I have been going to Altered Ego Studios since around Sept of 2012. Brandi was recommended by a friend. Before that I had two tattoos done at another studio and they were horrible. Brandi covered one up which eventually turned into a sleeve and had to color the other one in because it faded terribly in a short time. I have since had 16 tattoos done by Brandi. That should speak volumes about her work. I was there yesterday, June 2, and got two more tattoos, number 15 and 16. Brandi and Rachael are the best. June 2016- I've been going to this shop for a year now so I decided to update my review since I know Brandi better. If you want a tattoo go where ever you want. If you want a fantastic piece of ink from an artist who lives to tattoo, go here! I have had 5 sessions at this point for 3 different tattoos. Brandi knows her stuff. She isn't one of those artists that excels in a single style. She can do just about what ever you want in a range of styles. She will not talk you into ...what works for her...she helps you with what works best for you and what you want. I thought I was asking her for way too much in a half sleeve I have been working on for my mom. She gave me everything I asked for and more! And there is still room to add on more stuff to really fill it in. I truly have a fun time when I am in the shop. Her apprentice Rachael, myself and Brandi laugh constantly through my sitting. It makes 5 hours feel like 2. I love going here and will not go anywhere else. These two make sure you are comfortable and happy before starting. A bonus touch is Brandi does not have a heavy hand. Getting ink isn't getting butterfly kisses but it is awesome when an artist really knows their guns and how to work with your skin, not dig thru it. If you are tired of how you are sitting or too hot or cold, she will make sure you are comfy and change what she needs to. And I can't forget to tell you about her 'magic plastic'. I don't know what it is exactly but it's a clear film that sticks to your skin and covers your new ink for 24 hours. Then you get to take it off. It causes your new ink to be the best healing and least itchy ink you've ever had, with very little scabbing, which leads to what? Less touch ups after its healed. I have 4 other tattoos from 3 different shops, and never had this 'magic plastic' used on me. Lots of scabbing and itchiness during healing from those pieces!
