Absolutely love Kawbi! Both my husband and I have Kayla do our tattoos at least once a year for the past few years. That is 8 regular, one cover-up and one rework of an old tattoo from a different artist. I am so impressed by her work. I get a ton of compliments about all of the ones she has done (more than any of my other tattoos done by other artists) As far as the company goes it is clean of course but I really like everyone I have met there. I have 2 tattoos done by the now closed MPG tattoo shop in Salem. Karissa has done 5 of my other tattoos and I love her work and energy. Only reason she hasn't done my last recent tattoo was because I live in Oklahoma now. Definitely recommend Karissa! :) Read Less

I would like to state that this review is NOT of the main tattoo artist (Karissa), I cannot comment on her talents. Judging by the reviews she must be a good artist. This review is of my experience with Kayla. I had an arm piece done in June with this artist, she didn't draw anything up until the day before the appointment and proceeded to do the entire half sleeve in about 4 hours while charging for 6hrs. After 2 subsequent "touch up" sessions I had to live with the tattoo which lacked depth, detail and even perspective for about 3 embarrassing months at which time I had my current tattoo artist take a break from my side piece we were working on to do 2 sessions on the arm in order to salvage it. Luckily Kayla's lack of shading and detail allowed for the piece to be saved. If you get tattoo work here DO NOT get it done through Kayla. I've had over 30 hrs of tattoo work done and her's was the worst hands down. Read Less

So about 2 years ago I had a tattoo done for my aunt who had cancer and passed away from it. After numerous times of calling texting, with no luck of getting hold of the guy who started my tattoo. I was left with a unfinished peice and left without closure. After 6 months of debating and waiting I finally reached out to kawboi Tattoo shop where I was comforted with the promise that Kayla could finish my peice. Today Kayla finished my peice gave me what I wanted let her play around with some colors to add. I absolutely LOVE KARISSA and her other half (lol)!! They are both super sweet and Karissa cracks me up!!. The shop is clean and she does fabulous work. She actually gets the idea of what you want as opposed to someone who thinks they get it.  She did a "portrait" of my dog inspired by Dean Russo. I had a makeover tattoo by Karissa (one of the owners of Kawbi Tattoo), and it turned out better than my expectations!  The shop is clean, bright, and well organized.  Karissa is knowledgeable, and a gifted artist.   She will listen to your ideas, as well as input some of her own so you will get the most amazing tattoo as the end result.  My daughter also got a wrist tattoo by Karissa, and it too, is perfect!Kawbi Tattoo was voted Best of Salem in 2012, and has been honored with other artistic awards for their tattoo work.  You will not be disappointed if you go there!
