Lombard Street Tattoo, in my opinion, is the best tattoo shop in Portland. I'm new to Portland, heavily tattooed with room for a few more (there's always room for more), and needed a new artist. So, I researched extensively. Spending almost 5 hours looking through a majority of the 350 total tattoo shops in Portland, viewing each artists' portfolio. Not only was Jessie's (I went with her because of her AMAZING Traditional American work) incredibly impressive, but EVERY SINGLE artist there at the shop has an immense amount of talent with a tattoo gun, and I'd PROUDLY be inked by any of them. The shop was VERY clean, ALL employees were really friendly and personable, and they actually had good music playing! Most of my tattoos have been done with blaring death metal for my hours long sessions. Jessie, as I'm positive all the artists there would, went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my tattoo. I'll be back for more. You guys rock!!! Thanks for my mermaid, and thanks even more for covering up that old tattoo on the back of my arm! Two tattoos from Jessie with many more to come as soon as I am back in Portland. Okay the break down, 2 reasons why I love this tattoo shop and 3 reasons why I love the artist Christina Platis(@tattoosbytina) or called Tina.Shop1) CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. I used to work for a hospital research lab... so I know what aseptic technique is. This is the cleanest tattoo parlor I've ever been to. It is very well taken care of, all artists properly prepped and equipped with sanitized equipment and working space. I doubt, unless there's like a tattoo parlor by doctors, that there is a more well kept parlor while maintaining a welcoming environment... which brings me to....Shop2) YOU ARE WELCOME HERE. For example different religions/morals/lifestyles, even conflicting beliefs/views... you are welcome and you will feel welcomed. If you are the not average joe or the average joe... you are welcome here and everyone in the shop will do their best to respect you and make you feel cool~. You will be treated with the same respect you give. Tina1) RESPECTFUL, KIND, & GENTLE. The tattoo I was getting was Biblically based. I don't know Tina's views, but I could take a guess that they weren't the same as mine. Even so, she was extremely respectful and gave me just the same unbiased attention. I know tattoo artists out there that would not give the same care and respect Tina did. She made me feel appreciated/respected as a person. She also took into consideration my pain (getting tattooed and healing tattoo) while working, made sure I was as comfortable as could be, and that she never exceeded my limit of pain. Just overall amazing. Lord willing I'd have all my tattoos by her and if not her, her treatment of me is now the standard of care in my book, I'd accept no less from a tattoo artist. Tina2) BEAUTIFUL ARTWORK. I am so satisfied with her artwork I keep her business card in my wallet and anyone who compliments my tattoo, and is curious about the artist I just hand them her card, and share my amazing experiences with her as my artist. Look her up to see her artwork. She likes american traditional but by no means is she limited to that style, she excels in all areas. Tina3) THAT COOL KID YOU WISH YOU WERE CHILDHOOD FRIENDS WITH. I was visiting Portland this weekend and was lucky to get a tattoo appointment with Jessi Preston. I was super nervous about the area I was getting tattooed just because I knew it was going to be more sensitive then any other tattoo I've gotten. She and the whole shop made me and my fiancé feel very comfortable and valued. Even during the paperwork they asked for the pronouns that we go by!! This shop was super clean and professional and also great for conversation! I hope to plan to come to Portland once a year just to get some more pieces from this kick ass shop.

I've had three tattoos done by Jessi and I'm counting down the minutes until I can get more! My experiences at Lombard Street have all been ones for the books. I travel from Tacoma to Portland to get work done by Jessi and I wouldn't have it any other way. Everyone at the shop must be cut from the same cloth because they all are truly such class-acts. If you're nervous for your first tattoo, looking for something different or just want to get some solid work that'll last a lifetime I highly recommend this shop! Bold, strong, sticker tattoos that will look brand new forever. I promise you'll be a customer for life.

I got a piece by Jessi Preston last year, and another from Nic Eldridge today. Not only is their art impressive, but they are genuinely rad human beings who know how to be professional in a relaxed and personal manner. Everyone I've interacted with here has been beyond great. Give these people your money in exchange for tattoos. You will be happy.

