Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. Showed a very friendly young lady what I was planning on doing. She told me an approximate price and said I should walk in on Tuesday. A couple weeks later I walk in after work on aaTuesday and am greeted by an artist who really made it clear he had no use for me. When they finally figured out I wanted to get the art done and he was next up he then passed me off to another artist. Who that was I don't know because after about 10 minutes standing in the front of the establishment being ignored I decided to leave. Odd behavior. Went there on 4/20/2018, the best experience I've ever had hands down! I got a gift card at Christmas so I went in had my consultation and booked my appointment . The day of the appointment I walked in and was greeted by a nice young lady, I filled out my paperwork and waited for my tattoo artist to get set up. I was there a half an hour early lol . I walked in to the Hilliard Rome location for their Friday the thirteenth tattoo sale. I came in at noon to try and beat the crowd. Right away the guy told me that they weren't doing the sale at that location (not posted anywhere on their website.) ok fine, so I asked him if maybe anybody had any time that day. He was rude, dismissive and acted like I was a total moron for asking. He didn't suggest a time for me to come back or a different day, nothing. This was going to be my first tattoo and I felt I didn't belong there as soon as he opened his mouth. I get your artists were booked, I even can understand the mix up about the sale, but treating me like an idiot who's bothering you is unacceptable. I won't be back, don't waste your time here. I got my first tattoo with Brian and i was so scared coming in. I just recently moved down here so I didn’t know who to go to and Brian was assigned to me and I gave him my thoughts and imagination and he made it something beautiful and better than what I had pictured. My fiance and I went in for a quote on a tattoo a few weeks ago at 22 Caliber Tattoos in Hilliard. We were given an estimate of about $400 for 6 hours of work. Because this was a Christmas gift, I bought a gift card for him in the value of $500. The shop had a double value gift card sale going on so it was a perfect time. I had called the shop ahead of time to ask if there were any restrictions on the gift cards. The girl on the phone told me the only restriction was that they were only for tattoos. On the day of my fiance's tattoo appointment, we found out that the gift cards were not able to be used until after January 1st, 2018 (something that is NOT stated on the home page of their site where they have an express check-out for gift cards). This restriction is also NOWHERE on their social media advertising, it is literally only found on one page of their website. Furthermore, we were then told that the gift cards were subject to a $150/hr rate when being used, something that is NOT stated ANYWHERE on the site or within the shop. I have made multiple attempts to contact the shop via different methods and no one will get back to me. In addition, we cannot refund or sell the gift card so we're effectively SOL because of their shady marketing practices and information they failed to disclose anywhere as it relates to the purchase of these gift cards. I've debated writing a review for about a month now. My tattoo experience was decent. The woman who ran the front desk kept on asking when we'd be done, which was pretty annoying but I got over it. I paid for two tattoo and spent $300. I have a whole sleeve, so I knew how to take care of my ink, but i still listened to the artist. Both tattooos swelled for two weeks and had so much plasma drainage i had to dab it off every 30mins. I used aquaphor, as recommended and big mistake. My tattoos seeped ink. I used it once and tossed it. Went straight back to tattoo goo and thought the ink would heal fine.Until it turned a dark green. I have blowout lines along my wrist, all the color changed and just looks horrible. I saved my first tattoo, but the secone one... I don't even trust them to do a coverup on it. And it still peels and hurts three months later. The conversation is great and other tattoos look promising. But never has my colored tattoos looked like a blob till now. Read Less

I had an appointment for noon. Artist didn't even show up to the shop until 1230- no apology or anything. I had gotten a sitter so this is valuable time for me. I had one medium tattoo done and one small. I was there until 6 pm! While I don't by any means want to suggest that I want the artist to rush, these were not my first tattoos and I was there significantly longer than average. Again, while I'm paying for a sitter. Here's the kicker, I now have to go to a DIFFERENT artist at a DIFFERENT shop to FIX the tattoo I got done 3 weeks ago. The lines are spotty and the artist was too heavy handed and caused a tattoo blowout! Now I have to go somewhere else to get the blowout covered by someone that knows what they are doing. I was really hoping to make this artist my new go to guy, but now I'll never go back to the shop, and I suggest you don't either! Pay a little more for quality work Read Less

Hart was amazing! He worked on myself and my teenager. He actually drew up my daughters tat, Peter Pan themed. His artwork is detailed and impressive. And his personality was just as impressive! Great guy, great artist. Definitely will be visiting him again in the near future! Read Less

