I wanted to get a new tattoo, did some research and contacted Glenside Tattoo. I called, then went in and met with Nate a tattoo artist there. I explained to him what I was looking for and some ideas I had. This will be a very sentimental tattoo and very important to me. As it turns out Nate has a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and was going to create custom art based on the ideas we discussed. I made an appointment to come back the following Saturday. The sketch that Nate made was just great. The final results were even better, I can't say enough about how well it turned out. The shop was clean and everyone was very professional. My wife and I walked in and both left very satisfied. It's a great shop, clean and pretty big. I worked with Pat, he said real laid back and personable. Nate did my wife's, he too was real chill. She gave him idea and within a 20 minutes he was setting up and starting. She loves it. As for me for Pat added to arrows to my main arrow, asked me several times if I was comfortable with his drawing and check placement. He took his time, and was engaging which I appreciated. My Uncle came here 3 years ago and Drew did his memorial tattoo for his Dad (my Pop). He still raves about how he came in with an idea and the next time he went back to ask how it was going, Drew had it done and it was amazing. His tattoo was great! I just went to get my own tattoos done yesterday and Pat took GREAT care of me. My tattoos were memorial tattoos for my Pop and my cousin who passed last week. I was unprepared for what exactly I wanted for my Pop and he sat with me searching for ideas until I finally figured it out. He did a phenomenal job and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I decided to get my nose pierced on a whim and heard good things about this spot. All the guys in the shop were super nice and Mike was a doll. He took his time and explained everything to me beforehand and took extra time to thoroughly explain after care. The shop itself was clean and covered in awesome art. I've had experiences where the artist or piercer was super condescending and/or grumpy but everyone was so nice here. I recently got my septum pierced by Szabo and I was overwhelmingly impressed by the care that he took to not only make sure that the procedure was sanitary but that I was also as comfortable as possible. I just got a tattoo from here and it is CRAZY good. The design I selected is a pretty complicated design from comic artist Al Columbia. I walked in and asked for a price, and they told me they could do it for $240. Knowing this information, I went to Wildwood, NJ to see if they would do the tattoo for the same price. Nope. I went to two tattoo places there that said they could do it for no less than $350! More than $100 difference! I went back to Glenside to get this tattoo and couldn't be more impressed! Read Less

Professional, knowledgeable, expert piercer, Michael Szabo, who knows proper after care & actually cares about anyone who walks in!  I stopped in after hearing good things about them & researching online to see a professional piercer who could look at a piercing I got on vacation in New Orleans that was killing me!  I went in to another place first to consult with a piercer & he had told me instructions that weren't working at all and my piercing was getting worse, not better.  Ready to simply have it removed from pain & frustration, I met with Michael Szabo & he totally saved my piercing & educated me a ton!  Little did I know, I had never received proper, sanitary, after care instructions for my piercings which has led to issues and Michael saved the day!  After being greeted by very friendly people, I was sent directly to Mike & he spent a ton of time with me explaining proper after-care and provided super thorough instructions there and in a follow up email.  Within days my piercing felt a million times better & now I can keep it after all, thanks to him & Glenside Tattoo!  Don't waste your time anywhere else, go straight to the professionals here. I work for a gallery, surrounded by images I've been wanting to put onto my body for years... But never had the guts to pull the trigger. When I found Glenside Tattoo, it was the first time I was made to feel completely comfortable getting tattooed; I had been tattooed twice before, but my tattoo artist (Nate) at Glenside Tattoo was the most professional, clean and talented I have come across. During the tattoo on my ribs, which took about 2.5 hours, I was allowed to get up and stretch, given some sugar candy when I felt shaky, and given multiple checkpoints to make sure I was happy with how it was going. I have now gotten two tattoos there (a Dalí, shown, and a tiny Robert Motherwell "Elegy"), and have a mental list growing for many more. I received my nose piercing from Michael Szabo and let me say he is the BEST! He made me so comfortable and even allowed me to pick out the color I want for my piercing. I am hypoglycemic and after getting my nose done I started getting dizzy. He had glucose tablets to help my blood sugar and had me relax while I drank water until I felt better. He is also so KNOWLEDGABLE!  He gave me full instructions on how to care for my piercing with a small demo and even emailed the directions to me so I could access them anytime. If I ever forgot or had a question he gave me a way to contact him personally. This man is the best, if you are thinking about getting a piercing I would definitely go to him!!! Read Less

I had done a lot of research in where I wanted to get my work done and then simply picked a location based on how close it was to my apartment. And I am so glad this just happened to be near me! The first time I went, I had an old tattoo touched up. I was told that some parts of it would be difficult to redo but he was able to fix it and now it looks so much better than before.The second time I went, I had a massive tattoo placed on my upper left arm. I had sent an email explaining my ideas and Drew emailed me back saying I could walk in anytime for a consult. I met with Pat, who took my drawings and pictures and made a sketch of my ideas right then and there. He completely nailed it! He asked when I wanted it done, I said whenever, and he said why not now? I was thinking that this whole process was going to take an exhausting three or four days but I was in an out in a little less than an hour and a half. Not only that, but he talked me through my ideas and even saved me from making a huge mistake with my tattoo placement. Just got piercings done today by Michael Szabo, nd I love love love my double Tragus! My first time here, he made me feel very welcomed. Shop was clean, and extremely sterile at the piercing station. I just moved to Philly and was very nervous about getting a tattoo at a shop I had no personal references from. I went off of Yelp and I am so very happy I did. I went to one other shop before checking out Glenside and felt almost defeated. I was treated as if the tattoo I wanted was not good enough to be done in their shop. The artist I was referred to tried to talk me out of what I envisioned. I walked out dejected. On the advice of a friend we decided to check out Glenside although I was hesitant. We walked in and referred to Pat. Pat instantly made me feel at ease. He heard me out. He had me send him some images and he drew up what I wanted. The next day I went back and he NAILED IT! It was even better than what I wanted. He was kind and a put me at ease during the tattoo process. There are numerous talented tattoo artists to choose from in the region. However, just because you go to a good tattoo artist doesn't mean you will get a good tattoo. Now, enter Glenside Tattoo. I have known Drew's work for many years and recently had the pleasure of getting some of my own at his new location in Glenside. He approaches every project with expertise and a great attitude. Drew and his crew treat all clients with tremendous professionalism. From dime size tattoos to large back pieces each work gets their full attention. I had a great experience at Glenside Tattoo.I sent an e-mail  on Saturday morning asking if I could get in early that afternoon. It was my birthday weekend and this tattoo was a birthday gift. Brian got back to me letting me know he could see me at 1:30. I sent the artwork over so that he had an idea of what I was looking for. When I got there, he already had most of the drawing down. This is my 2nd tattoo and I LOVE it. Brian's recommendations were PERFECT for the design and he worked with my requests to give me the perfect piece of art. I can't stop looking at it. this place is great!!!! walked in and they helped me right away. we were totally on the same wave length on what i wanted to do and how we wanted to do it. even the music playing during my tattoo was great. ranged from slayer to billy joel even a little ELO mixed in there!!!!
