Although their prices are a bit on the higher side for everything, I am willing to pay a little bit more to ensure good and sanitary work is done, which is exactly what you get here at Marc's. I got a tattoo by Tomas and love it! Also got my monroe pierced by Chris and haven't had any problems. :) Only reason I gave it three stars is BC neither my boyfriend nor I were impressed by Scotty too much. My bf got our sons name tattooed on his chest(that one was nice) but also got a 45 adapter on his hand and it was not symmetrical at all and the circle in the middle wasn't evenly round. Read Less

Went in a few weeks ago to get a tattoo on a Friday afternoon.  Made an appointment for Saturday afternoon at 1pm and showed up on time.  Was told on Friday to pay the deposit which was $20...I paid for the entire tattoo which was $50 total.  I paid for the entire tattoo as a good faith measure.  Went back the next day and "Scotty" placed the stencil on my arm and I did not like it and to his credit, he agreed that it did not look right.  I decided to go home and think about it.  After a few weeks of thinking I decided not to get any tattoo.  Went back to get the balance of the $50 which I paid for the entire tattoo ($30) and was told that I did not get any money back as the entire $50 was considered the deposit.  What I should have done was just paid the $20 deposit in the first place.  If the $30 extra that they got out of me is worth it to them then they can keep it.  Nonetheless, in my opinion "that's bad business"...When 3 people at the front counter make a statement to me like "the artists time is money" ...I question whether or not they understand that the customers time is money as well.  I assume that the work done at Marc's Tattooing is fine work but they're policies and customer service leave little to be desired!  If you're thinking about getting a tattoo don't pay anything more than the deposit because if you decide to not do it, you're not getting your money back and your time is worth nothing to them! I had an idea of what tattoo I wanted and where, but I was very hesitant and went back and forth a bunch of times before committing. Andrew was incredibly patient with me and my nerves. I felt no pressure whatsoever to follow through even though he'd spent time working on a design and altering it with me. I ultimately committed because I felt so comfortable. Credit must be given where credit is due and I'm all about supporting local businesses. If your getting any piercings Chris is the guy to get it done...He always goes above and beyond for me and is very on point with sterilization. Last night my husband and I walked into Marc's Tattooing in Dickson City hoping to talk to an artist about getting tattoos. It was evident when we walked in that we would not be properly helped. First, we were not greeted--just stared at--until I said "hello, we would like to talk to someone about getting tattoos." The girl behind the desk then looked at us puzzled as if she wasn't sure why we would ask such a thing even though we were in a tattoo shop. She then asked if we ...knew what we wanted and I said "roman numerals" and the location to which she replied (annoyed) "do you know how to write the numbers in Roman numerals?....write them down". I thought that was odd, but wrote them down anyway. Then when my husband asked her about the different fonts that they could be written in, she was aggravated that he didn't already do his own research, stating "usually when people come in here they already know what they want". Isn't it her job to help unsure customers perfect the designs for what they want? So, we were offended by that but still tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. Finally she gave us a price, which was extremely high for the size and simple text that we wanted. I have received colored tattoos with ample detail for less than the price she gave us, so I knew that she was quoting us too high because she had something against us. When I questioned the cost, she sarcastically replied with "oh I didn't realize that you were a tattoo artist." Up until this point, I was trying to be nice--something she NEVER was. That's when I lost my patience and when she lost our business. I will never step foot in this unprofessional shop or deal with that ignorant "artist" again and will make sure that others know of how disappointed and disgusted I was with her. I got my first tattoo here. I made an appointment with Shelly a week or so in advance. When i came in for my appointment, Shelly told me she just got done with a sleeve she had been working on for a few hours and was too tired to tattoo me. (mind you the tattoo i got is a yin yang a bit bigger than a quarter). So, i ended up having Scotty instead. He was very nice, and i thought there were no problems. After the yin yang healed, the ink bled out a little so the black circle is way bigger than the white one. It's very asymmetrical & bugs me a lot- since its permanently on my body. I got my arm tattoo done by Scott and it turned out absolutely amazing! This shop is clean and the staff is really nice. This was tattoo number 6 for me and the first one done in PA, so new state and new tattoo shop. I have been going to Marc's for a long time now. They are the only shop I trust with my piercings. I have known Kat for a number of years and have been pierced by her a number of times as well. She is incredibly professional, patient, and experienced in piercing. Recently, I saw her to remove a few dermals I had put in roughly four years ago. They were still in really good, so Kat took her time and explained everything she was going to do and the healing process as well. I strongly recommend Marc's for your piercing needs as well as tattoos! Their artists are all very talented. I'll be back soon for a piercing once the dermals that were removed heal up. Read Less

Cant even give them a review thats how much of a joke this place is . Out of 6 appoiments i had here ONE actually went threw and i loved my work done by Steve R. Before i had gotten that done they cancelled my appoiment and said " we have been trying to reach you" well that was their excuse the next four times as well !!! How is it every time they try to call i never got any phone calls then i ask what # they have just incase it could be wrong nd they had it right ... They are rude , terrible costumer service and smart a$$'sThen i tell them i want to be refunded my money for my deposit i HAD to pay to make the appoiment nd they tell me i have to wait for the shop manager tuesday he will be in !!!
