I had my first piece done at Dakini by Mandy, and I cannot emphasize enough how good the experience was. In the weeks before my appointment, Mandy and I emailed to go over design, placement, and tattoo care and maintenance. She was very thoughtful and patient with my questions and put together a perfect design. On the day of my tattoo, she was warm and welcoming, explained each step of the process, helped me choose the right spot and made sure I was comfortable while she worked. The tattoo is exactly what I wanted and makes me happy every time I see it. I am so grateful for Mandy and am already thinking about my next design!

Great shop, great people, great artists.Mandy was extremely patient and helpful during the weeks that it took to get the design right. We worked via email, as I was only going to be in Philadelphia from out of town for a few days. She responded to my emails very promptly and in a detailed manner. She was helpful, listened to me carefully, and never made me feel any pressure at all to ink before I was completely satisfied with what we were going to do. The tattoo came out amazingly, and Mandy's suggestions and contributions to the design and feel of the final piece were spot on. She is a very talented artist, and was such a pleasure to work with.The shop itself is super friendly and super low key. ZERO attitude, even though all the artists are excellent. The value is also excellent; the price is very reasonable for the level of Mandy's talent and the time she spent with me designing the tattoo. I HIGHLY recommend Mandy and Dakini!!

The prices are very reasonable compared to shops in Olde City, Center City and South Street. I love all the tattoos I've had done at Dakini.

From the moment I walked through their door, Adam put me at ease. So much so, that I got 2 tattoos right there on the spot. Would definitely go back to him!

I’ve gotten my only 2 tattoos done here at Dakini by Masami. I’ve gotten two very small, minimalistic/fine line tattoos and she was very patient with me making sure it’s exactly how I pictured it. They turned out perfectly and I can’t imagine going anywhere else to get my tattoos. The shop is super clean and has great energy. I 100% recommend going here!

Awesome experience! Justin was really patient and very helpful during the whole design process and tattoo experience. Being that it was both my friends and my first tattoo he really took the time to explain the process and everything. I felt comfortable the whole time. He has excellent line work and I could tell he likes to perfect his work and make sure the client is happy with the end design. I recommend anyone to go to Dakini Tattoo whether it be your first or third one. They seem to really care about the process and you will not feel rushed or anything. Thank you Justin for a great experience! Hope to be back soon for a second tattoo :)

Color tattoos are painful but when they look exactly as you want they're worth every penny, and she's very fair with her prices. The place is clean and everyone is really cool and welcoming. Go so Masami, you won't be disappointed.

Yeah, no. Not sure why but they treat you like you are beneath them. Very short and act like they don't have the time of day for you...I walked in one day just to check it out...they had no customers ...

Very short and act like they don't have the time of day for you...I walked in one day just to check it out...they had no customers yet acted like I intruded. Then....treated me like I had no knowledge of tattoos (I was in a nice suit coming from work) ...Needless to say, I walked out and never returned...little did they know, I am covered in original work and have spent thousands On them. Oh well....their loss. Not just me, I have steered many others away from there as well. I hope they learn how to treat others one day. Or their business won't be open much longer.

Clean floors, walls, and especially, machines and needles. Second, is atmosphere. Dakini tattoo gives you a great comfortable setting. Everyone is friendly, whether they are your artist or not. I've had great conversations with everyone. Mandy was recommended to me by my cousin. She is an awesome artist. She listens, and offers advice. She also will change anything you ask. She's my new favorite artist. I'd recommend her to anyone? She's currently doing my sleeve

Highly recommend this place! Small, clean, organized, and (although it's in S Philly) never seem to have problems parking. Was given Mandy P's card when I was admiring someone else's ink. I wanted several pieces done, Mandy took what started as general concepts and created truly amazing pieces, she's a sick artist! She's patient as hell and really listens. Masami is an amazing artist. I have a good amount of tattoos and hers is the best by far. Her detail is out of this world. Her work is as good if not better than the work you see on Miami ink or LA ink. I will never go to another artist as long as she's in the tattooing business. She is also very friendly and easy to get along with. All together a great experience can't wait to go back.

She responded just as quickly to set up our appt and was personable and warm from the moment I entered the door.I love the vibe here -- serene, spiritual energy, great tunes, pleasing visually.And it's very clean !The Tatt is beautiful and beyond my expectations. I have gotten 4 tattoos from Justin so far and love every one I have gotten from him. I actually have another appointment with him to get a sleeve tattoo and I know the outcome of it will be creative perfection judging from the work I've gotten from him before. like I just said, anyone looking to get an awesome tattoo weather it be tiny or huge, go to Dakini Tattoo! you will NOT be disappointed!! :D

I would recommend Justin to anyone and everyone, he is precise with the needle and has some of the best quality lines I've seen on the east coast. The shop itself was comfortable and well kept as well. Can't wait to get the next one!

Awesome experience! Justin was really patient and very helpful during the whole design process and tattoo experience. Being that it was both my friends and my first tattoo he really took the time to explain the process and everything. I felt comfortable the whole time. He has excellent line work and I could tell he likes to perfect his work and make sure the client is happy with the end design. I recommend anyone to go to Dakini Tattoo whether it be your first or third one. They seem to really care about the process and you will not feel rushed or anything. Thank you Justin for a great experience! Hope to be back soon for a second tattoo :)

I was referred here by a friend and will never go anywhere else...even if I move away. Masami is amazing...she works over every detail of your tattoo in the design phase before she even makes the draw...

Masami is amazing...she works over every detail of your tattoo in the design phase before she even makes the drawing. Color tattoos are painful but when they look exactly as you want they're worth every penny, and she's very fair with her prices. The place is clean and everyone is really cool and welcoming. Go so Masami, you won't be disappointed.

Yeah, no. Not sure why but they treat you like you are beneath them. Very short and act like they don't have the time of day for you...I walked in one day just to check it out...they had no customers ...

Very short and act like they don't have the time of day for you...I walked in one day just to check it out...they had no customers yet acted like I intruded. Then....treated me like I had no knowledge of tattoos (I was in a nice suit coming from work) ...Needless to say, I walked out and never returned...little did they know, I am covered in original work and have spent thousands On them. Oh well....their loss. Not just me, I have steered many others away from there as well. I hope they learn how to treat others one day. Or their business won't be open much longer.

Clean floors, walls, and especially, machines and needles. Second, is atmosphere. Dakini tattoo gives you a great comfortable setting. Everyone is friendly, whether they are your artist or not. I've had great conversations with everyone. Mandy was recommended to me by my cousin. She is an awesome artist. She listens, and offers advice. She also will change anything you ask. She's my new favorite artist. I'd recommend her to anyone? She's currently doing my sleeve

Highly recommend this place! Small, clean, organized, and (although it's in S Philly) never seem to have problems parking. Was given Mandy P's card when I was admiring someone else's ink. I wanted several pieces done, Mandy took what started as general concepts and created truly amazing pieces, she's a sick artist! She's patient as hell and really listens. Everybody in the shop is friendly, place totally has a great vibe

Masami is an amazing artist. I have a good amount of tattoos and hers is the best by far. Her detail is out of this world. Her work is as good if not better than the work you see on Miami ink or LA ink. I will never go to another artist as long as she's in the tattooing business. She is also very friendly and easy to get along with. All together a great experience can't wait to go back.
