I scheduled my appt 3 month in advance with Joe. (He is the guy that was on the tv show Ink Master Angels and did that amazing geometric piece on my husband's leg!) The other artists Chris and Heather were cranking out some awesome pieces as well!So anyway, I sent pics of what I had in mind to cover up a 21 year old tattoo and he created the most beautiful piece that I could have imagined. He listened to what I wanted and the meaning behind it and gave me a great cover up. We had a good conversation over the 4 hours I was there about family, work, growing up and music. All around a nice guy. My husband and I will both be back for more ink. I'll also add that it is a 4 hour drive and hotel stay for us to go to Verona and worth every cent. American tattoo makes you feel at home, everyones an amazing artist, i have been going there for years. Piercings with Anthony top quality jewelry, clean, and knows what he is doing. I started a sleeve with Heather, and she has been nothing but amazing with the full design. I gave her creative control and each piece has out did the last. About half done now. I made my apt. 5 months in advance for 11-26-2016 @ 1:00pm. it was a very important date and time.My dog passed away 1 year to the day.I was contacted an hour before my appointment to be informed it would be delayed until 2:00pm which i was fine with.Then After arriving I was Made to wait another half hour. Apparently punctuality doesn't matter to them. I will never use their services or recommend them to anyone. Now I have to wait another year to commemorate his memory.The whole experience was a complete lack of respect. Then at 2:50 I receive a call asking why I left, and that I should have notified them (as if it was my fault) . I assure you if I wanted a 1000$ sleeve I would have received much better treatment, but because i Wanted a small 100$ Tattoo it wasnt important enough to maintain punctuality! Got a memorial tattoo of my dog Nero done by Heather Scherrah, and the detail is amazing. It's an all black tattoo but even from a distance it's easy to know its a dog. Even after the peeling, it didn't lighten up or lose any lines or "chunks" . It's better than my other tattoo I have. Everyone was professional while still having fun and getting along with each other. It was relaxed feeling and clean place. I am working on getting my sleeve worked on here. I drive about 1 hour and 45 minutes each way to get here. I have Matt Miller and Chris Blick working on my arm. They are rocking. It is $100 an hour and they work fast. People are blown away that my octopus only cost me $250 and they paid $500+ for something less detailed and half the size. Read Less

I had a cover-up tattoo done and I had been to several shops before I found American. Nobody seemed confident enuff in themselves to do the cover-up I wanted. When I entered American, I spoke to the big guy with the dreds. (I can't remember his name) When I asked him if he could do a certain tattoo~WITHOUT ANY HESITATION~he said I can do anything! They're all talk. The work is average, the portfolios are average. The prcies ARE reasonable, but good luck getting an appointment. If you want to get a big piece done, call them they're happy to take your money. But people who want anything less than a sleeve will have to call and beg to set up appointments, especially thanks to Santos, and nothing will ever come of it with blown-off phone calls (calling the morning of or the night before and saying 'I can squeeze you in' does NOT count or make the client feel comfortable.').
