It is so poorly done, not colored in in certain spots all the way. Have been basically hiding my arm since I got this tattoo because I was emabarrased. The worst part is it was a cover up of an even smaller tattoo, and the girl convinced me she was very experienced. I came in with a picture of what I wanted and it looks disastrous. Read Less

In response to the previous review and the reply by the owner, I feel as though this needs to be addressed. I was with Kasey (we were both planning on getting tattoos) and she was CERTAINLY not mistaken. We walked in at 7:30pm (maybe even a little before?) and we were told that "When we are slow, we close early, so we are closing in a half an hour. Sorry, we can't help you." This struck me because regardless of how busy you are the rest of the day, if someone walks in wanting work done an hour and a half before your closing time, should they really be turned away? Mind you, there was NO ONE else in the shop....so the matter of being "too busy" is irrelevant. YES, your staff was there, but they told us that we could not get our work done that night. I don't know why we were turned away and then there was subsequently a piercing done at 8pm, but frankly that's besides the point and has no bearing on why we were turned away as we were there a half an hour before that. We called earlier that day to make sure that we didn't need appointments, and we were told that they would be open until 9pm, that it was walk ins only as they had no appointments scheduled so it was first come first served. Wouldn't this have been an appropriate time to let us know that if they were slow, they may close early instead of letting us arrive there only to be told they were closing an hour early? In addition to all of this, when we pulled up the OPEN sign was still on. If you're not taking customers, maybe you should turn that off so that there is no confusion. So in reply to the owner's reply to Kasey's review below: No, it is not fraudulent. No, she was most definitely NOT mistaken. We were both there and we were both very disappointed with the entire experience. I am not one to leave reviews very often, but I feel as though I need to based on the experience and the response from the owner. Thanks for your time. Read Less

One week ago I got a piercing at Sink the Ink.  Everything was fine, and the person who pierced it did a great job.  However, one week later the front of the jewelry fell off, and nothing was left to hold the jewelry in.  I wanted to get the jewelry fixed immediately so that the new piercing didn't have to fall out, and get redone. This happened on a Sunday.  I went in to sink the ink asking for a replacement jewel to put back in the post.  I was greeted by one of the most rude and unprofessional people I have ever dealt with.  Unfortunately I did not get his name.  He was not tattooing anyone so in theory he could have looked up.  Instead he just kept looking down and mumbled that he wasn't the piercer, and couldn't help.  So I asked him what I could do.  He got SO Extremely sassy and said, " I don't know maybe go to another store or something?" "I can't help you I am not a piercer" "Our piercer is only here Sundays and Mondays, there is nothing I can do". I was even willing to put the jewel on myself if he just gave me one.  He said no flat out, didn't even try to work with me. How ridiculous.  I just spent $70 last week getting a piercing at Sink the Ink, and they don't even have the decency to help once their is an issue? The tattoo artist "helping" me was smug, rude and provided no viable options.  This company was willing to take my $70 a week prior, but literally could not even look up to help out once there was an issue.  I could never emphasize enough how terrible that tattoo artist was.  I would have had more luck and equal information asking a rock in the parking lot.  I went to Warrior in New Hope and they were amazing.  So kind and helped right away.  Previously I had gotten multiple piercings done here.  I will no longer do that.  I will recommend Warrior to anyone I can. She was very friendly and able to answer all of our questions. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and there was a point during the session where my sister wasn't feeling well and Megan waited patiently and treated her with care. I have about 12 tattoos from a few different artists but this one is beautiful. The shop was very clean and Megan was great. Got my medusa (upper lip) done by Megan, with the dark hair. She seemed great in the beginning before she started. Horrible experience, and I have 15 other piercings so I'm no stranger.. first she marked my lip off center, and then proceeded to take 10 minutes to put a new mark on my lip, while shaking the whole time.. then there was a random girl in the background, idk if she was an apprentice or whatever, but she was asking a lot of questions about what the piercer was doing.. then when it was time to put the needle through my lip, she was very nervous, and shaking, literally her hands were shaking... so the needle kind of gets stuck half way and when it finally went through and she had to put the jewelry through, which took another 10 minutes because her hands were shaking so bad that she couldn't get the ball onto the bar.. horrible experience and I feel like she shouldn't be a piercer.. on the contrary I got my nipples done there a few months before by barbee, and he was amazing and made me feel really comfortable! Rachel, who just came back from maternity leave, made me feel so comfortable and talked be into it (which I am glad she did). She let me watch her set up and talked me through it. Answered all 4209 questions I had. Rachel made sure they were even, taking the time to examine it. She gave me her cell phone number in case I had any more question. I would not go here for piercings. I had to get mine redone elsewhere because these never healed appropriately. I came to find that the angle was ridiculous that they were done at, & they should've first been pierced with a hoop to make it more comfortable when they'd swell during healing. I did everything I was told to do for cleaning & care. I wasted my money and dealt with nearly 10 months of uncomfortable sensitivity.. only to get the piercings redone and spend even more money. The staff is friendly and relaxed, while still being very professional. They do their jobs well, while making you feel comfortable and easing your nerves. Barbee pierced me most recently and he did a great job. Very patient and precise, he never rushed any part of the process. It seemed that everyone in the shop paid great attention to sterility. Went to Sink the Ink in Doylestown to get my daughter's ears pierced.  Walked in and immediately greeted by staff who were friendly.  Place was super clean.  The woman who did the piercing knew, since my daughter is young, to put a flat back piercing in to be more comfortable for my daughter.  Plus, she was great throughout the ordeal.  I was given clear instruction for care both verbally and on paper.  About 2 weeks later, I didn't do a very stellar job keeping the piercing screwed tight and one fell out.  I had to take my daughter back and see what could be done.  Another woman put a new piece of jewelry in free of charge.  We were in and out in 10 minutes.  While my daughter was understandably pretty pissed, the whole experience couldn't have gone better. WOW! So I have grown up in the Doylestown area and have been completely eager to get work done by Sink the Ink. Upon turning 18 I went to get a meaningful piece done at the Doylestown shop. I went in and was greeted by a gentleman named Steve. I told him my story about my adoption and showed him the words I wished to get. He traced it and put it on my skin. I got tattooed and left. He asked for my number various times, called me sexy and was completely unprofessional when it came to payment and tips. Then as my tattoo healed I realized the whole piece was blown out. I called, furious, and they told me he was fired because of his work. WOW. Thanks a whole ton for even hiring an artist who would do that. Then they told me it would be fixed. Well the girl who "fixed" it, simply outlined the piece in white ink. My birth mothers words looks like a run-y black and grey mess and I am forever stuck with an absolutely terrible tattoo. Let this be your warning. Read Less

