I have never given a review on a business before and felt strongly that I needed to post this. IT IS LONG, BUT BEAR WITH ME... I live in Seattle and my sister had made an appointment here at 3pm on 7/21/12 for three of us to get a very simple, and deeply meaningful script tattoo of "sisters" on our wrist/forearm. This simple tattoo had more meaning for us than you could imagine and you honestly don't deserve the back story.I can get over the lack of acknowledgement upon our entering the building - I get it, you're concentrating on finishing a tattoo for another customer... Or was I mistaking you're looking up and looking back down without even so much as a grunt acknowledgement? ...but OK, several minutes after we got there, you asked if we had an appointment... YEY!! ...but shouldn't you have this in your bookkeeping? I can even get over the lack of acknowledgement about running 25 minutes late (even though you didn't apologize or give us a head's up that you were then going to go outside and smoke a cigarette for 7 minutes - yes, I timed it, we all had childcare to pay for)... this now makes the time approx 32 minutes late and to two single moms and a mother who's coming from across the country, it might as well have been 2 hours - time is money, but we'll get to that later...1/ I DO expect that you've, at the very least, looked over the artwork prior to my appointment, maybe even have done some research on the artwork that was sent to you on the 17th. Instead, you looked at it either before or after your cigarette, can't remember which, but pretty sure it was after... As I mentioned to you, it took me all of ten minutes on a free font site to find that particular font, and when you rudely and impatiently asked what the font was - well who's getting paid for this tattoo, you or me??2/ I DO expect that if you had any questions or doubts on the very simple artwork, that you would send us a message prior to our appointment that we were on time for (five minutes early, in fact). 3/ I DO expect that on your 3rd attempt at the artwork where we very politely told you twice it wasn't looking like the picture, that you would NOT simply go into the back, blow up the picture, print it, then trace it and call it done...4/ I DO NOT expect for you to trace it again and again with the same outcome when we say it wasn't looking the same as the picture.5/ I DO expect if you were going to go "through the trouble" of printing it and tracing it, that it at least resemble what we sent to you and oh, at least fit on my wrist as in the picture - or was this wrap around art?? 6/ Remember when you said you felt after tracing it, you needed to open up the "e" and adjust the "t" and the "r" so that it had your "stamp on it"? Yeah, remember when I said that we were going to wear this for the rest of our lives and we just wanted the way it looked in the picture and you again told me that it was your "handywork" and if anyone asked where you got it.... Well, I am calling your bullsh*t... and so have the 6 other tattoo professionals I have since spoken with. 7/ Remember when you and your manager refused to give back our deposit (never mentioning upon making the appointment that it was non-refundable), and said it was because you had reserved the time for this tattoo, which now, by the way was going on 45-50 minutes after our initially scheduled time - well that is just poor business... If you take this post down, I will just repost. I'll be putting this same review on any website for Sink the Ink I can find. Thanks a lot for wasting an hour of our time, for not being stand-up enough to give back a $50 deposit for something it was clear you didn't want to do, and for having us spend $60 on top of all this for childcare. I can't fully describe how rude and unprofessional this establishment is - collectively, my sisters and I have over 24 hours of "ink" - which may not seem like a lot to the folks at Sink the Ink, but even if we didn't have any, should never have been treated the way we were. I have never felt so belittled, judged, and disregarded as a paying customer anywhere else for anything. No, we didn't get our deposit back from you, but guess what, 6 hours later, we each had a tattoo of EXACTLY what we wanted and rest assured, our friends and our friends of friends and their friends of friends will never be going there.
