I wish I could do negative reviews. The guy in the shop that met me was extremely rude...he had a swirly face tattoo, and I didn't get his name. I walked in to hand in my resume about 3 months ago, and he threw it on the ground behind him without even looking at it, and said I shouldn't be looking for jobs if I can't drive because it's unprofessional. I had my husband drive me because I was sick, and it was really rude of him. Never made eye contact with me either, just walked around and didn't acknowledge me besides throwing my resume. Extremely rude, and the place was very old and filthy. I would not recommend going to House of Tattoo, or handing in a resume.

The only reason I am writing this is because I would hate to see yet another person hoaxed into the position I have been in for the past 2 months, or to support a business that does this to people. They may give decent tattoos, though the shop is dirty and unsanitary, but if I would have known the way they scam, harass, and degrade innocent people, clients, and employees- I would have never gone near The House of Tattoo. Please consider this before going here.They started off by deceptively having me sign a contract, saying that I would volunteer my time (work for free) for a few training shifts, and then they'd make the decision on weather or not to hire me. They strung me along, making me think that the 'evaluation day' was right around the corner. I worked my tail off for them for about 2 months, never complaining or having a bad attitude, for I really wanted this job (it was right next to where I live, and who doesn't want to work at a tattoo shop?). Through the course of these months, I witnessed the way they act toward clients, endured sexual harassment from the owner, Ben, hostility/rudeness from the other receptionist girls and bitterness/indifference from the rest of the artists. The shop is unsanitary, (don't even get me started on how gross that place is) and they don't give you breaks, make you work hours later than scheduled/closing time, and make you feel incredibly inferior, commenting on your personality, clothes, etc- but Ben inveigled me to not ask questions and keep on working, although he knew exactly what he was doing. He even told me once that they have done this with a lot of people. Ben is unprofessional, rude, lies to your face, and gossips about clients and their work as soon as they leave. I have seen them do pieces for nice people and as soon as they leave, they make fun them and their tattoo.When I was just about to tell them I was through with it all, that I needed to get paid (I have bills like everyone else) and they fired me for no reason. Ben wouldn't even tell me in person- he had another receptionist call me to deliver the news. After putting so much hard work, hope, and faith into the job, I was utterly disappointed, but relieved that the abuse was finally over.They constantly repost the receptionist position, and I know that they do this to many people- lead them on, make them work for free for way longer than expected, and then dump them with low self esteem and no experience, references, or money in your pocket. This is NOT a job. This is a scam and a complete waste of time. The way they run things is completely unprofessional, and frankly disgusting. I have never given a review like this- I am a kind person- but I feel this strongly- To support a business that treats people, even their employees and clients, like objects, is a big mistake. 0 stars.

It's been years since I've gotten a tattoo, and I have to admit I did very little research on this place before coming (my tattoo was my sisters gift so she actually looked it up). I immediately got a good vibe when I went in for my consultation and when I met Carson. I put my deposit down and set my appointment. Today I got my gorgeous tattoo! Carson was fun, professional, polite. I immediately felt at ease like we were just friends hanging out. Before long, I had a piece of artwork on my arm! He has a light hand and is very fair in price. I highly recommend Carson.

I saw their pictures from the works they have done and great feedbacks on facebook, so I gave it a try and called them on Friday to see if I can walk in and give them my ideas of my tats. The receptionist was friendly and said to come in another time due to busy with other client, so they made an appointment for me for the next week at 8pm on Saturday. I waited a week after and it was nice that they called a few times during the week to remind me of the appointment. Then I got a call 1 an half hours prior to my appointment when I'm already in town and was ask if I can come in earlier than 8pm as possible because the guy Carson who was gonna be my consultant had to leave early (I have other things to do you know. I made time for the appointment, no matter what I'm gonna be there at 8pm, the house of tattoo should do the same. We are customers) I was like what the heck and felt like being rushed by them. An appointment is an appointment. I came all the way up from Salem to get a consultation and was looking forward to it. If they can't have time for a consultation and wanna rush that's a bad sign doing business. We need time for consultation and tattoo work. I DO NOT want any person to do tattoos on my body if they rush me. It is not a game, it is a permanent tattoos that will be forever on your skin!! They should always have time for the customers, except an Emergency and they need to say so if there is. So yes I cancelled the appointment and then they said you can come in at 8pm..Like seriously?? Playing around with customers who are serious about tattoos. I would not recommend this place and don't believe all the great feedbacks on Facebook. Yes I was hopeful with the house of tattoos even with the bad feedbacks on Yelp, but not anymore. Be serious, have time for customers, stay overtime if you need to, need to open earlier than 12 noon, be PROFESSIONAL and stick with what you say and do.