Went yesterday with my wife to get a piece done. I'll tell you, working with Anthony was a great experience. He took my ideas and turned them into a piece of art that I couldn't be more proud to show off. The cover up he did for my wife a couple months ago couldn't be more better. Been to the Hilliard shop and the German Village shop and been pleased every visit! Myself and my daughter have had work done and it's been great! We had to wait for my daughters tattoo for a while but it was no big deal since the artist fit us in and took his time even though it ran late. He even made up for it at the end by being especially nice. All durning my daughters first tattoo he was amazing. She was very self conscious and he was very comforting. Great place to get a tattoo until the artist you go to gets pissed at you and refuses to finish work he started knowing you already paid for the whole piece. Then to top it off talk to the manager, he agrees with everything i say .. agrees to finish the work and 2 weeks later ignores you... The quality of the work is amazing no doubt about that. However, the service is TERRIBLE! I made an appointment and the guy was still tattooing someone else. (that was fine I could wait) I waited 2 hours for this guy to finish and then his other appointment walked in then, so he gave me to someone else stating that he didn't want to have that girl wait after he made me wait 2 hours! So rude! Then I was priced at 75$ and when I went to pay it was $100. I never stiff an artist so I paid, but it would have been nice to know BEFORE I got it done! Read Less

Because I am transparent in my reviews, I am going to share one heck of an embarrassing story...I've been wanting to get my nose pierced (again) for a while but toyed with the idea until I felt solid about it. I searched Yelp for recommendations and settled on this place. I called early in the week and asked about pricing/walk-ins, etc. So I finally took the plunge this past weekend..I walked into a busy place, which is reassuring, people want to be here, typically means it's a solid place. Now, I'm from a small town and I have a tattoo artist whom I trust 1000% I wouldn't go anywhere else to get inked, shes an amazing artist. Piercings are a dime a dozen though, and I thought my research would uphold that thought. Sadly it did not...I walk in, it's busy, I was greeted by a guy who was shoving Chickfila fries down his hatch, and honestly he looked 3 sheets to the wind, but hey, those fries do that to me too, so I get it and if he was under some other influence, I don't judge, do you boo-boo. Plus it comes with the environment so I wasn't scared away. I told him I wanted my nose done, I filled out sheet and sat down. Waited until he was done eating (which hey, I get it, you're hungry, eat my friend. Though not the best first impression that should be given to a newbie, or anyone really, especially at the front desk.)After he was finished with dinner, he escorted me back and we chatted a little about placement, etc. After talking with him I felt fine with him doing the piercing in spite of my first impression. He seemed like a chill guy. Cool.Now, its gets bad... real bad..He pierces my nose and of course it hurts but it's fine, but then he tries to do something with the hoop that he put in my nose and apparently he fed the hoop through backward and can't close it. Yikes. So he tried to re-feed another hoop back through from the inside of my nose and ended up accidentally taking out the first hoop and then he couldn't get the second hoop through because the hole already started to close up.At this point, my stomach starts churning. I can handle pain and the slight discomfort of a piercing but I knew then and there this wasn't going to end well.He was apologizing to me and he asked me if I would want to sit through him putting the needle through again and I said no, I couldn't. He apologized profusely and offered to do it again at a later date, at no charge.Then all of a sudden I got this piercing noise in my head and I got really really dizzy and I started sweating immediately. I said I need to go to the bathroom and I threw up.It was so embarrassing because when I walked out of the bathroom he was standing there with another person. They had these awful looks on their faces, naturally because they just listened to me throw up.I apologized for getting sick (which is silly, it wasn't my fault). And again he apologized and I could tell he felt genuinely bad. I can't say "it happens" because in my 13 years of getting countless tattoos and piercings I have never had this happen before.The shop was clean, I made sure to check it out on my way back and out, and they seem like they are legit offering a decent tattoos. I have nothing but good things to say about this shop.. Everyone is very nice and professional! My husband needed a tattoo recolored, Kevin jumped right In did a great job. I liked the shop and artists there, however they're  unwilling to do a second touch-up. manager & owner ignoring private messages via Facebook (prior to this touch-up request messages were answered via Facebook). they'll do the touch-up when I come in for next tattoo so I was told. I'm a little nervous to write a review because I don't understand what the issue is? I worked in a hospital for 5+ years and know when something is clean and when it isn't, and this place seems pretty clean. If it wasn't, I def wouldn't have let them put any metal in my face.It was quick, to the point, and pretty friendly. (I also can't stand when someone has that attitude of like "you don't have any visible tattoos or piercings, so let me treat you like an idiot" but I didn't experience that either. A very well known tattoo artist lost my business with that attitude and I'm not cool with it.)I will likely return, even though it is completely out of my way, but I kind of like the idea of not running into people that I know.
