I have had only positive experiences coming to this studio. Shelly and Gil are excellent teachers. They provide all their students with up to date techniques and knowledge. I've personally witnessed students improve in a short period of time and am impressed with the outcome. I have received every single piece of art on my body from the talented Miss Shelly and I love every one. This is a pathetic attempt to cash in on tattooing soon recent popularity...Be aware! No reputable shop would ever consider hiring a "tattoo school graduate" It's required in Oregon as a formality. You CAN NOT properly learn the craft of modern tattooing in a "school"! What a disgrace. Read Less

I've been going to Shelly now for about a year working on a back piece she designed herself. She has made the experience more than welcoming and comfortable. When you enter her shop it isn't intimidating like a lot of shops normally are. It's quiet, clean, friendly and everyone is happy to see you. I've been more than pleased with my back piece. Recently I found out I was pregnant and Shelly had no problem taking a break until I have my sons to continue work. She is always accommodating and an amazing artist. If it was within my budget I would attend the school myself too, it looks like so much fun and the students learn so much. I've met several students who have graduated and gotten jobs, their work is astounding and I've even had one tattoo me. I would recommend Garden of Ink to anyone!Read Less

I treasure each and every tattoo Shelly has given me. Each of my tattoos are works of art that were very well thought out and executed. The attention to detail is fantastic. I have recommend several people to come to see Shelly. I am always stopped and asked where I got my work done. I would never hire someone trained in a "tattoo school". Part of a legitimate apprenticeship is the gift of the pedigree of the teacher. I am certain Shelly and Gill mean well. Free market is one of the cornerstones of this great nation. That being said "tattoo  school" is not a substitute for an apprenticeship.
