I wanted to personally thank Ken and Bernadette for my awesome experience in the shop. I was very nervous about getting my 1st tattoo so late in life. I walked in not knowing what to expect. Kenny was extremely polite and professional and put me completely at ease. I came loaded with ideas and he patiently put them all together and created my own personal piece of art! Tommy and Kenny are awesome. Tommy has done 4 tattoos on me and all came out great and healed in a reasonable time. The shop is laid back, organized and super clean. This was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had. I went in with two of my friends wanting to all get a small tattoo. When we called before we came in the artist sounded very nice and welcoming and then when we got there, the space was very clean and neat, however the one artist was very rude about not wanting to do the tattoos. The other artist did it, and it took minimal amount of time. He drew up the tattoo and when we suggested a little tweak in the piece, he acted like it was a big deal. He didn't wrap the tattoo and we were rushed out the door. He made $150 off of less than 5 minutes of work (set up included) and treated us like he truly did not care. To start off, everyone at the tattoo shop was very unprofessional. It was a last minute idea for a tattoo we went to a few different shops and they were all closed. We called before we got there and they told us to come on in. When we got there they had asked us what we wanted and once we told them the one tattoo artist refused to do it. The other guy did it. It took less than five minutes for three of us to get our tattoos and he didn't even wrap them. This place is clean, neat, , BUT has bad tattoo artist!! I just had two done on me and one done on my son!! 1 1/2 years of pain Went there 2x got another one at another location. The two i got there one was in 2004, the ink has bled. The last one i got there. Colors crossed, shady lines. Missed spots on colors. Wish they did it better. Worse part, it was 18 months of pain. It took 18 months for the pain to subside. Showers hurt like hell. Forget shaving. It was on my leg. I called they said it would get better. But i was on a trip from CA to philly. Spent 2 weeks there and got a tattoo. I got one at another locations 3 months later and it didn't hurt one day. I am not faint of heart, i told him several times it was hurting bad. Ive gotten other tattoos and were never that bad. There are better cleaner places!!! Read Less

Stay away from Painted Flesh. All they do is trace things there is no real art work. The artist Kenny that tattooed me blew out my lines they look terrible the other 2 tattoo artists acted like hungry wolves when I walked in. I felt like I was going to be attacked. And Kenny took about 6 smoke breaks and all I got were 2 names. And I had to listen to his problems with his relationship while he stayed on the phone for the time he did tattoo me. I found everyone in the shop to be very friendly. I had my first and second tattoos done there by Tom Jr. I told him what I wanted for my 2nd tat., he drew it up, and it was exactly what I wanted. This is a great tattoo shop. You can walk in and get a piece right off the wall from their pics or you can have someone custom draw you a piece from scratch or change and fix any pics you bring in.
