I visited Black Moth one evening with my husband and walked out with an appointment for a tattoo! I have had an idea for a tattoo for a long time but was very nervous about the process and hadn't yet found an artist that could faithfully represent the artwork that I wanted. It is a drawing done by my sister years ago. I arrived on the day of my appointment expecting to spend several hours there, and before I knew it, my tattoo was finished! The whole process took just over an hour. Steve is very talented and knowledgeable and made me feel at ease. He did such a wonderful job and gave me thorough care instructions so my tattoo healed quickly and beautifully. The studio area is very clean and it is clear that Steve takes great care to ensure that the equipment is sterile and in top working condition. I felt very comfortable getting my tattoo here and I am thrilled with the result! Can't wait to go back for my next ink! There is also a gallery with the most unique collection of rotating artists I have seen outside of Philly. Steve personally curates the art in the gallery, and it is incredible. Would recommend a visit to view the shows. Looking forward to the next one! Photos below were taken a few days after the tattoo was done.

Just had my fifth tattoo done at Black Moth and I was so impressed! Steve was so patient, incredibly helpful and kind, and a really awesome guy! He worked with us to make sure we got exactly what we wanted, took his time, and made us feel right at home. The price was right, his studio is clean and inviting, and the artwork on the walls was beautiful to look at. Whether this is your first or tenth tattoo, go to Steve! Would definitely go back again!

I had a great experience with Steve at Black Moth. The shop is clean, inviting, and Steve is awesome to work with! I gave him some inspiration photos of what I was looking for and the design he came up with is pretty much exactly what I envisioned but couldn't draw myself. It was done in two sessions, about a month apart. I absolutely love my tattoo, and get a little thrill every time I look down at my foot and see it. I'll be going there for all new tattoos and touchups in the future!

After avoiding downloading the Yelp app for years I did so just to leave a review for Steve's new shop. I truly feel that it is something special when compared to others because of the galleries, Steve's attention to detail when tattooing, and the welcoming environment that he has created. I recommend it to anyone and I won't go anywhere else in the area to be tattooed.

He is also incredibly creative (along with talented) and he has come up with concepts that have led to my most complimented tattoos.

I had a tattoo done today at Steve's beautiful and modern studio. All around wonderful experience from the ambience to the art work to Steve's inviting personality. Just a pleasure. I can't wait to return for future tattoos and/or the occasional art exhibits that take place there. This place is relatively new hidden gem of a tattoo studio and one that's badly needed on the Mainline.

I visited Black Moth one evening with my husband and walked out with an appointment for a tattoo! I have had an idea for a tattoo for a long time but was very nervous about the process and hadn't yet found an artist that could faithfully represent the artwork that I wanted. It is a drawing done by my sister years ago. I arrived on the day of my appointment expecting to spend several hours there, and before I knew it, my tattoo was finished! The whole process took just over an hour. Steve is very talented and knowledgeable and made me feel at ease. He did such a wonderful job and gave me thorough care instructions so my tattoo healed quickly and beautifully. Just had my fifth tattoo done at Black Moth and I was so impressed! Steve was so patient, incredibly helpful and kind, and a really awesome guy! He worked with us to make sure we got exactly what we wanted, took his time, and made us feel right at home. The price was right, his studio is clean and inviting, and the artwork on the walls was beautiful to look at. Whether this is your first or tenth tattoo, go to Steve! Would definitely go back again!

I gave him some inspiration photos of what I was looking for and the design he came up with is pretty much exactly what I envisioned but couldn't draw myself.
