My friend and I were both tattooed by Alli. No complaints! The studio itself is small but very clean and welcoming. In some ways it looks more like a local coffee shop than a tattoo studio and I like that vibe. Prices were reasonable. Alli MacGregor is fantastic!  I had the BEST experience out of 3 at this shop.  Not only does the previous work I had done by other Columbus area artists look BETTER after her hand blessed my skin but I am no longer embarrassed of my tattoo(s) and/or showing my tattoo'd body part out in public.  These folks were more professional and courteous to me than the other supposed professionals in this field in Columbus - I do not exaggerate. My body/skin is saved and also my sundresses because I will be so proud to wear them again and when asked where my beautiful tattoo came from I will shout, "Cap City Tattoo!"I actually really am looking forward to having more work done at this shop and by Alli if she'll have me.  Thank you Alli and all the nice people at Cap City!Namaste, Live Long and Prosper, Go In Peace Read Less

This is the best tattoo shop in Columbus. All the artists are incredibly talented, laid back (easy to work with, joke around with and feel relaxed with while getting the ink!). The shop itself is clean and cozy and has a great welcoming vibe. I love everything I've gotten at this shop, and have visited quite a few in the area- this is the best... I have wanted another tattoo for awhile but am petrified of money, pain and permanence.  A few friends of mine have the most beautiful tattoos and have been urging me to go to Cap City because I am always admiring their tattoos.  I have known what I wanted for a while but was too afraid.  Anyways, I bit the bullet and went in.  I met Ally and she was helpful, friendly and honest.  We set clear expectations for what I wanted and she was aware of my fears.  I immediately felt at ease there.  The day of my appointment I was a nervous wreck.  I was greeted at the door by her adorable beagle who is the shop therapy dog.  Um, yeah, that was helpful.  She then showed me my design.  I cried, her artwork was so beautiful and she really listened to everything I wanted and the way I wanted it.  She is a true talent.Then we started. People said she had a light touch and that the hip didn't hurt.  I, of course, did not believe them.  I was shocked at how easy it went.  She talked to me when I wanted to talk and was silent when I needed silence.  She was funny and personable. I can't believe I am actually saying this but it didn't hurt that bad! I have 20+ hours of tattooing from Alli MacGregor, owner of Cap City. Alli is an incredibly talented artist. Her vision for fine details and cohesiveness really set her artwork apart from her peers. Alli did my first tattoo and killed it (my left-arm half sleeve) so I went back for my right arm half sleeve and couldn't be happier. I love the folks at Cap City! Alli, Andy, Brian and Phil are some of the most welcoming people and wonderful artists I have ever met, certainly within the tattoo industry. Since the shop first opened, I have had nearly 15 hours of tattoo work done, and am thrilled with all of it. Unlike some previous experiences in other tattoo shops, I have always felt comfortable and respected at Cap City. The shop itself is immaculate, and the high-ceiling-walls double as an art gallery, with paintings or drawings from Ohio artists always on display. There is usually a busily-sketching apprentice to greet walk-ins, and the artists themselves take the time to listen to tattoo ideas and offer some insight and enthusiasm. At the end of my first session I got some detailed information about aftercare, and all my tattoos have healed beautifully and without any fallout or splotches. In addition, all of the work I've had done at Cap City is highly detailed and visible in normal clothing, and I regularly receive compliments on not just the art itself, but on the incredible detail of the tattoos and the skill of the artist. My only regret is that I will be moving out of state next year, and can't take these guys with me!! As a final thought, I would like to point out that (as a woman myself) some tattoo shops and some tattoo artists can be uncomfortable or creepy when the client is a women. This is not the case at Cap City! All the folks there are honest, genuine people and I strongly feel that it is a safe and comfortable place for any woman to get tattooed, whether it is her first tattoo or her fiftieth. Read Less
