This is the first time I have ever written a review, and the only reason I write this is to share my experience and to educate those who are seeking to get a tattoo. I spoke with an artist at this facility, Iggy, about a sleeve I wanted to work on, and it was decided that we would accomplish this in roughly 16 hours of work, maybe more if need be. This artist has 20 plus years of experience, really seemed passionate about his work, and has done many amazing pieces for people.
We decided that the rate would be $150 an hour, a price that is very reasonable for experienced and talented artists. After 7 hours of work this artist only had the outline on my shoulder complete, roughly a 4 inch by 2 inch piece. No shading, no details, just a basic black outline. I am no tattoo expert, but was concerned with being $1000 invested with such little work complete. I expressed my concerns to the artist and asked to settle upon a set price for the piece, since this pace seemed to be a little slow. He declined, I accepted and respected his business model. After speaking to 8 different tattoo artists, speaking with friends with full sleeves, not only were they shocked by the limited progress Iggy had made, but they could not believe someone with 20 plus years of experience could rip off a customer to this extent.
With 8 hours left on the books with Iggy, which was supposed to cover the rest of my arm, but now was only limited to the shoulder piece, I respectfully explained I could not afford his pace and would have to cancel. He responded with saying he would do the remainder of the piece in 2 hours, for a total of $300. The remainder of this piece is the detailed shading, and realism which was supposed to take 16 hours, but now he is saying he could complete in 2 hours. It seemed funny to me that after saying I would take my business elsewhere that suddenly he could complete the rest in 2 hours instead of 8.
I try my best to assume positive intent in individuals, to give the benefit of the doubt, to not assume the worst. But after checking with multiple professionals, my suspicion was met. Iggy at Memento spent 7 hours of work, accumulating over $1,000 from me, for a piece that did not require that much time. He used someone like me who is ignorant to the tattoo process to make easy money off of.
Iggy does incredible work and I do not discredit his talent. I simply write this review to warn you of this shop and to be aware of how long a quality and long lasting tattoo takes, something that Iggy exceeded and took advantage of. I will gladly answer any questions and I stand by the review I have written.

I recommend this shop to anyone that asks me for a place to go. Iggy has been my tattoo artist for almost 10 years (before he was ever an artist at Memento). The tattoo on my upper arm still looks so fresh and it has been over 9 years. I get compliments on my tattoos whenever they are vvisible, even from people who start off by saying that they do not like tattoos. His line work is phenomenal and his attention to detail is amazing. He also cares about his clients and he really takes pride in his work.
If I could give this place more stars, I would.

I had a tattoo done by Caleb Ledley. When we made the appointment, he gave me his email to send images of what I wanted. He was so quick to respond and even sent me a picture of his drawing of the tattoo before the appointment to make sure I liked it. On the day of the appointment, everything was extremely, I mean almost surgically, sterile and clean. Caleb changed his gloves every time he did something different, no matter what it was. He gave me several breaks from the tattoo, making me feel very comfortable, and the end result was totally worth all the time and, yes, pain. I am extremely happy with my tattoo and my experience and plan to go back for my next tattoo. I highly recommend this place and recommend Caleb as your tattoo artist. His customer service and tattoo quality was excellent overall.

I don't really know what star rating to give Memento because I never actually made it in. Called several times to set up an appointment with no answer-- I thought maybe the phone was off or something, though it was the middle of the business day on a Monday (their hours are listed 12-6)-- so I stopped by to hopefully get a consult , meet an artist, or even just set up an appointment in person! But the place was closed. I sent a Facebook message asking if they are usually closed Mondays so I would know for future reference when to call, and no one replied. Or called me back after I left a message. I went somewhere else! I'd love to get work done here as the gallery of photos look amazing and I've heard great things from friends. Unfortunately, bad first impression on business practices. I didn't give a bad rating because I don't doubt that the artists do great work-- I'm posting this review to hopefully FINALLY get in contact with someone.

