I have suffered with moderate cystic acne for the last 4 years which left me unhappy with my appearance and self conscious to even be photographed.  Prior to trying Ringpfeil I had seen at least 2 other dermatologist both being a waste of time.  I was getting to my wits end and decided to give Ringpfeil a try.  As a woman of color it's been challenging finding a dermatologist with the experience with melanin skin treatment.  I decided to see PA - Linda and it was an excellent experience.  She listened to all of my concerns, took the time to thoroughly exam my skin and came up with a conservative approach that has totally cleared my skin.  I found her to be straightforward and honest.  She didn't try to have me buy a ton of expensive products.  She gave me a simple regimen incorporating one prescription and one over the counter product.  That's it! This is a regimen that is not overwhelming and works.  I have been following her regimen for a little over 60 days and my face it totally clear.  All of the hyper-pigmentation from the acne scarring is gone.  I may still get an occasional acne bump maybe once a month and the duration is much shorter than before and no lingering marks.  I highly recommend Linda who is the kind of dermatologist I wish I had found years ago. I've been coming to Ringpfeil Dermatology for many years now, for both medical and cosmetic visits.  Dr. Gonzalez and Dr. Ringpfeil have been both excellent.  Both are extremely precise with Botox placement.  I love the online appointment booking system and the front desk and staff have always been pleasant and helpful.  The office is efficient and generally runs on time.  As far as a prior review complaining about being rescheduled for being late, the office does try to accommodate late comers, but keep in mind pushing back the schedule on a patient being late would then inconvenience every other patient on the schedule.  So I appreciate that they have clear policies about when to arrive and the risk of being late, because it means that patients like myself will be seen on time.  Overall, I highly recommend this office! I was a patient form out of state on a business trip for 4 months.  I began to have acne for the first time in my life in January 2018.  I saw  the PA Linda who prescribed me Retin-A for 6 weeks.  After about 8 weeks total my skin was back to normal, and I have not had the acne return.  In addition, I stopped taking the medication.  During the time that I had the acne, I felt extremely depressed and ashamed to be in public.  I would like to give THANKS to Linda for repairing my skin and self confidence!!!!!!! I am a new patient and scheduled my first appointment with Dr. GONZALEZ at 9:20. I got stuck in a little traffic and was going to be 7 to 10 minutes late. I called and informed them and they told me to get there as quickly as I could. I arrived at 9:27 and checked in. As I was standing there waiting, the two women at the front desk were conversing about squeezing me in later on and how it was going to work out for timing. I finally interrupted them and politely asked if I was going to be seen today? They informed me that they were going to try to "squeeze me" in because me being "seven minutes" late could back up the schedule. They had to check with the doctor. After she checked with the doctor she told me that the doctor was running behind and wasn't able to see me anyway and because I was late she could see me later in the day or another day altogether. I am confused at this point because if the doctor is running behind I would have had to wait anyway, right? Isn't there a grace period for new patients? I could understand if I was 15- 20 minutes late and the doctor was running on time and couldn't take me, but 7 minutes?!? It sounds like they overbooked themselves and were looking to bump someone to alleviate the cluster f in the schedule.Also I didn't appreciate them telling me that it's confusing especially when I have a job that is by appointment only and I know how it works. There's usually a grace period and allowance for 5-10 minutes late. Additionally, how much time was she intending on spending with me??? If 7 minutes was too much time taken from my appointment, (and a first time appointment at that), how thorough could it be!?!?!?All of these things made me feel very uneasy staying at this point, so I left and whether they are good or not, unfortunately I'm not going back. I cannot recommend Ringpfeil highly enough. Dr. Bird is such a refreshing change of pace. Acne is so frustrating, but Dr. Bird is patient and really works with you to come up with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line treatment options. She fully explains what she's planning to do and why, and what she'll do if it doesn't work. She is very cautious, and tries to do the least amount possible to give you the results you want (she didn't just recommend Accutane). The medical assistants and front desk staff are great, my appointments are always on time. The Philly office is also beautiful, but I'd go even if it wasn't. Went in for cryoshaping. I have a keloid, and the procedure was a epic failure. I was promised result in 4 months. Nothing happen, its absolutely the same. I don't think the doctor has proven success with this procedure, i felt like a case study, or test dummy. Not to mention after the procedure they never check up on you to see how you are healing or if you are happy with your result. Poor communication. This procedure is expensive. Probably should do more research to find a dr who knows what they are doing. Read Less

