Audrey had done both my tattoos. Large ones in color on my beautiful medium brown skin. I'm going again in the next few weeks. I had my wrist tattoo done by Maddie in April, then touched up in July. I used to live in Akron - so I was happy to travel back home to get my tattoo done at Assassin. For me, it's worth the 350-mile trek from where I live outside of Washington, DC. I cannot praise this place and Maddie enough. This is a very good shop with seriously talented people. I've been collecting for 13 years, have several large pieces and was needing a local artist after moving cross country. I take that decision very seriously as this is permanent and I usually want very techbical pieces that can go badly easily. I do not want poor quality or a bad experience. I happened upon Jesse Keller's work which lead me to this shop. He has now done 2 sessions for me and his work as well as the other people at the shop is just top notch. Not like the tattoo parlors of yesteryear and that was a relief.  I used to feel my life was in danger but definitely not here.  Yes, there were skulls, snakes, and a little t&a but it was all good.  My last ink was almost twenty years ago. Yesterday was my first tattoo done at this shop in particular, partially covering a tattoo and livening up the rest of it. Maddie was my artist, and she couldn't have done a better job. It was easy to walk in to get a consultation and set up an appointment, and the appointment was scheduled very soon after. Maddie did some free-hand work, and I'm in love with it. The price was also very reasonable. She was really laid back, and everyone was fun to talk to - it was a really comfortable experience with incredible work. my first experience with assassin was when they did the $23 cavs tattoos last summer. i got my tattoo by holly and i loved it! then this year i decided to cover up a tattoo on my chest. i went to assassin because i knew each artist was great. i ended up chosing holly, put my deposit down, and scheduled my appointment. on march 3rd, i got my cover-up, but left with it unfinished. i loved what i had so far. the next day, i called and scheduled an appointment to have it finished.... the appointment was for march 25th with holly (obviously). on march 23rd, i e-mailed the shop with a question about my upcoming appointment. only to be told that holly is no longer there, but in cleveland instead. i was in shock. this was TWO days before my scheduled appointment. no one thought it was important to notify holly's clients that she was no longer there. unprofessional is putting it lightly. i would have been livid had i walked into the shop and been told she was not there. i was set on having holly finish my tattoo. so i made the trip to cleveland. from now on i will be making that trip. Told the artist I had $500 for a cover up. Went to first session paid $500. Came back to finish and was told it would be $450? WHAT!?!? Now I got a giant black blob outline that you can still see the old tattoo behind. I have bad vibes and given the nature of the product at hand I can not return, as I feel "bait and switched". Wonderful studio! All of the staff was super friendly. Comfortable tattooing room and VERY CLEAN. They're connected to the tavern next door and share a restroom with them, also very clean. Good lighting everywhere, which is important in a place where they're going to permanently scar your body!Sara was my artist and she did a wonderful job with my piece. I came in with a loose idea and she formed it up and made it exactly what I wanted. She made me feel very relaxed about the whole process and made sure I was comfortable about everything. While visiting family members in the area, we decided to stop procrastinating and get the tattoos we had been contemplating. We explored various options locally and decided to go with Assassins. We decided to swing by the day before we wanted to come in to consult the artist and check out the place. Great first impression. Shaun took the time to consult with us and listen to our ideas and was happy to contribute his own artistic flare. They were able to get us in the next day, four of us, all together, but warned that there are busy seasons when this wouldn't be an option on short notice. This was my second tattoo, but the first for the family members I was visiting, and Shaun was great, I thought, in making us feel at ease. I am very pleased with the way my tattoo, from design, to the time it took, to after care instructions, to healing and final appearance. It looks and feels great just under two weeks later. I absolutely would, and hope to visit again. I have more ideas formulating and I trust it would be another great experience to visit Assassins again. We were in the shop waiting for several hours on each other to finish between the four of us and staff made sure we were comfortable and didn't have any questions.