My Wife and I have been getting Tattooed by Ben and his Crew since 2007 ~ It has always been a great experience. Everyone their have always gone out of their way to make us feel like part of the Family. Ben does excellent work and runs a clean and well organized shop. I have always felt that his shop is as clean, if not cleaner than my Doctors exam room! and Ben gives more attention to after care than any Artist I have ever met. His work excellent ( I’ve gotten 5 good sized tattoo’s to date ) and his attention to detail, placement ( some stuff you really don’t think to much about ) is great. I love his work and am glad to call him my friend.

Very solid crew. Very talented artists. A friendly environment that is bright and makes you feel like they give a crap about you, cleanliness, and just what they do in general. I would recommend this place to anyone and will certainly be back. **Most recent tattoo was by Carson. Hell of a job bro**

Do not go here! I went in & was quoted $300. Which I thought was a bit high because my tattoo had no color and was going to be small. I also had a very similar one that had only cost $80. Anyways, I sat down & talked to the tattoo artist who was very unprofessional and basically told me the tattoo I wanted wasn't possible. He wanted to add a bunch of things to it and create motion. He wasn't listening to what I said I wanted. He also was eating Cheetos & licking his fingers while touching instruments. My consultation appt. was also 2 hours behind schedule. They have no concept of time management. I went elsewhere & had the tattoo done for $80. In a much cleaner, professional environment. I would NEVER get a tattoo at House of Tattoo.

I visited House of Tattoo for the first time today and was a bit caught off guard with my experience. I have seen a LOT of great work come out of this shop and was excited to inquire about my first tattoo. While standing in the lobby area I hear the guy (I later learn that this is Ben) talking to a young lady and calling her out in front of other clients about a review she left on this site. He was telling her that her review was unprofessional...I found his conversation to be EXTREMELY unprofessional and very off-putting. Their lobby is fairly small and there were 4 or 5 us in there waiting so we all could hear the conversation and it made for a very uncomfortable environment, in my opinion. She said that she liked his work but twice she has had issues with their scheduling and them having to re-schedule. Her only complaint was their "time management" and that she had never complained about his work. Yelp is a site for reviewing your experience, correct? I found her review and I didn't think it was that bad, she stated what she experienced...so for that reason, I think he was in the wrong for making a scene about it. I'll find another place to take my virgin skin, this wasn't the environment I was looking for. I gave him two stars because the work he has done is definitely some of the best I have seen but he shouldn't treat people like that for being honest. He should have done what he could do to make a customer happy and maybe talk to her about revising her review if he was unhappy about it.

Cannot thank this shop enough for their kindness and gentility for a very difficult time in my life. I had gone to one other shop in Gresham at a time of grieving and loss looking for a memorial piece, and they did not give me anywhere near the welcoming atmosphere that The House of Tattoo offers. The woman that did my artwork was so kind, and expressed her deepest genuine connection to my loss. She made sure to give me exactly what I wanted, and executed it with great skill. I would just like to say thank you everyone at this shop for upholding such amazing standards, and having honest and sympathetic hearts. My little leaf is by far my favorite tattoo now. :)

Doesn't get much better than this. Class act all the way. I visited a few places and The House of Tattoos, by far, gave me the best first impression.Professional, super friendly, awesome people. The studio is immaculate. My tattoo artist is Ben, and I have to say he rocked my tattoo. I had a concept and a picture, he expounded on it magnanimously. His creativity, detail, technique, knowledge and overall artistry is just straight up amazing. He care's about his work, and his clients. I had no idea of how awesome and detailed my tattoo would be. Ben's not done with it yet but I dig it already, and can't wait for the finished piece so I can move on to the next... I'm picky, detailed oriented, and particular when it comes to getting what I want...I got way more than what I expected. No need for you to go to any other studio, the jaunt is worth it. They've been in business for a long time and their work justifies why.Thanks Ben and all,Angry Buddha (Dennis)

It's been years since I've gotten a tattoo, and I have to admit I did very little research on this place before coming (my tattoo was my sisters gift so she actually looked it up). I immediately got a good vibe when I went in for my consultation and when I met Carson. I put my deposit down and set my appointment. Today I got my gorgeous tattoo! Carson was fun, professional, polite. I immediately felt at ease like we were just friends hanging out. Before long, I had a piece of artwork on my arm! He has a light hand and is very fair in price. I highly recommend Carson.