I recently saw Dr. Nina Abraham for a tumor and hair loss. This woman did not remove my tumor and when I tried to explain my experience with hair loss, she immediately related it to hair relaxers and heat because Im African American. How can you diagnose someone without running test? This woman dismissed my concerns. Poor bed side mannor. If you have no experience with a certain condition then say it and recommend a different Doctor. I will never refer this place to anyone nor will I return. This place is fantastic! Marina is a PA who has been using cosmetic lasers for years. I had some hair removal, and removal of pigmentation on my neck, shoulders and back. My skin looks great! Marina is extremely experienced and capable. She is a perfectionist and takes her time with the treatments. Just as importantly, she is gentle and kind and super concerned with keeping her patients as comfortable as possible. The office is clean and professional. I absolutely love Dr. Ringpfeil. I see her in the Haverford, PA location. After years (since I was 10!) of battling the worst acne ever, Dr. R was the first to be able to get it under control. I almost cried when I saw the progress we have made. The ladies up front are always amazingly nice, and I always get seen even if I am late. I have gotten peels from Dana (one of the cosmotology girls) and she is wonderful! I get relatively large zits and they take up to a month to go away! And then I get left with nasty red marks and indents :( My face is so very close to being clear and I couldn't be happier! Love this place! Read Less

I've been a patient at RIngpfiel since 2013. I've never suffered from extreme acne and didn't experience breakouts often, but I was unhappy with the appearance and texture of my skin and often felt like I wasn't able to remove dirt and buildup from my pores. I saw Dr. Abraham, who suggested acne extraction facials. I began getting the facials once a month, and noticed an improvement in my skin. I kept this up for a little over a year, but when I turned 26 I no longer had insurance that would cover these visits.About a year later and once I regained insurance coverage, I scheduled an appointment with a dermatologist so that I could begin the acne extraction facials again. I saw Linda Heckman, who was so incredibly rude and accusatory I almost left the office in tears. Linda treated me as though I was trying to "get one over on the system" by wanting to continue the acne extraction facials. (The facials were covered by my insurance so I did not pay for them). She drilled me about my skincare routine (all of the products I use were purchased from Ringpfiel) and said that my skin didn't look the way I wanted it to because I wasn't using the products every single day. Keep in mind, I had called the office when I noticed my glycolic gel was causing my skin to peel and then advised to use it a few times a week instead. She kept reiterating that I was "lucky to not have acne" and acted like this appointment was a huge waste of her time. It got to the point that I was so taken aback by her attitude and unporfessionalism that I said, "look, I am the patient here, I was simply following protocol by making an appointment in hopes that I could start doing the acne facials again or something else that would improve my skin. I am not trying to get a free facial, I did not even know acne extraction facials (which are painful and quite the opposite of luxurious) existed until they were recommended to me by YOUR colleague." I was then taken out to the front desk to make an appointment with an aesthetician, but I did not go through with it because I refuse to be treated so badly. There are numerous other dermatological offices that I am confident will treat me with more respect than I received at Ringpfiel by Linda Heckman. I would absolutely not recommend this office. An honest review. Please find another doctor. I've had repeated issues with this practice. Their unprofessionalism is appalling. Appointments are constantly cancelled at the last minute. Once I presented to the appointment only to find out the medication that I needed had not arrived. Tonight I received a call at 7pm to find out my 1:00 appt is cancelled again because the medication had not arrived. What can I do at 7pm? Save yourself a lot of grief and find a new doctor. The best facial treatment I have ever had is marina lesser!  I have gone to numerous places to get facial treatments and she is by far the best I have ever had.  Not only did I get a wonderful peel but she also gave me great advice on how to take care of my skin and it has never looked better.  The amount of compliments I have gotten,I can't keep track of.   I have recommended her to every single person I know to her.  Another bright light is Dr Bird!  She is so friendly and wonderful at her job. I have had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Ringpfeil and her staff for the past 2 years and could not be happier with the services that they provide!!! As a woman with a history of melanoma, I am extremely picky about the dermatologist that I see. After having skin checks performed by numerous others in the Philadelphia area, I was overwhelmed with how thorough both Dr. Ringpfeil, Dr. Bird and Dr. Abraham were during my exams. When I had concerns Dr. Ringpfeil took the time to explain what the growth was and why it was or was not concerning.  She also documented measurements and descriptions of several moles on my body to monitor. I have also seen one of the aestheticians, Marina.  Not only is she the sweetest, but she is extremely educated on lasers, peels and procedures that will help any area of concern!My daughter recently had a bad acne flare up before an important social event and was in a typical teenage panic to see someone for help. I called their office who offered a last minute appointment that same day with Linda, the PA. Linda's intelligence and expertise were exactly what I would expect from any physician. She went into great detail about every option available and the medical assistant wrote out detailed notes at the end of the visit about her new regimen so that she was completely clear about what to use and when. This is a highly efficient office where my wait time has always been less than 15 minutes.   