I wanted to get a replica of my kitten's pawprint since I had to euthanize her after only having her for a week. He was able to get me in two days later. The tattoo is beautiful and almost exactly like her ink pawprint, including stamp-like detail, which was so important to me. The shop was clean, the atmosphere was nice, and Ryan was so friendly and caring. I would recommend Memento to anyone.

I wanted to get a replica of my kitten's pawprint since I had to euthanize her after only having her for a week. He was able to get me in two days later. My fiancé and I got koi fish tattoos yesterday at Memento, and it was the best service I've ever experienced when it comes to tattoo shops. Clean, very polite, and Ryan came in on his day off to get ours finished. He worked for 6 hours, the price was great, and his work is FANTASTIC! Lines are clean and the color is so vibrant. 100% would recommend.

I've had phenomenal experience with Memento and tend to recommend it when asked. I'm always asked about the tattoo I got here, a large tree down my back by the no longer here Adam, which I got in just over 2 hours total. I came back a year later to get my other two tattoos touched up as well and had a good experience with Cory. They're typically booked for a while in advance, but that tells you what sort of demand is in place for these artists. I'll definitely be considering Memento for future tattoos.

When I arrive at 5:30 for my 5:30 appointment, the shop is closed. However buisness hours were 12-7 that day. Was stood up by my artist. He had my email and phone number too had thier been any question as to whether or not I was going to show. No phone call, no email, no text. Nothing. I will never recommend this shop and will never go back. Bad buisness practices.

I am giving it a one star because I had a horrifying experience. When I researched this place I saw nothing but good review so naturally I thought it would be a great place to get my second tattoo here. I contacted the owner - Cary through yelp yo set up an appointment and Cary was very responsive and professional. The day of my appointment I had forgot my design at home since I was rushing to get out of the house. I told Cary about it when I got to the shop and he told me not to worry because he can type it up on his computer and print it out for me. I wanted him to take my phone to type it since I had taken a picture of him. And maybe because he thought he was very experienced and wouldn't make a mistake he said, "no no I got it. I don't need to take your phone" he came out and put it on my arm for me to check if it looks good or not. Since it was my second tattoo and this place had such good reviews I didn't think of double checking if the phrase or writing is correct I just saw it was the place I wanted and said to him it is good to go. The process took 10 mins and he wrapped it up. Once I gotten home I realized he made a big mistake. My tattoo should say, " be not afraid i go before you always 31:8" but Cary typed it wrong on my computer and put "be not afraid i go before you always 3:18" I am a catholic and this was suppose to be representation of my religion and I had gotten a completely wrong phrase on the Bible. It is very insulting of my religion. I emailed Cary and he said to come in and he can fix it. I went back and demanded a full refund because it was his fault, but his attitude gave off that it was all my fault for not checking. He initially offered me a gift card and I told him I would never ever get another tattoo let alone go back to his store again. After arguing he finally agreed to refund me half of my money back. But this is obviously not about the money it is about the principle. He did not own up to his mistake and gave 100% the blame to me. I am very traumatized by this experience and would never get another tattoo again. This has been a really painful experience. I do not recommend this place since Cary is the owner so his actions represents the whole store and I am still very very upset by the whole thing.

Scott did my very first tattoo ever (on my foot - I may be insane) and was really good at making me feel at ease with the whole process. Two years later, that first tattoo is still my favorite, I've gone back for two more (another one from Scott, one from Ryan), and will likely go back to see Iggy at some point next year. I've also recommended the place to more than one person, and have only gotten good feedback from those people as well.The shop is bright and clean, and as far as I can tell, they disinfect tools and hands more than most doctors I've been to. The waiting area is comfy, which admittedly is good, because a 12:30 appointment usually means that's when your artist comes in, and you'll be in their chair around 1 or 1:30 after they're done setting up. But whatever, now that I know that, I can plan for it, and the work is completely worth the wait.

