Prior to driving all the way to this tattoo parlor, that we picked based off of the reviews, we called twice and no one answered.  When we arrived there were three guys working, two of whom were doing nothing.  The man working said he could help us in a few hours and the other two refused to help us, probably because we only wanted a small tattoo.  Thanks for nothing...we don't not recommend this establishment! Here's the deal.  I think that the guys in this shop do GREAT work - especially Johnny.  He is exceptionally talented.  My gripe is this.  They charge you tax on a service that you are paying cash for.  No other shop does this and you aren't supposed to charge tax on as service, only goods.  If I were using a credit card and the shop had to pay taxes to the credit card people, I would understand.  But I paid cash (and alot of it) for a tattoo that I do love, but I have to admit that the entire experience was overpriced.  Again, the work that they do is wonderful, but this is a huge issue for me going back or referring people. This shop is a well deserved 5 Stars!!! I can't say enough good things about this place! I was pretty nervous because I received my first tattoo, but I couldn't be happier. I've been getting tattoos done by Mister Rong for years (since they've opened the shop in South Jersey to the current one now) just finished another session to add onto my sleeve and I love it. He's done all the pieces I have on my body (chest and right arm) and I can honestly say I will only go to him for a tattoo. If giving this place 0 stars was possible- I would. I got tattooed more than a year ago by Matt. My whole family had appointments with him for a certain time and ended up taking other people right in our appointment time causing us to wait hours extra. I got a lung cancer ribbon on my rib that is crooked and just overall not that neat. While having the tattoo done I asked to take a short break bc it was hurting really badly and I needed to use the restroom, Matt proceeded to tell me no and basically held me down when I tried to sit up. Ridiculous and unprofessional! I was supposed to go back a few weeks later to have flowers and butterflies to the piece but ended up going to a different shop and different artist where I had a MUCH BETTER experience. I do not recommend this place or this artist. There are so many better options out there! Read Less

Place and everyone is amazing, but I got ripped off for a tattoo on the back of my neck, not only that, it wasn't straight. Paid $216 for small tattoo on the back of the neck with numbers, but the tattoo wasn't like Crazy or anything, just straight lines going down. You know, I really did like this shop for a while because they have good artists and a friendly atmosphere, up until I started getting tattooed by MATT G. Heads up people, never pay  in full ahead of time! I paid over $2500 for my back piece and leg to be finished up front because I was getting a "better deal" for paying in full. I paid this payment LAST October of 2015. It is now November 2016 and my pieces are still not finished. Every time I would go in to get work done Matt would have me waiting over 2 hours as he worked on other people and soaked up my time and then would tattoo me for an hour and send me on my way. That's when he actually followed through with my appointments. About half the time he would text me an hour before my appointment and tell me he needs to reschedule. Yes, an hour before.  After my maybe 8th visit which was supposed to be my FINAL appointment, Matt said he "wrapped" up my leg and back. The indian face I have on my leg he pretty much bloodlined the feathers and left them with absolutely no detail and my back was half shaded. Matt also made an appointment November 9th, today, with me after I told him how i felt about that half assed work from last session. When I texted him about coming in for this session 3 days ago I got no response which doesn't surprise me. Why would he do this you ask? Because Matt had been payed a year previous to these appointments so since I was already payed, I was the least important client to him because he'd already been paid and spent that money. It's a joke that you can have someone run a shop so unprofessional like this, he is a thief. I will NEVER  get tattooed at this shop again, despite the money they still owe me. I will take my business to Empire Tattoo, yeah theyre a little more expensive but they're a million times better, and most import THEY'RE PROFESSIONALS. Read Less

How anyone can leave a bad review about this place, ESPECIALLY about Chris is beyond me. I have tattoos by both Dan and Chris and they're incredible. They're nothing but nice and responsive. Totally sensitive to what you want and out of this world talented. Chris gave me an incredible, colorful thigh tattoo that I'm obsessed with but also fixed a tattoo that I had done by a world renowned artist that is on TV. I went to get a tattoo that was planned months in advance. I paid a $100 deposit because the artist Matt said he could do my tattoo. I wanted my tattoo exactly like the picture that I sent  him. He claimed he can do it. Once I got there I had to wait almost an hour and a half because he claimed a client came in late prior to me arriving. Matt showed me his book and the butterfly that he created on someone else. I kept telling him I want what's in the picture I showed him. He put the stencil on me(honestly you can't tell from a stencil how it's going to turn out. When the job was done it dud not look like the picture. It look like armature night on my back. I absolutely hate it. After the fact I emailed him to let him know and he had a nerve to say it's bad etiquette to copy a picture. Now I will have to pay to get it off. First time here at Omkara. Met with Conrad regarding a vague tattoo idea. I knew I wanted Buddah, outside of that, no ideas. Conrad designed a PERFECT tattoo for me. I could not have asked for more. The shop is clean, friendly, and totally professional. I was nervous, as the tatoo was going on my arm for the whole wold to see. And let me tell you, I am so IN LOVE with this tat. Conrad is a great artist. I came to him with a weird idea for a knee tattoo. And he took that and ran with it. Both of my knees are now covered with his art. This is my shop to go to, he is my artist to go to. Unless he says over wise and directs me to a better candidate in the shop. Read Less

