I love this place! I had my first tattoo done here when I was 16. He walked me through it, explained how things work, how to take care of it, and informed me on so many things with tattoos! And the skin etc. the healing was great. I came in today hoping for a tattoo, but had to make an appointment for the next day. That's ok. No worries. Rules is rules, anyway. I did, however, have my nose pierced, something I'd been vacillating about for a long time. Leanna did the piercing. The whole "ordeal" took about 5 minutes. Great place! I came here from PA, and though I would get my tounge pierced. Best experience! It was quick and not painful. I was out of there within 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend this! Got my first tattoo over the weekend here, and it was a great experience. Leanna was awesome. First, she was super conversational. We chatted like old friends about everything from cats to college to pastors getting tattoos. Secondly, she was really sensitive to the fact that I'm a giant wuss. Even though I'm fully aware of the fact that I am getting repeatedly stabbed with a tiny needle, she kept asking if I was okay. Thirdly, she gave detailed instructions on caring for the tattoo after I left, which was extremely helpful. And, finally, the tattoo is spot on. I was worried about the font coming out the way I wanted--with all its little jagged do-dads and what not, but it's perfect. I could not be happier. Highly recommend! Read Less

Leana just pierced one of my back dermals, (after the one had rejected a few years after a horrible experience done at a previous shop), and she literally made it one of the more pleasant piercing experience's I have ever had! Our Dad passed unexpectedly. I was deeply saddened. Came up with idea to add my Dad's name to an existing ankle heart tattoo. They were very patient with me. Came up with size and style ideas, ended up copying my Dad's handwriting, and stenciling it onto my ankle. It was perfect, exactly what I wanted and more. I've been to zebra a few times now. I started with a tragus piercing and then had five piercings on my left ear. Today I went in to have a tattoo redone. Leana did such an amazing job! Zebra Tattooz was an awesome parlor that provided a warm experience for me. Shout out to Leana for her mad skills as an artist and for being such a cool person overall!All needles are single use. Hardware is sterilized in an autoclave machine. I'd highly recommend this place for safe, professional, and really cool place to get a tattoo!I got a caduceus. I've been fortunate to get piercings and tattoos here. I've gotten work done in 5 other shops in the state, and Zebra is by far the best. The ladies at the desk are friendly and helpful, and the artists are amazing. They take great care to make sure you are getting exactly what you want and are very personable. The piercings I got (nose and eyebrow) were done well and healed relatively well and when I needed to change my eyebrow bar out (long story there) they were more than happy to take me back and change it really quickly, since it was still a little to new for me to do myself. The tattoo I got came out beautifully and healed incredibly well. They were very through in making a point to show me the needles and explain how the barrels were cleaned and how they knew it was sterile and pointing out expiration dates. While in every shop I've been to I saw them open the needle package, this was the first time I've ever gotten such a through explanation -- definitely helpful if you are a first timer and anxious. Even having a few more tattoos under my belt, it was a great incentive they have and definitely appreciated. The tattooer was friendly and a had a wealth of information and great stories to tell. If you are someone who just wants to come and play your headphones the whole time, you might not have as nice an experience; they really want to connect with you here and they have a remarkable talent for making even someone like me (social anxiety to the max) feel welcome and comfortable. The ambiance of the place is great, their work is good, and the staff is friendly and 100% knowledgeable. The tattoo I got is part of a half sleeve I've been working on, and I can honestly say I plan on getting the rest of the sleeve and all future tattoos here. I got my tragus pierced here last night, and I couldn't be happier! Kelsey was kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. I'm so glad I went here because her aftercare instructions were extremely helpful and she answered all my questions.  