I took my son there for his first tattoo. My son was nervous and his blood sugar was low so he got a little queasy. The artist was very patient, funny and understanding. I wouldn't give it one star but unfortunately I have to. This is the one year anniversary of the owner finding my Facebook and trying to personally attack me. Professional, right? What a respectful business owner. The way to solve issues is totally to harass someone via Facebook. It was adorable, I haven't seen such behavior since middle school days. He did this because I warned people in the area not to go to Boomtown. This is basically what I said:Their quality is atrocious. Expect bad shadings with light from multiple suns like you're stuck in the andromeda galaxy. Expect your lines to be blown out and heal as scar tissue. Tattoos either too light and barely in any layer of dermis that they fade in six months or a deep flesh wound of scar and ink. Expect cheap tattoos, but know cheap tattoos aren't good and good tattoos aren't cheap!The work is bad, the owner is sour. The majority of their clientele come from small towns with little to no knowledge of tattooing, what to look for or what to expect. They go here to be branded with shit for life. I've had the unpleasant experience to be tattooed here and ended up with a blown out script written in scar tissue. It was illegible. I also get tattooed by wonderful and known artists in the industry, I'm no artist myself but know enough about it to identify bad tattooing. All other artists have laughed at what they stuck on my thigh. It was a running joke to try to read it, since they reversed letters and such. The lettering was good on stencil but for whatever reason the artist reversed letters in ink. It was so spread out, poorly done, and scarred it was so hard finding an artist comfortable with covering it up. I had to get it reworked. Still looks like a dump on my leg but looks much better! I can also wear shorts again! Don't go here. Please look at awesome local baltimore shops and their portfolios and compare to Boomtown. You will see the difference. Saints & Sinners, Read Street Tattoo, Tattoo Dynasty, Classic Electric, and Deep Six Tattoo all house wonderful artists. Yes, Boomtown is cheaper since you're paying for permanent vomit on your leg rather than a tattoo. Read Less

Traci is an incredible artist. She does so much more than a typical tattoo artist; she transforms your concept into a masterpiece. The work she's done for me and many others I know is always second to none. I highly recommend her to everyone who comments on my ink. And I always tell them it's well worth the drive! Read Less