I hope to return to Momento for more ink. Thank you guys! I am only giving 1 star. I had been trying to get a hold of Ryan Campbell for a tattoo. And it's been over 1 month and all I have heard us he like to be contacted via email. So that's what I did, I emailed him, except he has yet to respond. I called him and told him I HAVE CASH IN HAD FOR A HALF SLEEVE, but still no call or email back. He does great work but has shitty customer service. FYI.... They go hand in hand. Just saying.

Memento was hands down the best tattoo shop I've ever been in. Everybody is super friendly and helpful. The place is covered with badass artwork (done by the artists) and it is super clean and just gives off a good atmosphere. From what I can tell all of the artists are very talented. My artist was Scott and he was fucking awesome. He was so nice and helped me create my own design of what I wanted and it could not have possibly turned out any more beautiful. He did such an incredible job no exaggeration. It is so hard to find such a great tattoo shop with super welcoming and laid back people. I would suggest this place to anybody. And if you disagree with me then your insane.

I have been getting my tattoo worked on for the past year and a half by Iggy. All the artists at memento are amazing, but I love Iggy's work. It's been amazing watching the progress on my piece. Yes it takes a long time, but that's because he is very picky with his work and I wouldn't want it any other way. I'd rather have an artist who takes his time to make it look amazing than someone who rushes. I still have a way to go before it's finished, but I get constant compliments even with the unfinished piece. He's my go to guy from now on. All the staff and artists are very nice and the shop is immaculate. I've been extremely happy with each visit.

Let me start by saying this was my first tattoo experience and I wanted a World Map outline on my ribs. I had emailed Scott about the idea and he responded very quickly and I had an appointment two days later. I went in a didn't know what to expect really but Scott was awesome. He eased me into getting the tattoo and continuously asked if I was alright. He even managed to map all the tiny islands on the map show up. Very impressive artist and shop!! I got my first tattoo here after years of planning and deciding what to get. Cary was super friendly, professional and immediately made me feel comfortable. The interior is super clean and organized. Most importantly, Cary did a fantastic job. I spoke with him a couple of months before the session and sent him the design I wanted for the tattoo. He made some subtle changes to the design, especially with how it was shaded, and I couldn't be happier with the end result. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Memento Tattoo to anyone. I know I'll be coming back in the future for the color phase of my tattoo and future designs.

The waiting area has portfolios of all the artists work, and all looked outstanding!The receptionist said the only available artist was the owner (Cary I think) but he had stepped out for lunch. He returned a few minutes later with his lunch, and informed me he wanted to eat before his 5 because it was a large job, and asked that I come back after that. I told him I lived in Orient and that would be a long drive, so he asked what I had in mind, and since it was just a small single color 5 character job, he said he could squeeze me in. 20 minutes later, Im done...its just what I wanted, and it was perfect! Price was $80, and I tipped him $20 for getting me in and delaying his lunchGreat artist, great work, and great customer service!Nice job Memento!!

Obviously I'm a little biased, but I'm also super critical and picky having had a couple of ... less satisfactory tats done previously. The shading is beautiful, the outlines are *razor* sharp, and the design perfect.The rest of the guys at Memento seem a really cool bunch, everyone I've seen leaving seems as happy as I am with my work, so it's as safe a bet as you'll find. Prices are... well if I'm honest I think they're too low. $100 an hour for that level of skill kinda feels like I've ripped him off in hindsight, but given I'm planning on getting a full sleeve done at Memento it probably evens out ;)I'm well over an hour away, and it's worth every minute of that god awful boring ass drive from dayton. If you're anywhere in ohio, trust me they're worth the trip for some top quality tattoo work. The gallery they've got in the shop is ace too!

This place was great! I was in front out of town, staying with a few friends, and have been wanting to get a tattoo for awhile now. My normal tattoo artist is booked until September so I thought, "Hell, while I'm here, I'll see if they have any good places to get a tattoo". This place had fantastic reviews, so I called and asked if they took any walk-ins, which the nice guy on the phone replied that they did and he'd check to see if anyone was available. He took my info and called me back within the hour and said to come in, there had been a cancellation. The guy who did my tattoo, Cary, was not only smokin' hot, but did a great job. The place was clean, large and seemed like a fun place to be. A little pricey, more than I am used to in Detroit, but worth it.