If I could have gotten my lobes done here as well, I would have! ( They only use hoops to start for lobes and I couldn't have that for work.) My friend so got her double forward helix done and Kelsey was very thorough in explaining why the placement was important and how to keep the skin as clean as possible. Not many places educate you on the process, zebra does. Before them i didn't know that some other tattoo places were purposely deceiveing me. At zebra they show me the needles coming out of the package, show me how they take clean guns out of the autoclave and give you a fairly long discussion on aftercare. I've never paid for a touch up. They are beyond professional and cordial. I stopped going to other shops. I never have to worry about them digging into my skin deep or having a heal time thats too long. They don't screw people over on pricing, they have very good rates. The staff is like family and ive been going there repeatedly for around 8years and have reccomended it to many others. I want to start off with the fact that I do not have any tattoos.  I want one to cover a scar I have from a procedure done awhile back and needed advice on how to proceed.The staff here is more than WONDERFUL!  Having never been in a tattoo parlor before, I had no idea what to expect.  I was greet with smiles and "Welcome" and felt right at home.  Due to issues with my scar, I couldn't get a tattoo on it, but instead of just dismissing me, they really helped come up with ideas on how to incorporate a tattoo around my scar and they gave me ideas on how to help my scar heal better so that in the future I can revisit getting a tattoo on it.This place came as a recommendation from my doctor and I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place to anyone interested! I have three tattooz, two of which were done at Zebra Tattooz. They have two tattoo artists: Cliff and Leana. Cliff did my first tattoo and I've gotten many compliments on it. It's just black ink of Calvin and Hobbes and it's beautiful - I got it in April of 2002. My friend went with me and got Chief Wahoo tattooed on him as well, it looks great. My tattoo had a couple spots that faded a little bit and I got them touched up by Leana, free of charge. My friend's tattoo had some spots that faded a bit, but he hasn't had it touched up. For the record, I'm pretty good about taking care of my tattoos when I get them. But after the touch up, it healed great and looks amazing. I got my most recent tattoo there as well, and that was yesterday (Jan 2013). Leana did my tattoo this time. The tattoo is a solid black symbol and everything is healing well and looks fantastic.PRICEFor tattoos, you get what you pay for. Or sometimes you pay a lot and get junk anyway. I'm not putting a rating here. My two tattoos from Zebra have been great and decently priced. No complaints here.ARTWORKAdmittedly, both of the tattoos I got at Zebra are pretty simple. Both are all black ink and are not terribly complicated from a design standpoint. With that being said, the colors are even and thick, the line work is great. Granted, my more recent one may need to be touched up a little bit once it's healed so it's *perfect*, but maybe not. Even if so, that's not uncommon and that's been the case for me for all of my tattoos.ARTISTSCliff and Leandra are both great. Both of them are very nice and are very personable. When Cliff gave me my tattoo, he talked with my friend and I the whole time. Each of the times I was with Leana, she talked with me and my girlfriend the whole time. Having a conversation, I learned, is a nice way to take your mind off getting stabbed in the arm a bunch (if you're like me and think getting a tattoo is painful). Also, both artists carefully explained all the details of what they do to ensure everything is clean, sterile, and hygienic.Also, both artists have very good hands in regard to depth of puncture. My first tattoo (that I got elsewhere) was incredibly painful, ink leaked out a lot afterward, and I bled a good amount, and had some scabbing. Aftercare with my Zebra tattoos has been great.   I have had very, very little ink come out afterward (judged by when I pat the tattoo dry after washing it). I have never noticed any blood whatsoever either (which I have no idea how that happens, considering I was just stabbed a bunch). Since there is no bleeding, there's no scabbing. And post tattoo pain is incredibly minimal.STORE AND STAFFThe store is very clean and spacious. They've got music playing all the time, which is a good volume (ie not too loud). Black light and fish tanks really stand out. Their sample tattoos do not at all appeal to me, but I have never seen any sample tattoo at any parlor that does. They all just look silly to me. Anyway, there have been two different ladies working the counter when I've been there. I do not know their names, but they've very sweet and helpful.OVERALLI have had tattoos done at two different places, and those places are worlds apart. Zebra is very clean, very professional, uses high quality ink, great artwork, and the staff and artists are so wonderful and friendly. Leana even remembered me from my touch up I had done 6 months ago, which I thought was really cool. I can't speak for the piercing services there, but I have been more than happy with my tattoos. When I get my next tattoo, I'll be going back to Zebra Tattooz (unless I have moved out of the area by then). Read Less