I've been to Lombard Street twice now! I got my first tattoo done by Jhon and my second done by Jessi.Jhon was super-chill! I live in SE Portland, but a friend of mine had a similar-sized tattoo done by him, with a similar placement, and it was roughly the style I wanted--so I took the bus up to St. John's to get one done, as well! I had an idea of a thing I wanted, but without many reference photos, so Jhon sketched something out and we went with it. It involved a couple hours of linework, followed by an hour or two of shading and color, and it turned out great.Worth saying: I didn't actually have any tattoos before this one, and even though it wasn't a ~full sleeve~ or a ~full back~ tattoo, I was still pretty nervous about it. Jhon made the process really comfortable and reasonable to do in a single sitting! If he hadn't moved back to Miami, I'd get a second piece done by him; he occasionally does guest spots, apparently, so I might still.My second tattoo was done by Jessi! I got a smaller piece about the size of a hand on my forearm. I had more reference photos for this tattoo than I did with my previous one, but she sketched something out just the same, and we ended up going with the original sketch for this tattoo, as well! It only took a couple hours, so we didn't take any breaks, and it also turned out great.I like traditional tattoos with a lot of color, and I get compliments on both pieces from random folks at least a couple times a day. I wouldn't be surprised if I went back in a couple of months to get either one of the tattoos extended.10/10, would go back again!

I made an appointment with Nic Eldridge while visiting friends in Portland. I sent Nic a picture of my arm with a Paypal deposit, and he sketched a traditional eagle and snake design for me in advance, which looked awesome. When I arrived, he expertly placed the stencil around my existing tattoos and got to work. It was a great experience. Nic and the other artists were friendly and fun to chat with throughout the process. He did a phenomenal job, and I couldn't be happier with how the piece turned out. It took a little longer than anticipated, but I didn't mind paying for the additional time. Nic does great work, and I hope I get to visit again sometime. Highly recommended.

So I haven't actually visits this location, however I was tattooed by Jessi this week while she was visiting NYC. When it comes to tattoo appointments I'm the queen psyching myself out (social anxiety squaddddd!!!). That being said, Jessi was so kind and professional that I ended up having an insanely good experience. If you are thinking about working with Jessi- DO IT, she's a gem of a human being and one hell of an artist.

I live two streets away from this shop, and since it was so close, I decided to stop in. Jessi Preston, immediately walked me, I gave her a few ideas of what I was looking for and she said she'd have everything ready to go the following day. When I came in, the drawing she came up with was stunning. She tattoos quickly, yet super solid. I was extremely impressed, and the her traditional work is exactly what I was looking for. This is my go-to place now. I have been a returning customer for just shy of a year. Not only did Jessi have such a great personality, she actually cares about people, listens and remembers what you guys talk about, like follows up with you about something you've shared with her months prior, which most people don't do. I always have a great time seeing her, super uplifting personality and a great artist. Nothing but friendly faces at this place, I recommend it a million times over.

He was so understanding since it was my first tattoo and he did such a wonderful job. They were very clean and all so friendly! I highly recommend this place for all your tattoo wants and needs.

However, they were full that day and recommend LST. They took me that day and I got a perfect piece by Seth. I went back the other day and got something else done by Olivia and she did an amazing job. She was the sweetest and so welcoming and friendly. This tattoo signified a lot about my own survival in the last 1 1/2 years and Roll discussed this with me before my tattoo. I told him my vision, sent him some pictures and he took it from there. I told him the colors I liked and he painted a beautiful personal icon on my arm, to remind me of how far I have come. The Lombard Street Parlour is worth a trip in itself, they have great decor and great antiques, a feast for the eyes. A beautiful, clean, professional environment. THANKS, ROLL! I can't say enough good things about this shop. I called in and spoke with Ellen about getting a traditional piece done with Seth. He put a lot of time into the drawing and ended up giving me an awesome tattoo. The shop itself was perfect, extremely clean and filled with great people, which is important when spending hours less than two feet from someones face. They're also extremely fair with pricing. The work I had done today was small, but means the world to me. Knuckles can be tricky to maneuver, but I'm quite pleased. Ellen was amazing from the get go. Tattoo studios are a dime a dozen in this town. I've had some work done and have shopped around. My typical experience has been somewhat negative. I haven't ever felt welcome, just mostly intimidated by the staff, almost as if I'm not hip enough to be there. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and encourage...d to ask any and all questions I had. Ellen did a wonderful job. The work is clean and crisp, especially given the surface area she had to work with. She's also incredibly interesting to talk to. I probably could have stayed another hour just to shoot the shit with her. I'm very happy and will definitely be back! Highly recommended and I'll certainly be sending referrals. Thanks LST. Lombard Street Tattoo, in my opinion, is the best tattoo shop in Portland. I'm new to Portland, heavily tattooed with room for a few more (there's always room for more), and needed a new artist. So, I researched extensively. Spending almost 5 hours looking through a majority of the 350 total tattoo shops in Portland, viewing each artists' portfolio. Not only was Jessie's (I went with her because of her AMAZING Traditional American work) incredibly impressive, but EVERY SINGLE artist there at the shop has an immense amount of talent with a tattoo gun, and I'd PROUDLY be inked by any of them. The shop was VERY clean, ALL employees were really friendly and personable, and they actually had good music playing! Most of my tattoos have been done with blaring death metal for my hours long sessions. Jessie, as I'm positive all the artists there would, went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my tattoo. I'll be back for more. You guys rock!!! Thanks for my mermaid, and thanks even more for covering up that old tattoo on the back of my arm! Two tattoos from Jessie with many more to come as soon as I am back in Portland. Come see me in Alaska, Jessie!

