I had a vague idea of what I wanted and met with Chantel for a consultation. She took notes and made some doodles, paid a deposit and set a date. When I came in for my appointment I was amazed at what she had created for me, it was even better than I had hoped. She was personable, fun and professional. The other folks in the store were also friendly and professional. My tattoo turned out beautiful and I am very happy with the experience! I would highly recommend.

Yesterday, I got my first tattoo (I'm 44 years old). Not knowing how it normally works, I walked in to Sellwood Tattoo and was greeted by Nicole and her amazing, warm and sunny disposition. I looked through each of the artist's books and really liked what I saw from Derek. I reached out by email and got a same day response, even though it was his day off. We exchanged a couple emails and we scheduled a consultation to go over my design idea and understand a bit more of the process and what to expect. He answered all my questions and we reviewed designs a couple days later. Derek's design was spot on--and I can't understate the value of that. He listened, asked questions and made suggestions. What he came back with was exactly what I wanted and if it wasn't he was going to make sure it was.We scheduled a day a few weeks out and the rest is history. I spent a great 3 hours in his chair and I came away with something I am super proud of and love. tldr;This shop is amazing. I had a fantastic experience with Derek.

I have been going to sellwood tattoo for a year now and getting work done by Chantell. She is a great artist that has turned small ideas I’ve had into beautiful pieces of art. Derek and Emi are also awesome artists! The shop is great and everyone is really cool and it’s an easy place to get work done

Choosing a tattoo artist can be a difficult process. After several months of reviewing portfolios, I decided that Chantel's portfolio spoke to me. I wanted a custom design melding various elements, and from all accounts, custom pieces are Chantel's specialty.
On October 17th (2017) I sent Chantel an email explaining that I wanted to get a custom piece designed, and would like more info on the process. I never got a response to that email.
On January 28th (2018), I sent a follow up email; I received an automated response that included, "my response time may take a few days," so I waited, but when I hadn't heard anything after five days, I sent a third email. In this email I advised that I would be in town for a few days in February, and asked to schedule a consultation in person. Again I got the same automated response.
On February 9th, I wrote my fourth email which said, "Can you PLEASE confirm receipt of this email and let me know why you haven't responded to me. Are you selecting not to take me on as a client? Or was it an oversight with my last three emails?"
Again, I got an automated response, so I know the email went to the right email address, but I never got an actual response.
In a last ditch effort, I called the shop on February 26th, and left a message requesting a call back or a response to one of my four emails.
It is now March 3rd and I have not gotten any responses from my four emails or my voicemail.
I am very disappointed that this shop does not treat customers better.

I tried to track down Chantel to talk about my first tattoo. I emailed, called and stopped by the shop, but never got a response. I've got better things to do than try to convince people that I'm worthy of their time. Just got a beautiful custom job done at another shop and am quite happy.

She was extremely patient with the three of us (we are quite loud and annoying) and we took most of the time deciding on the font for the tattoo. All the praise! Great job. Mary loves it. Maybe I'll come back and have her do mine as well :)

I had a vague idea of what I wanted and met with Chantel for a consultation. She took notes and made some doodles, paid a deposit and set a date. When I came in for my appointment I was amazed at what she had created for me, it was even better than I had hoped. She was personable, fun and professional. Yesterday, I got my first tattoo (I'm 44 years old). Not knowing how it normally works, I walked in to Sellwood Tattoo and was greeted by Nicole and her amazing, warm and sunny disposition. I have been going to sellwood tattoo for a year now and getting work done by Chantell. She is a great artist that has turned small ideas I’ve had into beautiful pieces of art.
