I came by this place looking for some good tattoo therapy, with my hands COVERED in pen marks to depict (messily) what I wanted done. And although he didn't know it, Chris took on a lot more than my two hands of line work and symbols, and was able to pull me out of a dark place with his tattoo artistry and friendly conversation. My husband and I just stopped by there on a whim.  I've never had a tattoo and was looking for something small, not for public viewing, on my breast.  I knew exactly what I wanted, a half moon, half sun, facing each other with faces.  I did not have a photo with me.I explained what I wanted and even asked if they could go on the internet to find an example.  This is a very common picture to find.The man on the left and the woman watching us from the right didn't really seem to give a damn about helping me.  I was given a cost, probably a fair price, but that was it.   I walked  way feeling as if they were not interested at all.  I've seen other 5 star reviews here.  Probably people that have several tattoos and don't need the handholding.  If you are a newbie, DO NOT come here. my first tattoo (of my dogs paw print) was done here and it was perfect, came out just as I pictured it ! the gentlemen that did my tattoo was very helpful and calming through the process. It was nice to see that cleanliness was a priority as well, made sure everything was perfectly wiped down before we started. Wasn't exactly what I wanted, well really not even close. The upside it that it turned out great. I don't love it but the work was solid and it's a great piece, just not In a style I would have liked it to be. Todd did a fantastic job, was super with customer service and very polite. Highly recommended and price was fantastic. Not my first tattoo and won't be my last. I will definitely go back again but will be very specific about the style I am looking for before having it done. I love the artwork of my tattoo and it was done fairly well, but the business itself has not so good service. The person who did my tattoo was extremely unfriendly and did not respond to questions properly. I felt extremely nervous because I didn't want someone who I didn't trust to be permanently mutilating my body. Overall, I would not come back to this business for future tattoos. Read Less

I don't have to many tattoos but I have a significant amount, enough to experience several other tattoo places. And this place is far the best place I've gone to and continue to go to. The staff is super chill, no preassure,  their designs are amazing and their pricing are reasonable. I've been going to Chris whose got a natural gifting and whose just laid back. I was there on 2/25/15. Where I met Chris my artist, really cool guy. The work I had done was a shoulder to bicep piece on my right arm. While he was working on my arm we were just making small talk and had a great time. When he was done with my piece, my tattoo looked professional. Great job! My tattoo did turn out good, it was just a super basic outline and the price was really great. The three stars is solely for the customer service given to me by the tattoo artist, he may have been doing tattoos for however long but he was just vulgar, did not act professional in my opinion and did not answer my questions at all. I had a few pictures for the colors and fills that I wanted for my tattoo and I asked if he could appraise me a price and how long it might take to get it done and he said something along the lines of "Oh it just depends." And I was really confused because I had exactly what I wanted right there in front of us, he could have just answered the question, I don't see how it could have depended on anything I just wanted a ballpark estimation. He cracked lude, unprofessional jokes the entire time he was tattooing me, and stupid life stories about gross things that I don't care about. He gave me no information about aftercare, even though i already know the basics of tattoo aftercare it's always nice to see that the artist cares enough to tell you anyway. The outline, like I said, was good. Just basic. I ended up going to another shop to have the color filled in because my experience with this shop was too frustrating. If you can handle annoying jokes and no follow up appointment then go for it, I have a friend who went here and got tattooed by another artist in the shop and she enjoyed her experience, and my cousins were the ones who took me here to get my tattoo and they love this artist. Not particularly my taste in people, maybe it was an off day for his personality, but first impressions like that last for me so I won't be going back here. Read Less

I was in Salem for business, and was lucky enough to get an appointment with Omar. I wanted a tattoo of my guitar and I emailed him a picture. When I showed up to the shop he already had an awesome design sketched out. I brought the guitar with me and he looked at it as he was doing the tattoo and got every single detail perfect. Everyone in the shop was really cool, and it was apparent that cleanliness is a top priority there. The best tattoo experience ever! Cassidy did my tattoo at this shop, but everyone in the shop was really cool, friendly and complimentary. They mingled with those who were getting inked and tagging along alike. Omar is a well-know tattoo artist and is featured in tattoo magazines. He is also pretty well-known in the Christian tattoo world. Omar's faith does not mean he is a Bible-beater, which is totally the opposite. Our band was playing in Salem for two nights, and we called the shop to see if they could get us in on short notice.  They were very accommodating.  Both my hubby and i got tattoos by Dean, as Omar was busy all day with another piece.  Dean worked with us, talked about what we wanted and what he could do, and then got to work. Dean was very respectful and realistic, and to the point, which is what both my hubby and i like. This is a shop worth noticing. All of the artists at the shop want to give you and will give you a piece of art you will be happy to show off. I know one big thing people always ask when you tell them about a tattoo shop is: "well how much do they charge?". The answer to this question is one of the awesome things about all the artists at All American. They can kick out work in an hour that would take most artists 2-3. Now you are probably thinking that they are just fast and willing to sacrifice quality for speed. This is not the case. I get the most compliments on the pieces done at All American over my other work. They also are willing to take on custom work for you. This is a shop with skill in being able to make any vision you have a real work of body art.Beyond the amazing work All American does they also want to be your friend. I don't mean just over the internet. They are great people with real personalities that aren't afraid of big jobs and won't mock you for wanting just kanji or a star. You will often hear Omar say: "You say cliche' I say Classy". The yearly shop parties are also worthy of note.So next time you are trying to figure out where to get your next tattoo done, don't allow yourself to fall victim to just going some where close, because it's there.