These guys are crazy talented with their artwork. My artist wasn't much of a talker and didn't go over the sterilization/safety requirements, which definitely should have been done. They seemed a little unorganized and I waited for about an hour after my scheduled appointment before we got started which was a little annoying, but after a long night out I just sort of dozed off on their big comfy couch. I have several other tattoos, but after coming here I have realized that other tattoo "artists'" claims of not being able to make lines very small or thin were complete B.S. I am much happier with the results than I initially anticipated. The price was very reasonable for the high quality of work. My only qualm was waiting for so long and not being given the procedural talk as I always have (I have 8 tattoos). That said, I will absolutely go back for any more work and probably for a cover-up, and definitely recommend them. Just be sure to ask any questions you might have!Also, they had the History Channel on tv. Big plus because I'm a big history geek!

I did some research before getting my first tattoo and decided to check out Memento Tattoo based on yelp and google reviews. I called beforehand and the receptionist was really helpful and nice. When I went in to show my sketch, Cary, my artist was super nice and gave me tips on what would look good/bad and how he could modify my design for the size I wanted. My roommate and I both got tattoos. Being younger women getting first tattoos I expected to be patronized a little but he was nothing but respectful and nice. The place is really clean and organized and the prices were very reasonable. This place is legit and I have not a complaint to write. Great gem.

My experience at Memento Tattoo getting work done by David Tevenal was great. I've been to a few other tattoo shops in Columbus over the years and the vibe at Memento seems the most laid back and attitude free. All the folks there are super friendly. The shop is bright, super clean and full of art, which reminds you that's what you're getting, a piece of art. I had stumbled upon some of David Tevenal's tattoos on tattoosnob.com and after looking at his Facebook page and seeing his art and tattoos, I immediately fell in love with his work and more importantly his work-ethic. The guy is constantly churning out page after page of flash work and hitting the road going to conventions. That really impressed me and is why I ended up traveling from LA to Columbus to get a tattoo from him.David did a big cover up piece on my lower leg. First session took about four hours and I am going back in January to get the color done now that I am all healed. I definitely recommend checking out Memento for your next tattoo and can't speak more highly of David Tevenal and his tattoos.

Memento is a fantastic shop! I went in to have a consultation with one of the owners, Scott a few weeks ago. He was very professional and instantly put me at ease with my cover up I had in mind.When the time came for my appointment, Scott was super nice and gentle. I have about 9 tattoos in all, and I've had good and bad tattoo experiences. Scott freehanded the whole tattoo and it cam out flawless. I can't speak highly enough of Memento. It's clean, and the people in the shop are professional and very talented. I suggest checking the place out if you have an itch (and tolerance for pain) for a tattoo!

Holy shit. How has no one reviewed Memento Tattoo Gallery on Yelp, yet?FIRST!Alright, so do you have really shitty tattoos? Well, that's your fault for not going to an awesome shop like Memento that houses three of Columbus' best tattooists. I'm not joking, either. Just look online at the work of other Columbus tattooists, then look at Memento's work. There's no comparison. I've met Cary and Scott -- two gnarly and super-talented artists -- but only have worked with Dave Tevenal, who I can't say enough about. The man is a wildly inspired artist who can claim three pieces on my body and will most likely be able to claim a couple more before I'm dead or my skin is too damn nasty and wrinkled for tattoos.So next time you're looking up Columbus tattooists, hit up Memento before you commit to another shitty street shop tattoo.