Okay the break down, 2 reasons why I love this tattoo shop and 3 reasons why I love the artist Christina Platis(@tattoosbytina) or called Tina.Shop1) CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. I used to work for a hospital research lab... so I know what aseptic technique is. This is the cleanest tattoo parlor I've ever been to. It is very well taken care of, all artists properly prepped and equipped with sanitized equipment and working space. I doubt, unless there's like a tattoo parlor by doctors, that there is a more well kept parlor while maintaining a welcoming environment... which brings me to....Shop2) YOU ARE WELCOME HERE. For example different religions/morals/lifestyles, even conflicting beliefs/views... you are welcome and you will feel welcomed. If you are the not average joe or the average joe... you are welcome here and everyone in the shop will do their best to respect you and make you feel cool~. You will be treated with the same respect you give. Tina1) RESPECTFUL, KIND, & GENTLE. The tattoo I was getting was Biblically based. I don't know Tina's views, but I could take a guess that they weren't the same as mine. Even so, she was extremely respectful and gave me just the same unbiased attention. I know tattoo artists out there that would not give the same care and respect Tina did. She made me feel appreciated/respected as a person. She also took into consideration my pain (getting tattooed and healing tattoo) while working, made sure I was as comfortable as could be, and that she never exceeded my limit of pain. Just overall amazing. Lord willing I'd have all my tattoos by her and if not her, her treatment of me is now the standard of care in my book, I'd accept no less from a tattoo artist. Tina2) BEAUTIFUL ARTWORK. I am so satisfied with her artwork I keep her business card in my wallet and anyone who compliments my tattoo, and is curious about the artist I just hand them her card, and share my amazing experiences with her as my artist. I was visiting Portland this weekend and was lucky to get a tattoo appointment with Jessi Preston. I was super nervous about the area I was getting tattooed just because I knew it was going to be more sensitive then any other tattoo I've gotten. She and the whole shop made me and my fiancé feel very comfortable and valued. Even during the paperwork they asked for the pronouns that we go by!! This shop was super clean and professional and also great for conversation! I hope to plan to come to Portland once a year just to get some more pieces from this kick ass shop.

I've had three tattoos done by Jessi and I'm counting down the minutes until I can get more! My experiences at Lombard Street have all been ones for the books. I travel from Tacoma to Portland to get work done by Jessi and I wouldn't have it any other way. Everyone at the shop must be cut from the same cloth because they all are truly such class-acts. If you're nervous for your first tattoo, looking for something different or just want to get some solid work that'll last a lifetime I highly recommend this shop! Bold, strong, sticker tattoos that will look brand new forever. I promise you'll be a customer for life.