I saw their pictures from the works they have done and great feedbacks on facebook, so I gave it a try and called them on Friday to see if I can walk in and give them my ideas of my tats. The receptionist was friendly and said to come in another time due to busy with other client, so they made an appointment for me for the next week at 8pm on Saturday. I waited a week after and it was nice that they called a few times during the week to remind me of the appointment. Then I got a call 1 an half hours prior to my appointment when I'm already in town and was ask if I can come in earlier than 8pm as possible because the guy Carson who was gonna be my consultant had to leave early (I have other things to do you know. I made time for the appointment, no matter what I'm gonna be there at 8pm, the house of tattoo should do the same. We are customers) I was like what the heck and felt like being rushed by them. An appointment is an appointment. I came all the way up from Salem to get a consultation and was looking forward to it. If they can't have time for a consultation and wanna rush that's a bad sign doing business. We need time for consultation and tattoo work. I DO NOT want any person to do tattoos on my body if they rush me. It is not a game, it is a permanent tattoos that will be forever on your skin!! They should always have time for the customers, except an Emergency and they need to say so if there is. So yes I cancelled the appointment and then they said you can come in at 8pm..Like seriously?? Playing around with customers who are serious about tattoos. I would not recommend this place and don't believe all the great feedbacks on Facebook. Yes I was hopeful with the house of tattoos even with the bad feedbacks on Yelp, but not anymore. Be serious, have time for customers, stay overtime if you need to, need to open earlier than 12 noon, be PROFESSIONAL and stick with what you say and do.

My Wife and I have been getting Tattooed by Ben and his Crew since 2007 ~ It has always been a great experience. Everyone their have always gone out of their way to make us feel like part of the Family. Ben does excellent work and runs a clean and well organized shop. I have always felt that his shop is as clean, if not cleaner than my Doctors exam room! and Ben gives more attention to after care than any Artist I have ever met. His work excellent ( I’ve gotten 5 good sized tattoo’s to date ) and his attention to detail, placement ( some stuff you really don’t think to much about ) is great. I love his work and am glad to call him my friend.

Very solid crew. Very talented artists. A friendly environment that is bright and makes you feel like they give a crap about you, cleanliness, and just what they do in general. I would recommend this place to anyone and will certainly be back. **Most recent tattoo was by Carson. Hell of a job bro**

Do not go here! I went in & was quoted $300. Which I thought was a bit high because my tattoo had no color and was going to be small. I also had a very similar one that had only cost $80. Anyways, I sat down & talked to the tattoo artist who was very unprofessional and basically told me the tattoo I wanted wasn't possible. He wanted to add a bunch of things to it and create motion. He wasn't listening to what I said I wanted. He also was eating Cheetos & licking his fingers while touching instruments. My consultation appt. was also 2 hours behind schedule. They have no concept of time management. I went elsewhere & had the tattoo done for $80. In a much cleaner, professional environment. I would NEVER get a tattoo at House of Tattoo.

I visited House of Tattoo for the first time today and was a bit caught off guard with my experience. I have seen a LOT of great work come out of this shop and was excited to inquire about my first tattoo. While standing in the lobby area I hear the guy (I later learn that this is Ben) talking to a young lady and calling her out in front of other clients about a review she left on this site. He was telling her that her review was unprofessional...I found his conversation to be EXTREMELY unprofessional and very off-putting. Their lobby is fairly small and there were 4 or 5 us in there waiting so we all could hear the conversation and it made for a very uncomfortable environment, in my opinion. She said that she liked his work but twice she has had issues with their scheduling and them having to re-schedule. Her only complaint was their "time management" and that she had never complained about his work. Yelp is a site for reviewing your experience, correct? I found her review and I didn't think it was that bad, she stated what she experienced...so for that reason, I think he was in the wrong for making a scene about it. I'll find another place to take my virgin skin, this wasn't the environment I was looking for. I gave him two stars because the work he has done is definitely some of the best I have seen but he shouldn't treat people like that for being honest. He should have done what he could do to make a customer happy and maybe talk to her about revising her review if he was unhappy about it.

Cannot thank this shop enough for their kindness and gentility for a very difficult time in my life. I had gone to one other shop in Gresham at a time of grieving and loss looking for a memorial piece, and they did not give me anywhere near the welcoming atmosphere that The House of Tattoo offers. The woman that did my artwork was so kind, and expressed her deepest genuine connection to my loss. She made sure to give me exactly what I wanted, and executed it with great skill. I would just like to say thank you everyone at this shop for upholding such amazing standards, and having honest and sympathetic hearts. My little leaf is by far my favorite tattoo now. :)

The studio is immaculate. My tattoo artist is Ben, and I have to say he rocked my tattoo. I had a concept and a picture, he expounded on it magnanimously. His creativity, detail, technique, knowledge and overall artistry is just straight up amazing. He care's about his work, and his clients. I had no idea of how awesome and detailed my tattoo would be. Ben's not done with it yet but I dig it already, and can't wait for the finished piece so I can move on to the next... I'm picky, detailed oriented, and particular when it comes to getting what I want...I got way more than what I expected. No need for you to go to any other studio, the jaunt is worth it.
