This tattoo place is an AAA #1 tattoo place to receive a tattoo. All artists are very talented and conscientious when it comes to giving you the best design and tattoo possible. Especially Ron the owner, Brian and Princess ( my personal favorite). Each have their own way of artistry, which is spectacular no matter what you decide. I made an appointment for a tattoo with princess in feb of 2014, during my session everything was clean, comfortable, going great with minimal pain, badass artwork, friendly conversation, then... boom. Power goes out. No fault of the shop I will add. My issue is, I have called and called and called, left message after message to get an appointment to get this tattoo finished with no prevail over the course of 3 years. I live over an hour away and cannot afford to drive up to ...your shop to maybe catch her there. I dont understand why I cant get a call or facebook message back over this situation. I understand tattoo artists are very busy. I get that, but 3 years with no contact back to a would have been loyal customer is inexcusable. Im disappointed with how this has been handled. Great place to get a tattoo. Very clean shop. Princess added my kids names to a previous tat. I love it! Looks great and exactly what I wanted. I was born and raised in Newark. I moved away for several years, but then returned. While away, I acquired two tattoos from a great place. When I moved back, I wanted to find a place where I wasn't blindly walking into and hoping they'd do a good job. One of the tattoo artists at Munkehed Tatu is on my Facebook and would post various pictures of tattoos he had completed and was working on. I watched and analyzed this pictures for several months before even making a consultation regarding a half sleeve I wanted. I finally went to the shop and talked with Brian Pagas.  He was polite, professional, and eager to get started on my design. To make a long story short....my new tattoo is finished (after four sessions). It's a large piece, so it took a while to complete. I was very happy with not only the quality of the tattoo...but the friendliness of the staff. They would walk in to see the progress of my tat and were a lot of fun! First off.."tired of waiting" carried over from a previous review, doesnt apply here. Got my first tattoo this past Saturday(4-14) from Princess. It was a 9 hour session and, while still early in the healing process, the tattoo looks amazing. She took her time and was very meticulous, which made the process long, but I prefer that to quick and sloppy. The other artists were friendly as well, checking in from time to time to see how I was holding up and to give props for how well I was handling it. They were also very nice to my family when they stopped in. My only critique is information was not given unless asked, but if you're getting a tattoo you should ask every question that comes to mind to make sure you understand the process. When I asked a question it was answered thoroughly though, so no complaints. Overall it was a great experience, and I will recommend Munkehed to anyone interested in getting a tattoo, and I will never go anywhere else for my own in the future. *Update* all healed up, it does need some touchups and some lines that need fixed, but otherwise it looks really good. i went in to see a friend who was getting his tattoo done. Ron was very friendly and talkative while just us 3 were there but then a woman walked in and he yelled up to her "can i help you with something" and she was wondering what she needed for her daughter who was 16 in order for her to get a tattoo. he was pretty rude to her about it while listing what she needed. it was said in a matter of factly way and she walked out kind of upset. then after my friends tattoo was done he seemed very annoyed. i asked him about a previous piercing and he talked to me like i was 6. my friends tattoo looked wonderful but the guy needed a chill pill Read Less