This is the first time I have ever written a review, and the only reason I write this is to share my experience and to educate those who are seeking to get a tattoo. I spoke with an artist at this facility, Iggy, about a sleeve I wanted to work on, and it was decided that we would accomplish this in roughly 16 hours of work, maybe more if need be. This artist has 20 plus years of experience, really seemed passionate about his work, and has done many amazing pieces for people.
We decided that the rate would be $150 an hour, a price that is very reasonable for experienced and talented artists. After 7 hours of work this artist only had the outline on my shoulder complete, roughly a 4 inch by 2 inch piece. No shading, no details, just a basic black outline. I am no tattoo expert, but was concerned with being $1000 invested with such little work complete. I expressed my concerns to the artist and asked to settle upon a set price for the piece, since this pace seemed to be a little slow. He declined, I accepted and respected his business model. After speaking to 8 different tattoo artists, speaking with friends with full sleeves, not only were they shocked by the limited progress Iggy had made, but they could not believe someone with 20 plus years of experience could rip off a customer to this extent.
With 8 hours left on the books with Iggy, which was supposed to cover the rest of my arm, but now was only limited to the shoulder piece, I respectfully explained I could not afford his pace and would have to cancel. He responded with saying he would do the remainder of the piece in 2 hours, for a total of $300. The remainder of this piece is the detailed shading, and realism which was supposed to take 16 hours, but now he is saying he could complete in 2 hours. It seemed funny to me that after saying I would take my business elsewhere that suddenly he could complete the rest in 2 hours instead of 8.
I try my best to assume positive intent in individuals, to give the benefit of the doubt, to not assume the worst. But after checking with multiple professionals, my suspicion was met. Iggy at Memento spent 7 hours of work, accumulating over $1,000 from me, for a piece that did not require that much time. He used someone like me who is ignorant to the tattoo process to make easy money off of.
Iggy does incredible work and I do not discredit his talent. I simply write this review to warn you of this shop and to be aware of how long a quality and long lasting tattoo takes, something that Iggy exceeded and took advantage of. I will gladly answer any questions and I stand by the review I have written.

I recommend this shop to anyone that asks me for a place to go. Iggy has been my tattoo artist for almost 10 years (before he was ever an artist at Memento). The tattoo on my upper arm still looks so fresh and it has been over 9 years. I get compliments on my tattoos whenever they are vvisible, even from people who start off by saying that they do not like tattoos. His line work is phenomenal and his attention to detail is amazing. He also cares about his clients and he really takes pride in his work.
If I could give this place more stars, I would.

I had a tattoo done by Caleb Ledley. When we made the appointment, he gave me his email to send images of what I wanted. He was so quick to respond and even sent me a picture of his drawing of the tattoo before the appointment to make sure I liked it. On the day of the appointment, everything was extremely, I mean almost surgically, sterile and clean. Caleb changed his gloves every time he did something different, no matter what it was. He gave me several breaks from the tattoo, making me feel very comfortable, and the end result was totally worth all the time and, yes, pain. I am extremely happy with my tattoo and my experience and plan to go back for my next tattoo. I highly recommend this place and recommend Caleb as your tattoo artist. His customer service and tattoo quality was excellent overall.

Called several times to set up an appointment with no answer-- I thought maybe the phone was off or something, though it was the middle of the business day on a Monday (their hours are listed 12-6)-- so I stopped by to hopefully get a consult , meet an artist, or even just set up an appointment in person! But the place was closed. I sent a Facebook message asking if they are usually closed Mondays so I would know for future reference when to call, and no one replied. Or called me back after I left a message. I went somewhere else! I'd love to get work done here as the gallery of photos look amazing and I've heard great things from friends. Unfortunately, bad first impression on business practices. I didn't give a bad rating because I don't doubt that the artists do great work-- I'm posting this review to hopefully FINALLY get in contact with someone.

I wanted to get a replica of my kitten's pawprint since I had to euthanize her after only having her for a week. He was able to get me in two days later. The tattoo is beautiful and almost exactly like her ink pawprint, including stamp-like detail, which was so important to me. The shop was clean, the atmosphere was nice, and Ryan was so friendly and caring. I would recommend Memento to anyone.

