After much deliberation and research, I chose to go to Gypsy for my first tattoo at a Pittsburgh shop (recently moved from an hour east of Pittsburgh). Kate was highly recommended by one of the bartenders at Hop Farm (props to them too, because they rock as well). As is typical with scheduling a tattoo, they scheduled me about 6 weeks out. Nothing I was surprised by. Well, it was worth the wait. Kate did an excellent job! She spent a lot of time with me discussing fonts and placement. It was more of a collaboration, which I very much appreciated. She worked quick, efficiently, with good attention to detail. Her lines were spot on. The other artist in the shop was also friendly. I felt comfortable and at ease being in the shop. The other artist, Laura, I believe, had just completed a woman's first ever tattoo while I was there. It was the cutest thing, and matched the girl's personality perfectly. As for the shop itself, its clean, well maintained, and the tattoo areas are very private. Oh, and to the best of my knowledge, they have a flat rate per hour ($120 - or at least that's what I was told when I scheduled). I'm assuming, though, that doesn't include extras, intricate artwork, or new drawings and changes. So, don't quote me on the pricing. I can say that Kate's final price fit perfectly into my budget, and stuck to what I was quoted when I scheduled. Thanks for doing such great work Kate! I will be back. Read Less
