good, no problem there, but I had a gift card for a pretty significant amount ($100). The card was 2 years old and the front desk person refused to accept it. There was no expiration date on the card and no mention of an expiration date when it was purchased. So basically they now have $100 they didn't earn. The woman was borderline rude as well. Went there for Friday the 13th and got a ballin tattoo for a great price. The best part about the shop is the friendly staff. I think I smiled and laughed the whole time. This was my first tattoo in about 6 years and my first with John Black. I've wanted to get him to tattoo me for 10 years. The shop itself is smallish but very organized and clean. John is very polite and professional. Everyone else who I spoke with was polite and professional as well. John explained everything he was doing as he did it. He gave me some suggestions as an artist and It got me really excited to work with him. During the consultation, he showed me his design, and we tweaked it a little to my specifications.