I wanted to get a replica of my kitten's pawprint since I had to euthanize her after only having her for a week. He was able to get me in two days later. I've had phenomenal experience with Memento and tend to recommend it when asked. I'm always asked about the tattoo I got here, a large tree down my back by the no longer here Adam, which I got in just over 2 hours total. I came back a year later to get my other two tattoos touched up as well and had a good experience with Cory. They're typically booked for a while in advance, but that tells you what sort of demand is in place for these artists. I'll definitely be considering Memento for future tattoos.

When I arrive at 5:30 for my 5:30 appointment, the shop is closed. However buisness hours were 12-7 that day. Was stood up by my artist. He had my email and phone number too had thier been any question as to whether or not I was going to show. No phone call, no email, no text. Nothing. I will never recommend this shop and will never go back. Bad buisness practices.

I am giving it a one star because I had a horrifying experience. When I researched this place I saw nothing but good review so naturally I thought it would be a great place to get my second tattoo here. I contacted the owner - Cary through yelp yo set up an appointment and Cary was very responsive and professional. The day of my appointment I had forgot my design at home since I was rushing to get out of the house. I told Cary about it when I got to the shop and he told me not to worry because he can type it up on his computer and print it out for me. I wanted him to take my phone to type it since I had taken a picture of him. And maybe because he thought he was very experienced and wouldn't make a mistake he said, "no no I got it. I don't need to take your phone" he came out and put it on my arm for me to check if it looks good or not. Since it was my second tattoo and this place had such good reviews I didn't think of double checking if the phrase or writing is correct I just saw it was the place I wanted and said to him it is good to go. The process took 10 mins and he wrapped it up. Once I gotten home I realized he made a big mistake. My tattoo should say, " be not afraid i go before you always 31:8" but Cary typed it wrong on my computer and put "be not afraid i go before you always 3:18" I am a catholic and this was suppose to be representation of my religion and I had gotten a completely wrong phrase on the Bible. It is very insulting of my religion. I emailed Cary and he said to come in and he can fix it. I went back and demanded a full refund because it was his fault, but his attitude gave off that it was all my fault for not checking. He initially offered me a gift card and I told him I would never ever get another tattoo let alone go back to his store again. After arguing he finally agreed to refund me half of my money back. But this is obviously not about the money it is about the principle. He did not own up to his mistake and gave 100% the blame to me. I am very traumatized by this experience and would never get another tattoo again. This has been a really painful experience. I do not recommend this place since Cary is the owner so his actions represents the whole store and I am still very very upset by the whole thing.

Scott did my very first tattoo ever (on my foot - I may be insane) and was really good at making me feel at ease with the whole process. Two years later, that first tattoo is still my favorite, I've gone back for two more (another one from Scott, one from Ryan), and will likely go back to see Iggy at some point next year. I've also recommended the place to more than one person, and have only gotten good feedback from those people as well.The shop is bright and clean, and as far as I can tell, they disinfect tools and hands more than most doctors I've been to. The waiting area is comfy, which admittedly is good, because a 12:30 appointment usually means that's when your artist comes in, and you'll be in their chair around 1 or 1:30 after they're done setting up. But whatever, now that I know that, I can plan for it, and the work is completely worth the wait.

Clean shop, great artists. I've sat for one piece from Ryan, and two pieces by Cary. These gentlemen and the rest of their talented artists and staff make you feel welcome, and want to give you a great experience. Will definitely be back for more tattoos.

I hope to return to Momento for more ink. Thank you guys! I am only giving 1 star. I had been trying to get a hold of Ryan Campbell for a tattoo. And it's been over 1 month and all I have heard us he like to be contacted via email. So that's what I did, I emailed him, except he has yet to respond. I called him and told him I HAVE CASH IN HAD FOR A HALF SLEEVE, but still no call or email back. He does great work but has shitty customer service. FYI.... They go hand in hand. Just saying.