Not only is their art impressive, but they are genuinely rad human beings who know how to be professional in a relaxed and personal manner. Everyone I've interacted with here has been beyond great. I've been to Lombard Street twice now! I got my first tattoo done by Jhon and my second done by Jessi.Jhon was super-chill! I live in SE Portland, but a friend of mine had a similar-sized tattoo done by him, with a similar placement, and it was roughly the style I wanted--so I took the bus up to St. John's to get one done, as well! I had an idea of a thing I wanted, but without many reference photos, so Jhon sketched something out and we went with it. It involved a couple hours of linework, followed by an hour or two of shading and color, and it turned out great.Worth saying: I didn't actually have any tattoos before this one, and even though it wasn't a ~full sleeve~ or a ~full back~ tattoo, I was still pretty nervous about it. Jhon made the process really comfortable and reasonable to do in a single sitting! If he hadn't moved back to Miami, I'd get a second piece done by him; he occasionally does guest spots, apparently, so I might still.My second tattoo was done by Jessi! I got a smaller piece about the size of a hand on my forearm. I had more reference photos for this tattoo than I did with my previous one, but she sketched something out just the same, and we ended up going with the original sketch for this tattoo, as well! It only took a couple hours, so we didn't take any breaks, and it also turned out great.I like traditional tattoos with a lot of color, and I get compliments on both pieces from random folks at least a couple times a day. I wouldn't be surprised if I went back in a couple of months to get either one of the tattoos extended.10/10, would go back again!

I made an appointment with Nic Eldridge while visiting friends in Portland. I sent Nic a picture of my arm with a Paypal deposit, and he sketched a traditional eagle and snake design for me in advance, which looked awesome. When I arrived, he expertly placed the stencil around my existing tattoos and got to work. It was a great experience. Nic and the other artists were friendly and fun to chat with throughout the process. He did a phenomenal job, and I couldn't be happier with how the piece turned out. It took a little longer than anticipated, but I didn't mind paying for the additional time. Nic does great work, and I hope I get to visit again sometime. Highly recommended.

When it comes to tattoo appointments I'm the queen psyching myself out (social anxiety squaddddd!!!). That being said, Jessi was so kind and professional that I ended up having an insanely good experience. I live two streets away from this shop, and since it was so close, I decided to stop in. Jessi Preston, immediately walked me, I gave her a few ideas of what I was looking for and she said she'd have everything ready to go the following day. When I came in, the drawing she came up with was stunning. She tattoos quickly, yet super solid. I was extremely impressed, and the her traditional work is exactly what I was looking for. This is my go-to place now. I have been a returning customer for just shy of a year. Not only did Jessi have such a great personality, she actually cares about people, listens and remembers what you guys talk about, like follows up with you about something you've shared with her months prior, which most people don't do. I always have a great time seeing her, super uplifting personality and a great artist. Nothing but friendly faces at this place, I recommend it a million times over.

However, they were full that day and recommend LST. They took me that day and I got a perfect piece by Seth. I went back the other day and got something else done by Olivia and she did an amazing job. She was the sweetest and so welcoming and friendly. I told him the colors I liked and he painted a beautiful personal icon on my arm, to remind me of how far I have come. The Lombard Street Parlour is worth a trip in itself, they have great decor and great antiques, a feast for the eyes. A beautiful, clean, professional environment. THANKS, ROLL! I can't say enough good things about this shop. I called in and spoke with Ellen about getting a traditional piece done with Seth. He put a lot of time into the drawing and ended up giving me an awesome tattoo. The shop itself was perfect, extremely clean and filled with great people, which is important when spending hours less than two feet from someones face. They're also extremely fair with pricing. I'll be back as soon as I can.

If visiting the city, make this place a destination because not only do they do great work, this shop has an incredible collection of art and hand painted signage that is worth the trip alone! The work I had done today was small, but means the world to me. Knuckles can be tricky to maneuver, but I'm quite pleased. Ellen was amazing from the get go. Tattoo studios are a dime a dozen in this town. I've had some work done and have shopped around. My typical experience has been somewhat negative. I haven't ever felt welcome, just mostly intimidated by the staff, almost as if I'm not hip enough to be there. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and encourage...d to ask any and all questions I had. Ellen did a wonderful job. The work is clean and crisp, especially given the surface area she had to work with. She's also incredibly interesting to talk to. I probably could have stayed another hour just to shoot the shit with her. I'm very happy and will definitely be back! Highly recommended and I'll certainly be sending referrals. Thanks LST. We're really happy you're in the neighborhood. See more

Brought in a design for feedback, suggestion and implementation. Nic was awesome! He's got a great eye for placement a very light touch, and great needleside manner. I've had many tattoos and this was one of the best experiences. From discussing the design, placement, adjustment of placement, to the tattoo itself. A very comfortable friendly experience. Plus the shop itself is way cool! Definitely recommend to any and all.
