This place is wonderful! While on vacation I got a tattoo. I came here because I heard great things. Nick was my tattoo artist and I can't speak highly enough about him. He took an idea I had and worked with pictures I gave him to create something unique and beautiful. But more than that, he was professional and hilarious, and he consistently checked to make sure I was ok and feeling well throughout the process. I went in on February 29, 2015 to get a piercing. I was with a group doing the Cape Fear Roller Girl's Scavenger hunt and I'd wanted to get my helix done for awhile, I figured that then was as good of a time as any, especially since extra points were awarded for the scavenger hunt. I waited for a little over any hour to get it done. The man working the front desk was delightful. However, it's your piercer that I have an issue with. I specifically asked Ted for TITANIUM as my body can't handle anything else (except Niobium) - it rejects stainless steel and surgical steel no matter what the grade & I end going to the doctor if it's not caught soon enough. He assured me that what he was going to use was titanium. I went through with the piercing. 3 days later I was at home and my ear started bleeding profusely. Much worse than when I had it done originally, I was also in extreme discomfort from the piercing. I called my usual piercing artist (not Ted) and he told me to come in the next day. Upon visiting him at his studio, we changed my piercing out for Niobium. Before the original jewelry that Ted put in was removed, it was discovered that the piercing was done with a bigger needle than the jewelry - you could see the empty space around the jewelry that I took for scabbing and healthy discharge build up. Additionally, due to my level of discomfort with the jewelry, we attempted to andonize it because titanium will change colors. The jewelry Ted put in bubbled in the andonizer, indicating that it was not titanium and was surgical steel. I am extremely displeased with my experience and being lied to by your professional piercer. Had I not changed out my jewelry I would have lost my piercing in addition to having to make a doctor's visit.Read Less
