He ended up free handing an entire cherry blossom branch and flowers. This came out better than any picture I found. I can't say enough good about this place! Me and 5 friends were out and about in New Hope, and a few of my friends wanted to get their first tattoos done. We got there a little late in the day, but Mike was super welcoming and just awesome in general. He was able to tattoo all 6 of us and give good advice on tattoos and placements. I went to these guys a few years (or more) after searching high a low for the best place and went with Lion's Den. I was extremely nervous because I have a low tolerance for pain buttttt they were so easy going and friendly that they made the experience so much better and they are such awesome guys! You definitely get what you pay for and I highly recommend! I would go back in a heartbeat! My first tattoo was across the street, but when one of the employees was rude to me I decided to go here. Best decision I've ever made! I've gotten 3/5 of my tattoos done here. The guys are super helpful with designs, even redesigning parts of tattoos to make sure they look amazing. They're professional but easygoing, and they're very clean. Very clean place, very nice guy. I felt very little pain, but even when I did Mike distracted me with his stories. Even with all of the help, it was cheaper than other places I have gone to/heard about. Reasonable prices and so helpful. Love the place and recommend to anyone who asks. I've been thinking of a tattoo for probably twenty years or so. Over the years, I have stopped into MANY tattoo places to inquire about cleanliness and what it entails...pain, longevity, and to discuss my idea for the art. For many varying reasons, never really decided to pull the trigger. I recently decided to have my wife's name done on my chest, and began to ask around here where I live, where some of my friends ( and even strangers) LOL, have had theirs done. Resoundingly, The Lions Den in New Hope PA. came up over and over again! So what did I do??? Of course...took to YELP and decided that with nothing but positive feedback here and the reco's from other folks, I would go have a look. The shop is quaint and cozy, the owner (Big Mike) and his associates (Billy greeted me at the front door), are AWESOME!! They made a first timer comfortable and were very careful to guide me towards EXACTLY what I had envisioned!! Never once did I feel intimidated...PERIOD!!! They made me feel like I was one of the family of "regulars"...NO B.S.! They are very easy to hang out with, and I felt sorta bad only doing a four letter word....in and out in less than an hour. LOL! I can easily see having something major done and hanging around for hours there. Its a fun and friendly atmosphere. As for pain, I'm sure it depends on where you are being tatt'd, but I was amazed at how little it hurt. Truth be told, the damn surgical tape that held in place the plastic bandage right after, hurt worse peeling it off a few hours later!!Now, for the best part....... the finished product..... Nothing short of spectacular! My wife would be the judge, as it is after all her name. Her comment....  "It looks like you were born with it!" No lie. Mike is masterful at holding steady and I simply cannot believe that a tattoo can be so incredibly perfect. I have always wanted to have my dogs name tattooed on me somewhere as well. He is in the twilight of his life now, and that will be for my next visit. I will absolutely return and tell everyone I know about his shop....Mike is quite the character too! Clean, courteous and very helpful. I got my first tattoo here years ago and Tony was amazing. He went to school for graphic arts design so his work is top notch. I will never get tattooed by anyone else. Joe has done a majority of my tattoos and Mike has done about three on me. They are a bit price-y but in my eyes, you get what you pay for. I also have WONDERFUL white ink tattoos done by them. AMAZING work and super professional. Read Less

My brother is an artist, and after I laid out the concept of my next tattoo, he drew my imagined creation with impeccable precision. I didn't think the tattoo artist that I took the drawing too would do it perfectly, but surely I was wrong. I've gotten 4 tattoos, and 3 of them are from this place right here. Days after I turned 18, I found myself in this shop on a little side street in New Hope with no idea of what to look for in a tattoo artist.  Lucky for me, I found Tony.  He wasn't who I went there to see, but after looking through his portfolio, I decided to give him a go.  I'm so glad I did.  Tony is great.  He made me feel really comfortable every time I went to see him.  He patiently answered all my questions and made sure I was doing okay as we went along.  During one session we watched Jason X.  I was done before the movie was, so he fast forwarded to the scene where Jason beats one girl with another girl in a sleeping bag.  You know why?  Because Tony is the best damn tattoo artist in New Hope! i will always recommend this place. the first time i went, tony covered up a not-so-great piece on my upper back. most recently, my sister and i got matching family tattoos by joe rose. the people that see my tattoos compliment me and ask where i get done. i happily say lion's den. the prices are really reasonable. watching super hero movies a la ironman while getting tattooed is just fun.  the guys are really professional and down to earth. i love this place! i have two more tattoos on my mind, and i'm definitely going here to get them done.fyi, as far as i recall, saturdays they do walk-ins. otherwise, they take appointments and $50 deposits to hold them.
