My husband and I both went to Angel ink as part of their $40 tattoo event. We were both first timers, and our experience couldn't have been any better! Matt did both of ours - and he is truly fantastic! I came in wanting initials and came out with something way better. Everyone at the shop is super nice and so accommodating, even when they were swamped with people. They were able to fit my husband in without an appointment the following day with no issues. Great artist but the inside is a little sketchy. There are 8 bays and one bathroom. Kind of reminds me of a public restroom yellow on a bad plaster job with a teal trim, not to mention the butterflies and fairy stuff hanging from the ceiling. This has been a looooong time ago but the year of 2013  I got my eye brows  tattooed  on there by the owner and a flower tattoo with dragonflies on my left leg and they borh were  awesome .I can't remember the owner's name but she was really nice ! Awful experience. They had a promotion running that if you paid $100 or more they would match it in credit. so I gave my $100 and tried multiple attempts to schedule a session after canceling 3 or more times the tattoo artist, Thomas told me to "not freak out about it because it was only a $100". Violet at Angel Ink is the best.  I reviewed the other artists' work, and decided on Violet for her lovely line work.  I went in for my very first tattoo today, shortly after turning 60 (my birthday present to me!).  She was very gentle, explained the whole process to me and was very concerned for my comfort level.  She also made sure to tell me of the after care needs of my tatt, and told me she had a 90 day "fix-it" policy.  A really, really nice person, and if I ever get another tattoo, I'll be getting it from her.  I wish I could post a pic of my tattoo! Got a tattoo from them 5 years ago. It was lettering around my leg. Not only is it crooked as hell and bled through the layers of my skin and looks extremely inconsistent; but I called them back and left a voicemail less than 30 days after my tattoo and told them the letters were bold in some areas and thin in other spots and no one ever called me back. I am extremely ashamed to even have this tattoo on my body and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! Read Less

My girlfriend got a tattoo the required her to have no shirt on she was getting a back piece. I went to the ship with my girlfriend and the artist who was doing the tattoo kept flirting with my girlfriend right in front of me for 4 hours. Then after he adds us both in Facebook and continues to flirt with my girl over Facebook messenger talking about how he wouldn't mind seeing my girls boobs again. Definitely not gonna go back or recommend it. Worst part is the guy has a girlfriend and continuously talks with my girl. Shady man. Completely shady.Read Less

Went in to see if i could get a touch up on an old tat and was immediately told yes a touch up could be done and they didn't need the original picture to do it, the gal said that she would make it look good. After seeing the outline, i wanted to cry, it wasnt a touch up, but rather some cover up version of what the gal created herself. I let her know i wasn't happy and didn't like it. I called to talked to a guy the next day who said that i should call back and talk to the owner, that she would probably give the cover up job to him. After a week, it was agreed that he would do a cover up for me, on the house,and i approved the sketch he drew up. I made the appointment and when i got there, he wasn't working, apparently forgot i scheduled the cover up w/ him, so we rescheduled. He did the cover up and the tat looked great but needed some touch up after peeling, he did some touch up to it but wasn't very thorough about it and i could already see that he missed a lot and more touch up would need to be done. Another appointment was made, I arrived with a thank you note and a tip to thank him for the work he had done without the compensation only to find out that he wasn't working. I contacted him asking to reschedule only to be completely ignored. I never heard back from him and my cover up was never completed. I don't know if he graduated and that was why he was gone or if he just didn't feel like finishing his work or not? Maybe part of the schooling here should teach respect and etiquette, he was very disrespectful of my time and obviously very unprofessional, as did the first gal need to learn to better communicate. If you cant touch something up, say so, give the option to do a cover up instead and give the person the opportunity to choose their own picture don't make up some version of what you want.Read Less

