Naomi did my tattoo while Matt did my husband's. Both came out spectacular. Being my first tattoo in a real shop, and my husband's first tattoo ever, they took great care of us! Very informative the entire time, and we had great conversations as well. We were a walk in appointment on a whim and they got us in and out with custom work in what felt like no time. Thrill Vulture is awesome! I've gotten two tattoos there, both of them by Matt Brown: Bag End in March 2016, and the Tree of Gondor in February 2018. Matt was really accommodating and listened to everything that I wanted. He's also a super nerd, which is awesome because he knew exactly what I was talking about and had a real appreciation for it. I shopped around at a few other places, and while they seemed nice, they didn't have an appreciation for Tolkien like me, so I didn't necessarily trust them to design a tattoo that I knew I was going to love and want on my body forever. I'm writing this in March 2018, and my Bag End tattoo is holding up really well. I still love it and get a ton of compliments on it. My tree healed really well and looks great. If I ever get another tattoo, you bet I'll be coming back here. I haven't had any work done by Naomi, but she did the scheduling for me and was wonderful to chat with. The artist was nice, but overworked my skin and I was left with a keloid throughout the design. Now, I'm a little upset that I paid upwards of $300 plus for a scar where a beautiful tattoo was supposed to be. Read Less

Just got another piece done by Naomi at Thrill Vulture Tattoo. It is a family owned and run shop in Westerville that's been operating for 23 years or so. I usually bring in a design and let them work with it to make the transfer and go back a week or so later but there are plenty of flash designs to choose from as well. Naomi and Matt are versatile artists and can do multiple styles. The shop is clean, the atmosphere relaxed, and the prices are very reasonable. They take walk-ins and appointments. They also host a flea every couple of months with lots of cool stuff. If you are going to get a tattoo I strongly recommend them. Read Less

I got my first tattoo here on recommendation and as a gift from a friend. The design was to be one of my own...simple 2 dates and a name in a specific font. Overall I will say I'm satisfied with the work as it holds special meaning, but it has not set well with me that my design was pushed aside and the "artitst" took it upon themselves to change it and put their touch to it....and to be picky, the placement is slightly off from where I wanted it and 2 of the numbers on the dates looked smudged, very overpriced for the quality and to be honest when viewing other of their examples of work around the office the stuff looks cartoonish and very amateur and the shop itself feels dirty. I am not a fan of pain. I need to be drugged to rip off a band aid. So it may seem odd that I decided to get a tattoo, which equals many continuous moments of pain, needles, and blood. I was able to rationalize the decision by explaining to myself it was for art. I mean Van Gough lost and ear, I could certainly stand to loose some pigment.Thrill Vulture is not a place to cater to my fears. The artists are tough  and somehow gave me the strength to not cry...too much. That and the fear I would be laughed at by my friends got me a sweet little tattoo the size of a quarter on my back. It feels big to me.Regardless of my personal issues, this is a great place to get a tattoo. Miles away from the trendy studios downtown Thrill Vulture produces great tattoo's. My tattoo was a collaboration of an idea in my mind brought to life by Naomi. My friend got a tattoo that looks like it was stamped from the page of the book she found it in on to her skin. Both look great and are vivid with colors. I like how the artists will work with you to find just the right design.The studio is fun and makes you feel like you are rebelling from your parents in its suburban location. The best part is walking distance from Graters so you can soothe your pain with an ice cream post-tat.