Memento was hands down the best tattoo shop I've ever been in. Everybody is super friendly and helpful. The place is covered with badass artwork (done by the artists) and it is super clean and just gives off a good atmosphere. From what I can tell all of the artists are very talented. My artist was Scott and he was fucking awesome. He was so nice and helped me create my own design of what I wanted and it could not have possibly turned out any more beautiful. He did such an incredible job no exaggeration. It is so hard to find such a great tattoo shop with super welcoming and laid back people. I would suggest this place to anybody. And if you disagree with me then your insane.

I have been getting my tattoo worked on for the past year and a half by Iggy. All the artists at memento are amazing, but I love Iggy's work. It's been amazing watching the progress on my piece. Yes it takes a long time, but that's because he is very picky with his work and I wouldn't want it any other way. I'd rather have an artist who takes his time to make it look amazing than someone who rushes. I still have a way to go before it's finished, but I get constant compliments even with the unfinished piece. He's my go to guy from now on. All the staff and artists are very nice and the shop is immaculate. I've been extremely happy with each visit.

Let me start by saying this was my first tattoo experience and I wanted a World Map outline on my ribs. I had emailed Scott about the idea and he responded very quickly and I had an appointment two days later. I went in a didn't know what to expect really but Scott was awesome. He eased me into getting the tattoo and continuously asked if I was alright. He even managed to map all the tiny islands on the map show up. Very impressive artist and shop!! I got my first tattoo here after years of planning and deciding what to get. Cary was super friendly, professional and immediately made me feel comfortable. The interior is super clean and organized. Most importantly, Cary did a fantastic job. I spoke with him a couple of months before the session and sent him the design I wanted for the tattoo. He made some subtle changes to the design, especially with how it was shaded, and I couldn't be happier with the end result. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Memento Tattoo to anyone. I know I'll be coming back in the future for the color phase of my tattoo and future designs.

The waiting area has portfolios of all the artists work, and all looked outstanding!The receptionist said the only available artist was the owner (Cary I think) but he had stepped out for lunch. He returned a few minutes later with his lunch, and informed me he wanted to eat before his 5 because it was a large job, and asked that I come back after that. I told him I lived in Orient and that would be a long drive, so he asked what I had in mind, and since it was just a small single color 5 character job, he said he could squeeze me in. 20 minutes later, Im done...its just what I wanted, and it was perfect! Price was $80, and I tipped him $20 for getting me in and delaying his lunchGreat artist, great work, and great customer service!Nice job Memento!!

Best tattoo shop I've ever visited, and there's been a few. I chose Adam to do some traditional Sailor Jerry inspired work on my forearm, sent him a couple of pictures of stuff I'd be happy with - literally the best examples I could find on tumblr, Pinterest etc. I figured if he could get them half as good I'd be well impressed.Fast forward to now and I'm sat with ink I'm seriously pleased with after a 4 or 5 hour session yesterday afternoon. As soon as he brought his drawing out I knew I'd picked the right guy.Adam absolutely nailed it and what I got not only beat my expectations, but blow the pictures I sent him out of the water, I honestly can't find a better example after 2 hours of trawling the web, it's amazing! Obviously I'm a little biased, but I'm also super critical and picky having had a couple of ... less satisfactory tats done previously. The shading is beautiful, the outlines are *razor* sharp, and the design perfect.The rest of the guys at Memento seem a really cool bunch, everyone I've seen leaving seems as happy as I am with my work, so it's as safe a bet as you'll find. Prices are... well if I'm honest I think they're too low. $100 an hour for that level of skill kinda feels like I've ripped him off in hindsight, but given I'm planning on getting a full sleeve done at Memento it probably evens out ;)I'm well over an hour away, and it's worth every minute of that god awful boring ass drive from dayton. If you're anywhere in ohio, trust me they're worth the trip for some top quality tattoo work. The gallery they've got in the shop is ace too!

