I have been to Needle Masters for two different occasions. I’ve gotten 3 piercings from Whitey and he’s awesome! He makes you feel comfortable and tries his best to make you feel distracted or little to no pain from the piercing. His prices are reasonable as well, I went with a friend both times and got a deal of buying two piercings and getting one free. I would recommend to anyone to see Whitey for piercings. Read Less

Got a tattoo from Michael Ellis here and he was awesome! A little backstory: At 18, I got my first tattoo (not at Needle Masters or by Michael). It was a dumb tattoo in a dumb place, but at the time I thought it was cool. Nothing incredibly stupid or anything, just what was trendy at the time. I learned a few very important things from this tattoo: 1) Do your research! I can't stress this enough!!! Make sure you know who is going to be stabbing I went to for I researched artists in 3 states looking for the best artist I could find, and Michael was definitely the right choice! Michael worked with me to go over what I wanted - I gave him a lot of artistic freedom with it because I saw his portfolio and work online and trusted him with a needle repeatedly for potentially hours on end. I knew the shop I chose to go to back then had been around for a while, but knew virtually nothing about it or the people that worked there. And I didn't do any prior research. Major mistake. I got a guy who went too deep with the needle (either he was new or just bad at his job) and ended up with the skin where my tattoo was being permanently raised (it feels like Braille when you run your hands over it). I cared for it exactly as the instructions stated, before you go blaming me for after-care. My blame lies in not researching the guy or the place prior to walking in. I was young and stupid and just assumed all tattoo parlors were the same. Fast forward to now and I took my time and researched artists in 3 states looking for the best artist I could find, and Michael was definitely the right choice! Michael worked with me to go over what I wanted - and I gave him a lot of artistic freedom with it because I saw his portfolio and work online and met with him prior to getting it done and I trusted him. And he did a fantastic job! He covered up the old tattoo completely and the new artwork is beautiful. And he knows his stuff - really, really well. So of course this healed properly, no raised skin on the new tattoo! 2) You'll see it said time and time again - "a cheap tattoo ain't good and a good tattoo ain't cheap." This is true - see my point above. This is going to be on your body permanently- do you really want some discount, bargain-bin, basement sale quality tattoo that you have to look at for the rest of your life? This is your body, don't cut corners. I got a "deal" on my first tattoo, and I can tell you in the long run, it was no deal. I don't make a ton of money, and my cover-up by Michael wasn't cheap (but was WELL within reason for what I was asking for). And it was well worth it to pay for his time and talent! I was able to just set aside a couple bucks every paycheck and schedule an appointment every time I had enough money for another session. Michael was always easy to get ahold of, quick to respond, and quick to get me in. Again, the prices weren't exorbitant, they were very reasonable. It took 3, 3 hour sessions over the course of a year, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Michael was very patient with me, worked me into his always crazy busy schedule whenever I was ready for the next session, and his rates were great! Had an original appointment scheduled for 2 people for April 9th at 11am and by 1pm mario still hadn't shown up an when he finally got there he only ended up doing 1 of the tattoos told us to come back tomorrow for the other. We went back the next day only for him to be 3+ hours late again and he only did half the tattoo. We scheduled an appointment for May 1st at 11am to get the tattoo finished and it's now 1pm and he still has yet to show. With multiple calls and texts from not only the client but other staff as well and this is the 3rd time he's bailed. Will never be coming back here again. Mario did a tattoo on my wrist. It was suppose to be my daughters name. Brooklyn. He had the stencil correct then decided to free hand which I questioned but he guaranteed he could do words better free hand well when he was done I looked down and started crying he spelled it wrong. He smelled like he had just smoked a bowl then put a pound of cologne on to try to cover it up. He went over it and corrected it the best he could. I was so upset. He then argued with me that you spelled brooklyn brookyln (which is how he spelled it) then he continued to charge me $95 for the fucked up tattoo and gave an attitude when I didn't leave a tip.He also screwed up my friends side piece the same day. She had gotten 10 tattoos there and 4 piercings before then. She's never went back. I would be mad no matter what tattoo he messed up but this one is my daughters name. That's a big deal to me. And then to continue to charge full price which every other studio and artist I've talked to have all said something that small and simple would be closer to $60-$65 not $95 Read Less

I was scared. Let that be on the record. I wanted a tattoo and for all the wrong reasons. Mainly because it was cool. I consulted friends and drove everyone crazy with questions ranging from where to get it from to how much it would hurt.So one late night during work, I decided that it was time. I looked at all of the tat places around Toledo and decided that Needle Masters was going to be the place. The thing that sold me was that they guaranteed the work and they even won awards for being THE cleanest tat parlor in Lucas county. They even bragged that the health inspectors got tats from NeedleMasters.But as they say, seeing is believing. Ads can lie, testimonials can be hyped and some people don't always tell the honest truth about things. I went in and was greeted by my tattooist, Jose. I told him what I wanted and what I wanted to spend. He took the design I had and made it a lot better than I had drawn it, and being that it was within my price range, I went with it. Now came the hard part. The execution. He had me wait for about 20 minutes while he prepped his work area. They he called me back. It was set up professionally, and he was wearing gloves and a mask. He had me sit down where he could do his work. I asked if it would hurt. He was honest, and I like that, saying it would a little, but I would get used to it. No painkillers.It took a little more than an hour and when it was done it was fantastic. The only regret I have is that it is on my lower back where few people can actually see it. I hurt, but only on a scale of about 5 out of 10. Not too bad, and you know, I would do it again.He gave me an aftercare pamphlet and told me to return if I had any concerns. It healed according to schedule, and today sits on my back as a testament to his skills as an artist. Would I go back? You betcha. I'm planning to add to my artwork on my back, and hopefully Jose can finish what he began. I will always use NeedleMasters and if you go there, you will too. As they say, a good tattoo isnt cheap, and a cheap tattoo isn't good.Truer words were never spoken. Read Less
