My 4 year old asked to have her ears pierced, so to addictions we went. After a short consult we were onto having each ear pierced separately she didn't flinch or cry one bit. It was very quick and they were so friendly and kind. My daughter requested two separate colors one pink one purple. And there was no issue with accommodating us whatsoever. As a child I was taken to a place with a piercing gun at 4 and still remember the pain and how hard I cried. Every experience has been frustrating. Had to come in 3 different times just to downsize a bar. The first time I was turned away because my piercing hadn't healed enough and the piercer explained I would probably end up downsizing twice do to some minimal swelling that was left (okay, reasonable, and very generous to let me know as to not charge me twice). Wish I'd gotten his name. It wasn't Aaron it was a different guy. Second time I came in was completely packed and I was told it would take over 30 minutes because of the line ahead of me. Personal opinion, if you have a customer that's already paid for a new bar come in, they should take priority. Especially because the process is so quick. I had to leave due to a time constraint. Third time I came in was again a 30 minute wait. I downsized to a hoop from a bar in my lower lip. When Bree put in the jewelry before getting the bead in I instantly was uncomfortable with the size. I asked her if it was going to close any smaller and she said no, and if I got a smaller hoop it would be digging in to my lip. After the bead was in she told me because I still had some swelling I would probably have to come back in and pay for a smaller size again. If you knew I was going to have to get a smaller size again, why wouldn't you tell me to wait? And honestly, I've had my lip pierced before. This hoop is way too big. It's not comfortable. A smaller size would not have been "digging in to my lip" it would have been snug but fine. Especially if the swelling went down more. So basically I paid for a downsizing and didn't even get downsized. The only thing she was concerned with was selling me an oil to help the swelling. Then I go to the counter to ask about using my old jewelry for a new piercing. Was told I cannot do this even if I pay for the piercing. I asked if I could at least use the gem I purchased from there (a $52 purchase). Yes, I can use the gem but they have to run it through the autoclave which is a long process. So wait, why can't we run the bar through the autoclave? This place is all about taking your money and not about true customer service. I will be going elsewhere from now on. Read Less

I’ve gone to many different places and I’ve had a total of 7 people work on me. I’ve never gone back for a second tattoo with the same artist. Except for Chad at addictions. Aaron had excellent reviews & im so grateful he was actually the one to do my piercing. He was kind, gentle, patient and totally rad! Best of all he was professional and FAST! The first time I went and had a piercing was great but had issues with it afterward. Second time I went I waited in front for service, mailman had even delivered things and laid them on the counter, still waited and finally someone showed up. She didn't even know mail was on the counter till I told her. Went to get my new nose ring in, picked the ring and had it put in. The person who changed my ring pulled it pretty hard and I guess left it loose cause the next night it fell out and closed while I slept. I guess it's a blessing disguise but I'm going to find a new place to probably get a new one. I'm just happy there's no scar! Read Less

I have been going to Addictions since 2001. All of my peircings have been done by Emily. She is the main reason why I still go there. I did get some ink work done there, but slowed down on the ink. I just recently got done with a "less jewlery" phase and now I am going to be getting them back. I look forward to seeing the "crew" at Addictions again to meet all my peircing needs. I always speak highly of Addictions, refer as many people as I can to them, and I keep coming back...addicting!! I highly suggest anyone who is a little nervous on a tattoo or peircing to go on in and ask questions, they will help you out in any possible way they can to help calm those nerves down. On a whim I decided to get pierced, so i asked friend who she goes to, bc the piercing i'm after is uncommon. she told me somewhere else in salem, and that they were already closed for the day. she then said that she'd heard some great things about addictions!So I go there and ask for a lip piercing, but not just any piercing, the new Princess Leia piercing. Not very many places have done this one, which is why it has taken me a few months to actually get it!I meet my piercer, Emily, and she has the piercing I want!! Fate?!