This place was great! I was in front out of town, staying with a few friends, and have been wanting to get a tattoo for awhile now. My normal tattoo artist is booked until September so I thought, "Hell, while I'm here, I'll see if they have any good places to get a tattoo". This place had fantastic reviews, so I called and asked if they took any walk-ins, which the nice guy on the phone replied that they did and he'd check to see if anyone was available. He took my info and called me back within the hour and said to come in, there had been a cancellation. The guy who did my tattoo, Cary, was not only smokin' hot, but did a great job. The place was clean, large and seemed like a fun place to be. A little pricey, more than I am used to in Detroit, but worth it.

These guys are crazy talented with their artwork. My artist wasn't much of a talker and didn't go over the sterilization/safety requirements, which definitely should have been done. They seemed a little unorganized and I waited for about an hour after my scheduled appointment before we got started which was a little annoying, but after a long night out I just sort of dozed off on their big comfy couch. I have several other tattoos, but after coming here I have realized that other tattoo "artists'" claims of not being able to make lines very small or thin were complete B.S. I am much happier with the results than I initially anticipated. The price was very reasonable for the high quality of work. My only qualm was waiting for so long and not being given the procedural talk as I always have (I have 8 tattoos). That said, I will absolutely go back for any more work and probably for a cover-up, and definitely recommend them. Just be sure to ask any questions you might have!Also, they had the History Channel on tv. Big plus because I'm a big history geek!

I did some research before getting my first tattoo and decided to check out Memento Tattoo based on yelp and google reviews. I called beforehand and the receptionist was really helpful and nice. When I went in to show my sketch, Cary, my artist was super nice and gave me tips on what would look good/bad and how he could modify my design for the size I wanted. My roommate and I both got tattoos. Being younger women getting first tattoos I expected to be patronized a little but he was nothing but respectful and nice. The place is really clean and organized and the prices were very reasonable. This place is legit and I have not a complaint to write. Great gem.

My experience at Memento Tattoo getting work done by David Tevenal was great. I've been to a few other tattoo shops in Columbus over the years and the vibe at Memento seems the most laid back and attitude free. All the folks there are super friendly. The shop is bright, super clean and full of art, which reminds you that's what you're getting, a piece of art. I had stumbled upon some of David Tevenal's tattoos on tattoosnob.com and after looking at his Facebook page and seeing his art and tattoos, I immediately fell in love with his work and more importantly his work-ethic. The guy is constantly churning out page after page of flash work and hitting the road going to conventions. That really impressed me and is why I ended up traveling from LA to Columbus to get a tattoo from him.David did a big cover up piece on my lower leg. First session took about four hours and I am going back in January to get the color done now that I am all healed. I definitely recommend checking out Memento for your next tattoo and can't speak more highly of David Tevenal and his tattoos.

He was very professional and instantly put me at ease with my cover up I had in mind.When the time came for my appointment, Scott was super nice and gentle. I have about 9 tattoos in all, and I've had good and bad tattoo experiences. Scott freehanded the whole tattoo and it cam out flawless. I can't speak highly enough of Memento. It's clean, and the people in the shop are professional and very talented. I suggest checking the place out if you have an itch (and tolerance for pain) for a tattoo!

Holy shit. How has no one reviewed Memento Tattoo Gallery on Yelp, yet?FIRST!Alright, so do you have really shitty tattoos? Well, that's your fault for not going to an awesome shop like Memento that houses three of Columbus' best tattooists. I'm not joking, either. Just look online at the work of other Columbus tattooists, then look at Memento's work. There's no comparison. I've met Cary and Scott -- two gnarly and super-talented artists -- but only have worked with Dave Tevenal, who I can't say enough about. The man is a wildly inspired artist who can claim three pieces on my body and will most likely be able to claim a couple more before I'm dead or my skin is too damn nasty and wrinkled for tattoos.So next time you're looking up Columbus tattooists, hit up Memento before you commit to another shitty street shop tattoo.
