We were on our way to another tattoo shop when I happened to read a review posted by @Baby Blue ... in it he called the shop a "estrogen tank filled with children of the corn".... and from that we decided that we just had to go and get tattooed there!!!! This Body Art studio is the best place to possibly go to make you feel comfortable and at ease. I went in for a walk in appointment to get my tongue pierced today 12/26/17 and three of the artists were waiting at the front counter, including Jaime who did my piercing today. As soon as I walked in, they greeted me and told me the piercing will be quick and easy. I got to pick out 2 gems for the top ball of my piercing and then I was ready to go. Jaime introduced himself and got to know a little bit about me. He explained the procedure, what to expect, and what he needs me to do to cooperate. I had Jessica do a tattoo based off of one of my favorite Green Day songs ever, Still Breathing, and it came out beautiful. She worked with me and gave some real good recommendations for the design and it turned out 10 times better than I envisioned it. She was very professional and I could easily tell that she prioritized in making sure that you leave the shop with an amazing work of art on your body. Went in to get a daith piercing and was scared to death. This was my first real piercing and I had no idea what to expect and I was terrified of the needle but Dave and Rachel were absolutely awesome. They both helped me calm down then Dave did the piercing itself so quickly I really didn't feel that much at all. (Giving blood is worse by far!) And Rachel made sure I understood how to take care of my new piercing and didn't fall on my face when I forgot to breathe. XD I will definitely be coming back for more piercings in the future! I have been coming to Alter Ego for over a year now and I have recommended everyone possible to them. Jessica is my main artist. She has done multiple of my tattoos and each one is absolutely beautiful. Aaron is working on my little mermaid sleeve. His passion for disney is what drew me in the most, but his work is phenomenal. Made an appointment for my first tattoo with Jessica and was nervous as heck. Everyone in the shop was so super nice and that helped calm my nerves! Jess is amazing! She made my first tattoo experience awesome. Took the time to show me she was using brand new needles and during the session took time to ask if I needed a break or not. Dave has done both my daith and tragus piercings. When I got my tragus done, I passed out. Dave did everything he could to make sure I was comfortable before leaving the studio. He gave me a popcicle, and sat with me until I felt safe to drive home. I was so at ease that when I started experiencing migraines in 2016, the only person I could go to to hopefully get some relief, was Dave. He quickly pierced my daith, and never made me feel out of place when I expressed concerns about passing out again. I didn't, though! Yay! I haven't had as many migraines since, so if you're debating getting this piercing done for relief, it might just work for you! Both of my piercings have healed beautifully. I took my daughter to Alter Ego to get an industrial piercing for her 16th birthday. Dave correctly assessed that it wouldn’t be a good choice for her due to the anatomical structure of her ear (it would have hidden the piercing). After she spent several minutes looking at the many pictures on the wall trying to decide what else to get, he told her to go home and think it over because he didn’t want her to choose something she didn’t really love. Imagine a business owner w...ho is more concerned about the welfare of the customer than making a quick buck! Quite refreshing and impressive. Because of his great attitude, we did return and she got a conch piercing. Again, Dave was courteous, patient, and professional. I respect all the artists, Sarah is just an all around awesome person. She may not have done any work on me, but she was great on Ink Master, and when I talked with her at the shop. Ryan is one of the best artists I've ever met. So down to earth, but at the same time, tells it like it is when he needs to. I brought my 5 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced. Jamie was incredibly nice and very communicative with my daughter which she loved. Jamie was very thorough and explained everything to my daughter. After Jamie started to pierce her first ear my daughter freaked. Jamie was very calm and completely understanding. She tried to reassure her but allowed her to sit and calm down and was incredibly patient. My daughter wanted nothing to do with it but Jamie (and her husband) were so understanding. Since I had already paid and I was thinking about getting my own cartilage pierced, Jamie was able to pierce mine instead of my daughter's. They even said that if she ever changes her mind that she is welcome back at any time. I definitely won't go anywhere else for piercings and I look forward to getting a tattoo there in the future.