I got 2 different tattoos from here awhile back, one from Bridget and one from Zach, I have absolutely no complaints. I completely recommend coming here and getting work done. I have been looking for the right place to have a tattoo reworked for over two years. I visited Angel Ink just to get a feel for the place and found it to be very clean and the owner very responsive to any questions I had about design and process. I went back today for the appointment and was blown out of the water by the artistry and professionalism I found in the shop. The tattoo had done a couple of years ago had been a disappointment and I couldn't quite put my finger on what needed to change. Shawna offered great suggestions, listened to my feedback and delivered artwork way beyond my expectations. I am so happy with the new look! I went in to get my first tattoo for my 18th birthday about a month ago, and was helped by Jason. He told me he would send me pictures of what he sketches up ahead of time so I could change anything I didn't like. I also had to put down a deposit at this time, which was birthday money from a few family members. I was so excited, but come the day of my appointment, I still hadn't heard from Jason even once! Turns out he had forgotten what I wanted and couldn't take the time to contact me about it, so I rescheduled for two days later in hopes I would hear from him this time. Nope. Nothing. I then made the wise decision to take my business elsewhere, which resulted with Jason hanging up on me and refusing to give me back my birthday money. After having several family friends who know the owner try to help me out - a month later - I get a sketch of my tattoo. The sketch just proved to me that taking my business elsewhere was the right thing to do, because it was basically the exact opposite of what I asked for. Hearing from friends that this shop was great, my daughter went in to get her first tattoo for her 18th birthday, using her own hard-earned funds. She was met by Jason in the store and wasn't really given any other options to use someone else. He sold himself well. She had to put down a deposit before he would draw up anything, of which he said he'd send over to her via text and if she didn't like it they could tweak it more. He couldn't produce a receipt when we asked for one and did not tell us at that time it was non-refundable. She was so excited, but come the day of her appointment, she still hadn't heard from Jason even once which started making her question his ability. Turns out he had forgotten what she wanted and couldn't take the time to contact her about it, so she rescheduled for two days later in hopes she'd hear from him this time. Nope. Nothing. She then made the wise decision to just wait (she had also come down with the flu). I phoned him to let him know she was going to hold off mostly because of his lack of customer service and providing the artwork, he made it sound like we canceled the original appointment for no reason and became very rude with me and hung up on me when I asked him for even a partial refund since at that time (about 3 hours prior to the appointment) that he still hadn't produced any artwork to her. I phoned the owner right away to let her know what type of person she has representing her business and other co-workers. Never once did she offer to refund (not even a partial refund) all she said was I'll personally do the tattoo myself, I'll draw the design personally myself...two weeks later it arrived on our door step - completely not even close to what my daughter had asked for. Thank goodness she opted to not use their services. Its unfortunate that they feel its right to keep the $50 deposit even when at the time of the appointment they hadn't produce to her any artwork. If you haven't checked out other shops, you should - do your research better than we did so you don't get screwed over by pathetic unprofessional and ethical people. BTW...just heard from a friend who knows the owner, they aren't telling people that Erin is no longer there - he is working on his own in Canby! He's above Hearts n' Hair - so if you want him, that's where you'll find him, don't get stuck with an unprofessional person at Angel Ink when you can have better, elsewhere. Read Less

I had a tattoo done at an unnamed place that turned out horrible. I had it done to honor my mother who had passed away and was so unhappy with the tatt that I never showed it to anyone. I talked with Erin at Angel Ink and he told me he could redo it and that I would be happy. That is an understatement, I am blown away. Erin created two beautiful lilies and free handed them on my shoulder. It is more than a tattoo, it is a piece of art that I will show off with pride. I had my eyeliner, eyebrows, and blush tattooed on and it looks just great! Shawna Holder, the owner, made me feel at ease in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. I was afraid it would be painful, but it wasn't. I was afraid my make-up would look fake, but it's so natural almost one one guesses it is tattooed on! It was such a wonderful overall experience, I went ahead with a regular tattoo on my ankle. I travel a lot and never know what kind of light will be available to put on make-up. Wow. Well I'm not a felon nor did I have my cellmate draw my tattoo.... YIKES! I got a great sleeve from Mr. Clean. I get people stopping me and asking who did the work. Its wack to have people stop and ask about MY tattoo. When I got the one sleeve done it looks a little out of balance with the other arm with nothing on it! I cant wait to go in for the other arm. I waited most of my adult life to finally be in a place financially to get sleaved out. I carried a peice of art work that my cell mate in the joint drew for me some 10 years ago the theme was wild life bears wolves etc. I then took it to angel ink cause i had heard that this shop was a solid place with good artist the owner.I let her begin the work, it turned out okay but looked nothing like my art work. I let her do another peice off a picture a cougar. She let her student do it and she took off leaving me alone with her. What a mistake the big cat looks like a red clay cougar that a child drew. Kinda like melted wax on my arm. After these peices where healing they let me to believe that the 2 peices could be touched up. So we went on to do a bear it was supposed to be about 5 inches tall, it ended up being 12 inches. And not only that the bear had 3 arms. This was a straight up disaster, I trusted these chicks, and my life long dream is now nothing but scars that never can be changed. Pussycats has been working long and hard to cover up the mess. Bottom line dont be tricked by a portfolio with there so called work. And check shop after shop and watch them work and see it for yourself, The staff at angel ink were my friends, they dont see my experience with them as bad work. Needless to say the Angel Ink chicks sell image not art work. If you dont believe me check it out for yourself, pussycats has a picture of the work they did. Sorry angel ink, but i didnt know what tattoo artist was till i met Gene at pussycats. Both artists were wonderful to talk to and there are alot of books to look through. Risa is very artistic and capable of drawing anything up you want. I got a custom tattoo from one of the artists here and I love it! I've been to lots of other shops and this one was totally different-- really bright and cheerful. There was lots of stuff to look at from the artists' stuff to all kinds of flash and art books. My artist actually drew for me and drew something up that was exactly what I wanted. When I came for my appointment everyone was really friendly and relaxed, and my artist was super patient even though I was having a hard time.
