Love this place. It's a very clean and friendly environment. I got my lip pierced for the first time and it didn't really hurt as bad as I thought it did. I got my nose pierced here. A fairly straightforward and simple thing. However, this was the third time I was doing it. The two previous piercings (at different shops) were taken out and allowed to close for a variety of reasons. When I walked in, it looked very clean, staff were friendly and I was immediately helped. All piercing tools had clearly been autoclaved. I was offered the option to buy a cleaning gentle soap for my piercing--not a hard sell at all but it is what they use in the store and that was enough for me to buy it. Chris was my piercer and he was professional and took care to listen to my tale of nose piercing woe. He had several ideas about what to do and offered to adjust the stud if necessary free of charge. He indicated when he would be around in case I needed it. I did require an adjustment and he took care of it for no charge and offered further help in the future if necessary. Thank you Chris. So today my cousin wanted to get her tongue piercing, she's had one previously but had to take out the ring to be hired for a job. When Caleb looked at her tongue he noticed where she previously had a tongue ring but also noticed that she previously must've had a lisp without her even telling him. He was very thorough on the instructions on how to take care of the tongue ring he even provided her paper instructions to take home. He also made sure she understood if she had any questions about anything concerning this tongue ring to call him back personally at the shop. I don't know if this is normative behavior concerning tattoo and piercing shops but this was amazing and I appreciate all that Caleb and his staff did in making sure that my cousin understood what she was getting into and how to take care of it. When I got my snake bites done the guy told me I turned so white if I hadn't had someone with me he wasn't going to allow me to drive home until he felt safe for me to because he didn't want me fainting behind the wheel. Really clean place, all professional and knowledgeable people working there. As I got my tattoo done I overheard different people getting their tattoos and piercings done, and each person left with all the information on cleaning and aftercare. These guys really knew what they were talking about and they're trustworthy. I got my half sleeve done by Tony. When I got there he had everything drawn out for me and ready, he is really good at placement of tattoos and has a knack for traditional style work. His shading job is amazing, I'm beyond impressed. I drove an hour and a half to get to Black and Gold because I knew I would get the best work done. I don't regret it because this shop has top notch artists. Went today and got my tragus done (3rd time) this time didnt hurt like the other times. Yay...the guy was super easy going and very laid back and nice...made me feel at ease will b going back in the future Im sure, the parking lot SUCKS tho...if you can even call it a parking lot.....pretty tiny March 29 2017 I went back and got my Daith done on my left ear. Again it was a very laid back atmosphere, prices are great and the crew well u couldnt ask for a better more profession...al bunch of people. :) The daith didnt hurt per say but I was caught off guard so to speak and it made me jump but the pain is almost none at all. It is healing quit well still sore (i sleep on my left side) its a tad red nothing major never did swell or drain anything, a few crusties here and there everyone likes it and I did get very bad migraines when storms were in the area knock on wood I havent had but one mild headache since getting it done and I also suffer from severe anxiety even with meds but that has also decreased a lot since getting it done. I have been loyal to the artists from Black Gold since I received my first tattoo from Squiggy 4 years ago. I have my entire right arm sleeved in a collaboration by Kris, Myk and Robbie and it is a work of art. I don't have the words to describe how happy I am with the quality of service and work that I recieved. The work is so good that sometimes I wear long sleeves just to avoid people asking me about my ink lol. Their line work is some of the cleanest i have ever seen, the things these guys can do with color, shading and portraits are amazing.