I set up a tattoo and keep in contact with the artist on a consistent basis. When I arrived on the tattoo date someone was already getting a tattoo and the artist acted like he never met me and had no clue I had an appointment. Make sure you get a copy of the receipt or I'm pretty sure you will  not get your deposit back. Artists are great but business practices are that of a children's lemonade stand. DO NOT GET A TATTOO FROM HERE! I got a tattoo from here they it is absolutely awful. The place was clean overall but my tattoo is horrendous. I went to someone named Chris , he smeared the black ink from my tattoo all over my arm which now looks like a big permanent bruise. After a week or two realizing the black ink wasn't going to go away, I called Chris to see if he could fix it and he NEVER answered or returned my calls. The shop is very clean and up-kept, all the artists are very professional, aura of the shop wasn't overwhelming for first time tattooers if thats your scenario. Conrad my tattoo artist was very humble, knew what he was doing, very helpful gave me his artistic point of view on things and brought my ideas to life (I have multiple tattoos from Conrad). I did not get a tattoo here.  I went to talk to a tattoo artist to get an estimate and to make an appointment for the next day.  I browsed through the pictures of tattoos they had on their website and picked some font lettering I really liked and showed it to Chris.  Chris looked at the picture and said it looks like a simple computer font.  It would have been my first tattoo and I was iffy about this guy ( based on his lack of professionalism) so I asked him if he was referring to a font in Microsoft word...Because I had been through all those fonts and did not see that one.  He said no but they have the font in their computer.  I had asked if he was going to print up what i wanted right then to show me so the next day we can just get started he said not necessary.  We wanted to make an appt for 530p and he suggested that 6 would be better for him...no biggie.  I had sent him a text message of the song lyrics i wanted and since i still had his number and had my doubts that he would get the font right...I sent him the picture i found from the omkara website.Next day 6pm I show up and he's not even in the shop.  He walks into the shop shortly after 6 with a bag and says have a seat i'm just gonna eat first.  I see him running around at some point and realize that he is JUST NOW typing in what i wanted on the computer and prints it and shows it to me...it was obvious to me that that was not the font from the picture.  Even though i said that he said it was.  I take out the picture i had sent him the day before and told him it was different and physically showed him that the letters were showing up differently.  He tells me that he's going to type up the words from the picture and maybe it will come out the same...WHA?!@#  Don't know how that would happen but ok?  He prints it out and it obviously didn't magically change into a different font but he continues to say..."see?  virtually the same."  REALLY THOUGH?  I said no its not and then asked me why i wanted that particular font...UGH!  I pretty much left after that.  CHRIS FROM OMKARANO PROFESSIONALISMNO CONSIDERATIONRUDENO EXPERIENCEI have heard great things about some of the other artists there...This review is solely on CHRIS! I Came to Daniel Shernoff at omkara Knowing I wanted a chest peace. I gave Dan the two most broad guidelines and he made it work exactly how I wanted it. He was easy to work with when I wanted to change a few things no problem. He was willing to sit down for 8 straight hours to do it in all one shot. If someone asked me who I knew that loved their job more then anything else it would be him. I was extremely satisfied with my work and plan on going back for the rest of my tattoos! Read Less

I love my tattoo design drawn by Chris R.  Unfortunately he never informed me he was only an apprentice and hasn't been tattooing for that long. The tattoo proves this further, it blew out and has raised scarring. A simple black line tattoo that any experienced artist could have completed no problem... Now I am left wit a blown out and scarred tattoo. Not to mention I was extremely over charged, $140 for a piece that has no color, shading, and isn't much bigger than a business card... I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who wants a quality tattoo done. Read Less
