I cannot speak highly enough of Becky! I've never felt so comfortable before, during, and after getting tattooed. Becky is a phenomenal artist and also a great person. I will not give names because I don't believe in throwing someone personally under the bus so I will just give you an honest account of my experience today.I asked to have two tattoo's done. The first being four consecutive black dots and the second, an extremely small and simple tattoo of the word loyalty on opposing arms. During the first session another artist walked over and in a condescending tone says "hmm 4 circles" as to question why I'd ever get it done, which is truly none of their business. Ok, no problem! After the second session was complete, the artist doing the tattoo on me laughed to themselves out loud which in all honesty made me feel like crap. Oh but it doesn't end there, the artist then took a picture of my admittedly really simple tattoo without asking. By the way the artists were smiling at each other it was clear to me that the picture was for their own amusement. I told the artist to delete the picture and that I didn't appreciate it. Both artists then turned their arrogant tone right side up and began pretending that they were impressed by how difficult the line work was. Oh give me a break! I've had enough tattoos done to know what a simple one is and looks like!Other than being treated like a fool, the tattoos turned out just fine. It's a shame, I wanted to like this place, but the atmosphere and overall experience was a little too unsettling for me. Read Less

Eric and Alyssa are both amazing people and artists. Eric tattooed my arm over the course of 1.5 years or so? I always looked forward to the visits for his company and to see what incredibly detailed thing he was about to put onto my arm.. Alyssa is a great person and puts out amazing work and i received a small piece on my leg from her years back when we were better friends and i still lived in the city. I wish i never moved away i have more work i need done but the only people i want to tattoo me are all back in Philadelphia and i miss them all. Read Less

The Electric Temple is by far one of the nicest shops I've been to. The atmosphere is relaxing, and every artist is down to earth and welcoming. Favorite tattoo shop in Philly! I've been tattooed here several times by Bryan Holland, the shop is super clean, pleasant and relaxing and is the perfect environment to get tattooed in. I've been tattooed at a number of places all over the country and all over Philly and it's the most comfortable place to get tattooed at from my experience. I can't say enough good things about this shop or the artists who work here. My artist, Bryan, was extremely down to earth, detail-oriented, and easy to talk to. He made sure that my tattoo (a solid band of flowers encircling my arm) was completely in alignment with the curvature of my arm, re-drawing lines and re-arranging the stencil where needed before beginning. You can tell that each tattoo is a labor of love for these guys, and for me, that's what separates an artist from someone who is merely doing their job. I also learned that the studio was transformed into a sacred, meditative space (calming music, a mandala adorning the ceiling, and lots of reclaimed furniture and hardware greet you when you walk in) from an empty space. I went there this last Sunday and was tattooed by Alyssa. She did fantastic work that was also affordable. This place wont break your bank! The shop is set up very cool and everyone there is very nice and helpful! Ya know how you enter most tattoo shops and no one looks up until you've stood there for a few minutes? Well the staff here is more than happy to look up and greet anyone who comes in even while working! I appreciate a friendly comfortable environment such as this! They were kind and helpful to people just stopping in with little to no intention of getting anything done. It's not a "too cool" kinda shop. This was a full "experience". Going into the tattoo, Eric's talent is so apparent in his work I had full faith the product would come out perfect. It did. With that kind of confidence, you can relax and enjoy the rest of the experience, from incense burning to unique, cultured aesthetic riddling every nook and cranny of the shop. I got my knee tattooed here by Bryan Holland recently.  I have had my other knee tattooed and know how it can be a uncomfortable time sitting.  Luckily because this tattoo shop has such a good and relaxed vibe and because Bryan Holland knows what he's doing, it was not uncomfortable at all and was done quickly.  Bryan Holland custom drew the Dia de Los Muertos Sugar Skull up for me and it's honestly my favorite tattoo I've collected so far.  I have been tattooed by Bryan Holland before and definitely will be back at The Electric Temple to get tattooed by him again.  The shop itself is very inviting, super clean, beautiful, peaceful and the absolute best atmosphere to be tattooed in.  There is a lot of repurposed wood and thought put into how everything is arranged and places.  Everyone that works here is really nice and definitely has a lot of talent, I would recommend anyone to go here for their first tattoo or if they already have a good amount.  Brewerytown is a pretty cool neighborhood and they're lucky to get such a great tattoo shop. Going to this studio is like going to an oasis.  Eric's eye for design clearly goes well beyond his expertise as a tattoo artist, he has created a beautiful, artistic space that is inviting and peaceful.  Being surrounded by beautiful art and images certainly helps take the sting away from the tattoo process itself!  As a heavily tattooed woman, trust me, every little bit of comfort helps.  Eric is a skilled, super chill, humble cat.  He has designed several amazing pieces for me, as well as my husband, and we get stopped everywhere by people wanting to know who did our work.  His detail and line work is fantastic.  He has done some funky star wars pieces on me and combined them with beautiful flower blossoms, intricate lace, as well as a gorgeous mendhi lotus. He really creates unique and traffic stopping tattoos.  Love this man and won't stop getting more tattoos from him until he runs out of places to put them on me!  Be prepared to book a sitting in advance, he books up quick due to his mad skills! Four days out after my third session with Eric and my first at his new shop, and as always I feel so grateful and happy with the results and the experience. At The Electric Temple you can expect all the standards of a quality shop: cleanliness, professionalism, and a welcoming atmosphere. However, because it's The Electric Temple you can expect so much more! The studio is stunning. Eric's skills are a cut above badass. He connects to his clients and their pieces. This isn't post-tattoo glow talking. I get so many compliments about the work I have from Eric. The great thing about a talented and experienced shop owner is that they bring other awesome artists to his side so you'll be in good hands no matter with whom you work.
