Matt does some of the best line work you'll ever see. Very professional and respectful. I know little about tattoos and he was extremely patient and accommodating with the requests or questions I had regarding my tattoo. I have Filipino/Hawaiian/Polynesian blood and wanted a Polynesian piece and he brought it to life better than I could have imagined. The first one (outer arm) I basically designed and he put it on my body perfectly. The second (inner arm) we talked through a little more and he went ahead and took the design lead on it. I love my first tattoo but part of me wishes I'd let him design the first more. That's how well the second turned out. He's an excellent artist with a very light hand. I have no plans to get any more tattoos but if I do he's the first person I'll contact.

As a staff member of one of OKC's most established arts organizations, I had really high expectations for the shop and artist/s I was going to work with as I moved into getting some larger artwork done. I had my first visit today and it was everything I was looking for and more. Initially I was just hoping to start a relationship based of mutual respect as artists, but this place is a pristine and organized local creative business that expressed a level of care and service that I didn't get visiting other shops, all from the moment I walked-in to when I left (I got lucky, Shmitty was available when I walked-in, booking appointments is definitely the better, more appropriate way to go). Friendly staff, the owner took the time to introduce himself, great sense of respect and teamwork around the shop, super clean, lots of different styles/specialties, sharp & vibrant artwork (both on the walls and the bodies), I really enjoyed my first experience with them and can't wait to work with Shmitty moving forward. I really lucked out because he's done some beautiful work with the areas/subjects I'm interested for my own designs. Couldn't be happier with my art and experience and my wife will sleep easier knowing I'm putting my skin under the guns of some true professionals.

This is a new shop for my regular artist. Shmitty Dequiase, has been doing my work since 2012. I have followed him as he moves up and this shop fits him perfectly. Located right on the corner of NE 9th street downtown, the shop is clean and very open. Each artist has their own area and each area is unique to the artist. This shop is also home to Frank Ready III, currently being featured on Paramount Network's Ink Master. I will be going here as long as Shmitty calls it home. Black Magic is surprisingly warm and friendly. combined I think we have about 40 years of experience and everyone is a big nerd that loves what they do and it has been the best environment I have worked in over a decade. I am so lucky to be able to preform my craft around such interesting people that are now my family. And yes I’m writing a review about my own, but it really is that incredible. Matt is now my boyfriend's artist too, after coming with me to my color session. He's extremely happy with his as well.

Adam and Renee are both working on separate limbs of mine, and their work is amazing! Both are incredible at taking a general idea and bringing it to life in ways I couldn't have imagined. Adam is working on an H.R. Giger leg sleeve and has nerded out on it so hard that it looks as if Giger tattooed it himself. Renee is working on a Major Arcana tarot card sleeve with exquisite fine detailing, the cleanest, skinniest lines, and precision dot work. I highly recommend both of these cool cats!

I was introduced to Frank last year. He is a phenomenal artist with the greatest eye. I come to him with just a concept and he somehow pulls it out of my head. I've had 3 pieces done by him so far and I'm in love with them. I'm going back for 2 more later this year. I couldn't imagine going to anyone else. He is professional and kind and he has a quick hand and does the most beautiful tattoos and drawings. He is a very gifted person and it's a pleasure to know him.

The undisupted king of traditional and that's why I've used him exclusively for my nautical sleeve. Will always continue to use Matt and Black Magic.

I came to Frank with a vision and a piece of paper and he brought it to life. It was better than I could have imagined! The shop is lovely. Matt does some of the best line work you'll ever see. Very professional and respectful. I know little about tattoos and he was extremely patient and accommodating with the requests or questions I had regarding my tattoo. I have Filipino/Hawaiian/Polynesian blood and wanted a Polynesian piece and he brought it to life better than I could have imagined. As a staff member of one of OKC's most established arts organizations, I had really high expectations for the shop and artist/s I was going to work with as I moved into getting some larger artwork done. I've had 3 pieces done by him so far and I'm in love with them. I'm going back for 2 more later this year. I couldn't imagine going to anyone else. I booked with Frank after many people recommend him. I had an idea of what I wanted my tatoo to look like, and after discussing, he came up with an incredible, detailed, and descriptive illustration. Absolutely stunning. The shop is relaxing and you feel at home. Movies, music, and good conversation.

I came to Frank with a vision and a piece of paper and he brought it to life. It was better than I could have imagined! The shop is lovely. It's quaint, there are TV's in each room, great music over head, amazing art work and decor. I will definitely be back to the shop and to Frank! His work is phenomenal and he's a great person.