I have never given a review on a business before and felt strongly that I needed to post this.  IT IS LONG, BUT BEAR WITH ME...   I live in Seattle and my sister had made an appointment here at 3pm on 7/21/12 for three of us to get a very simple, and deeply meaningful script tattoo of "sisters" on our wrist/forearm.  This simple tattoo had more meaning for us than you could imagine and you honestly don't deserve the back story.I can get over the lack of acknowledgement upon our entering the building - I get it, you're concentrating on finishing a tattoo for another customer...  Or was I mistaking you're looking up and looking back down without even so much as a grunt acknowledgement? ...but OK, several minutes after we got there, you asked if we had an appointment... YEY!!  ...but shouldn't you have this in your bookkeeping?  I can even get over the lack of acknowledgement about running 25 minutes late (even though you didn't apologize or give us a head's up that you were then going to go outside and smoke a cigarette for 7 minutes - yes, I timed it, we all had childcare to pay for)... this now makes the time approx 32 minutes late and to two single moms and a mother who's coming from across the country, it might as well have been 2 hours - time is money, but we'll get to that later...1/ I DO expect that you've, at the very least, looked over the artwork prior to my appointment, maybe even have done some research on the artwork that was sent to you on the 17th.  Instead, you looked at it either before or after your cigarette, can't remember which, but pretty sure it was after...  As I mentioned to you, it took me all of ten minutes on a free font site to find that particular font, and when you rudely and impatiently asked what the font was - well who's getting paid for this tattoo, you or me??2/ I DO expect that if you had any questions or doubts on the very simple artwork, that you would send us a message prior to our appointment that we were on time for (five minutes early, in fact).  3/ I DO expect that on your 3rd attempt at the artwork where we very politely told you twice it wasn't looking like the picture, that you would NOT simply go into the back, blow up the picture, print it, then trace it and call it done...4/  I DO NOT expect for you to trace it again and again with the same outcome when we say it wasn't looking the same as the picture.5/ I DO expect if you were going to go "through the trouble" of printing it and tracing it, that it at least resemble what we sent to you and oh, at least fit on my wrist as in the picture - or was this wrap around art??  6/ Remember when you said you felt after tracing it, you needed to open up the "e" and adjust the "t" and the "r" so that it had your "stamp on it"?  Yeah, remember when I said that we were going to wear this for the rest of our lives and we just wanted the way it looked in the picture and you again told me that it was your "handywork" and if anyone asked where you got it....  Well, I am calling your bullsh*t...  and so have the 6 other tattoo professionals I have since spoken with.  7/ Remember when you and your manager refused to give back our deposit (never mentioning upon making the appointment that it was non-refundable), and said it was because you had reserved the time for this tattoo, which now, by the way was going on 45-50 minutes after our initially scheduled time - well that is just poor business...  If you take this post down, I will just repost.  I'll be putting this same review on any website for Sink the Ink I can find. Thanks a lot for wasting an hour of our time, for not being stand-up enough to give back a $50 deposit for something it was clear you didn't want to do, and for having us spend $60 on top of all this for childcare.   I can't fully describe how rude and unprofessional this establishment is - collectively, my sisters and I have over 24 hours of "ink" - which may not seem like a lot to the folks at Sink the Ink, but even if we didn't have any, should never have been treated the way we were.  I have never felt so belittled, judged, and disregarded as a paying customer anywhere else for anything.  No, we didn't get our deposit back from you, but guess what, 6 hours later, we each had a tattoo of EXACTLY what we wanted and rest assured, our friends and our friends of friends and their friends of friends will never be going  there. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and there was a point during the session where my sister wasn't feeling well and Megan waited patiently and treated her with care. I have about 12 tattoos from a few different artists but this one is beautiful. The shop was very clean and Megan was great. I know I found my new tattoo spot and I will be going back for more of Megan’s art. Read Less

After much contemplation I decided to get my nipples pierced. I went with a girlfriend who got her septum done first and after seeing that done, I was sure I was making the wrong decision. Sink the Ink gave me an amazing experience! Read Less

Over the past few years I've been to Sink the Ink for a few body piercings, and every time has been an absolutely excellent experience. My piercings are healing beautifully and painlessly, and I absolutely love them! Thanks Sink the Ink! Read Less