I will most certainly be taking my family to this office for many years to come! I don't know maybe I should have read reviews before I came in. But I'm definitely not impressed or even satisfied with my visit today. When I walked in I wasn't greeted with a smile or by anyone who seemed to be happy to be at work that day. I stood in line waiting to be checked in and the woman with a very flat tone said "can I help you"?, not hi how are you? Or hi how may I help you or anything. Just a flat almost rude tone "can I help you"?Then I go back a young gentleman helped get some more information from me (he was the only reason for the 2 stars). He was polite and friendly. The doctors assistant comes in to go over stuff and to see the keloids that I have and want to get the injections in. She was also pretty flat and seemed super rushed like she had 50 other people to see. She went over the cost with me and I was told $80 was for the visit and $50 for the injections. Im pretty irritated because for $130 I would expect to see an actual DOCTOR and not be rushed.When I tried to ask questions about my acne she told me I needed to make a separate appointment for that. Umm ok I was just asking a few questions but wow I guess.. Literally 35 seconds tops after she finished the injections she was out of the room. She left the young man there to walk me out. Not so much as I short goodbye or convo, nothing. Then the same monotone woman checked me out and I told her I needed to do a follow up to get more injections. She set the appointment up and took my payment. Then I also told her I needed to make an appointment for acne solutions she said "you can just do them together" being pretty snippy. Well hmm if I can just do them together why when I tried to ask questions did I get told that would have to be a different appointment? So I paid $130 to NOT see a doctors, be spoken to like an idiot, rushed, and make to feel unwelcome? Nice.. I'm sure there are plenty other places I can do to that will appreciate my business and might actually greet me with a smile. ***UPDATE***Since writing my original review, I was contacted via e-mail by Dana from Ringpfeil. She apologized for the experience that I had, and offered to complete the remaining treatments for free. Not only was the offer not contingent on my removal or revision of the less-than-positive review that I wrote on Yelp, but the fact that it was made in a private message (vs. posted publicly in response to my review in order to make the business look better) scored major points with me. Five stars for professionalism!I've since gone in to have two additional treatments. It would have been more, but unfortunately I moved out of the area. I wish that this review was just about the friendliness of the staff at Ringpfeil, because they all deserve at least five, if not six stars in that regard. (The person who originally treated my tattoo is apparently no longer working there.) Unfortunately, I just don't feel like I can give a higher rating. The reason being that when I am in need of a particular service, I choose where to go based mostly on the quality of the service vs. the friendliness of the staff. In the end, these are the facts:1. I was quoted as needing three treatments MAXIMUM, yet I have had four treatments to date and my tattoo still has not been completely removed.2. Had I been charged for all the treatments I've had so far, the cost would have been $875 ($250 each for the first three, and then $125 for the fourth, since apparently the treatments are half off if you exceed their quoted maximum number). Just as a reminder, this is for a 1"x2" black ink tattoo which had already been partially removed prior to coming to Ringpfeil.Decide for yourself, fellow Yelpers! (Original review is below.)I came here for PicoSure tattoo removal on a tattoo that was only about 1"x2". It was just black ink (which is supposed to be the easiest color to remove), and already significantly faded, due to having several prior treatments at another place. After seeing the before and after pictures on their website, along with the claim that "One treatment with PicoSure provides better clearance than two treatments with ANY other laser on the market," I was confident that I could expect great results. Right? Wrong!When I went in for my initial consultation, I was told that I would probably only need one treatment - or maybe up to three MAXIMUM. The price I was quoted ($250/session) seemed quite high for such a small area, but with the results they promised, I expected it to be worth it.After $500 and two treatments (and I have the before and after pictures to prove it!), there was virtually NO difference in my tattoo. As my third appointment approached, I called the office and expressed my concerns that I was not achieving the promised results. I knew that even after the third treatment, my tattoo would not be gone. I was expecting maybe an apology, an offer to continue to treat it for free after the third treatment, partial refund.....SOMETHING. Instead, the advice they gave me was to come in for my third treatment (and pay another $250), and basically "see what happens." I scheduled a phone consultation at 10:55am with Marina to have a tattoo removed using PicoSure. Once 11:00am rolled around I called the front office and they told me "she was probably finishing up with a patient and would call me in a few minutes". My phone number was confirmed. I sat and waited another 25 minutes and called the office again and was transferred to Marina with no explanation/apology for the lack of making a scheduled phone call. Marina picked up and began "I looked at the picture of your tattoo - so what questions do you have for me" (no apology)? The phone conversation was led by me and she did not give any helpful information (benefits/drawbacks, etc.) of removing the tattoo. They do not have any before/after pictures on their website that THEY PERFORMED and now I can see why. I did not get the feel that they are very experienced in performing tattoo removals. Overall, my advice is to go to a different Licensed Aesthetician in the area.
