I was sort of iffy about this place beforehand, because the reviews were so bad. But I went ahead and got a piercing here because of the low prices. It wasn't entirely symmetrical, but I don't mind it that much, honestly. It was only slightly off. The piercer (owner) was pretty nice, and they charge significantly less than most other places. I had an amazing experience here. First off, my tattoo idea was discussed with excited energy, and my appointment was made promptly, unlike other places where you have to book out months in advance. My artist was Mike Smith and he did an AMAZING job. His linework is incredible & his ideas that he incorporated with mine really made my tattoo, it's definitely my favorite one yet. I was not completely decided yet, but Manny was EXCEPTIONAL with helping me chose the right cover for an old tattoo. II appreciate his patience. I came here to get my nose pierced and to get snake eyes. My nose piercing is great fantastic I love it. My tongue when I got it was great. Note I understand the risk and everything of getting a tongue piercing. I Understood that I still wanted to get it. He Pierced it I loved it I understood my tongue was going to swell up. He didn’t give me a long Enough bar for the swelling. So when my tongue swelled up one of the saids went over the ball. I went back to see if he could gave me a longer bar. He said that it’ll come out and just ice it and Ibuprofen. I’ve been doing that i know it takes time to heal. But i still felt like it wasn’t right. I took a picture of my tongue and showed it to another piercer. She said that’s not normal and that’s what happens when it’s pierced wrong. I’m not coming back for him to fix it. I got a nose piercing here a couple months ago. The service was pretty quick, after I was done freaking out about getting it done. I read and signed a paper, picked out my nose ring, then went to get it done. The guy was really nice, and did a good job at how quickly it was done. I didn't feel much pain either, just a quick little pinch and some water came to my eye. I unfortunately ended up getting the bump on my nose like a good number of people, after about a month. I visited Romantic Torture based on a recommendation from an employee at Piercing Pagoda. I was at the mall and stopped by the piercing pagoda kiosk wanting to get my nose pierced. The associate suggested I go to Romantic Torture as that is where she got hers done. Hers looked great. She said they would be able to pierce with a needle and since there is less of a risk of having it get infected. Another plus was the price. Piercing Pagoda wanted $50 vs Romantic Torture was $16. I called them ahead of time and the price was confirmed.   The guys at the shop were down to earth and super nice. The gentleman that pierced my nose was a gentleman.  Patient and took the time to explain everything. Very professional. I came back two days later and my cousin and daughter also got their nose pierced. We all received consistent and good service. A friend of mine went here for the type of piercing that I've wanted for awhile.  She highly recommended due to their low prices.  Of course I was skeptical of the not so good reviews, but I took the chance.. How bad could a simple piercing be? As I walked through the door I became a little anxious. Don't go for pericing because they don't fellow proper sanitary procedures.... for example I took my lady there to get a tongue pericing for like the third time and they just stick the rod through without rinseing your mouth out with mouth wash like normal and days later a bubble forms on your tongue because it wasn't done properly and you have to go to a real artist who explains to you why this happens other than that they do some great tattoos the manager was nice about when she called and told him but still that bad for businessRead Less

Romantic torture is aptly named for it IS torture however there's nothing romantic about it. I've had my tragus piercing for almost 6 years now and I went to get the earring changed to try something different. Despite the fact that they didn't have the hoop I wanted nor a huge selection of jewelry, I decided on one. The girl who helped me didn't bother to REALLY help me, she just stood there silently and begrudgingly and let me choose on myown, not that I can't but I'm also not a piercer so I don't necessarily know what gauge is in my ear. I went back and got the earring changed but had to wonder why it was so painful to have it changed, seeing as I had done it before and the piercing was completely healed. The next two days I was popping Ibuprofen and concerned as to why the dang thing was bleeding and so swollen. I finally decided to go to a different tattoo place and see if I could get a different ring thinking maybe it's just a heavier ring or something and I need a different one. When I go the other place,  Rock n' Roll tattoo and Piercing (which is awesome by the way, with friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff) they told me that instead of the 16 gauge which was originally in my ear I had a 14 gauge SHOVED through my ear which basically made it react like a new piercing causing, all the pain and the swelling. I will NEVER EVER return to romantic torture tattoo and piercing because it's literally NOT WORTH your money and they have NO idea what they're doing. They're rather rude and not helpful and clearly I didn't get my money's worth because I paid for a new earring and then had to go and get another one for my trouble. If you care about your piercings and you care about getting your money's worth do not go here, go to Rock 'N' Roll  tattoo and piercing. They are the best! Ask for Lee! Read Less

Took my friend here for their tongue piercings. This was the only place we can find that would do horizontal piercings. We found that weird at first but didn't think too much of it due to excitement. My friend got scared and the guy seemed to get frustrated. When done it seemed he couldn't hold his giggles of my friends fear until we left. This past Friday I visited the shop with interest in getting a tongue piercing and a snake eyes tongue piercing. I paid for both piercings before the service. Tim did both my piercings and did not inform me that I did not have the correctly shaped tounge for this type of piercing (which I found out Monday when I had to have the piercing removed at another shop), When the other shop was removing the jewelry, they had to use pliers to remove the ball. The only aftercare instruction I received from Tim "no oral sex for 3 weeks". If you are going to have a no refund policy, then you should ensure your customers quality service instead of ripping them off and doing work you know is shotty at best. Honestly ive always been picky about who i let see/touch my body because you only have one you should be.... BUT Tim the guy who does piercings is without a doubt the best. Clean, polite, professional, funny. I got both my piercings by myself and he made me feel so comfortable. Talked about after care, reminded me to breathe. I got my snake eyes of my tongue which swelled for over two weeks .. The shop did not have mouth wash before or after which increases rate of infection...just went to another tatoo shop to change my barbell to a longer one since the one I had was migrating and sinking into my tongue. My original intension of visiting romantic torture was to get a triple forward helix. Walking in my friend and I talked to a guy at the front and asked him about whether or not we would be able to receive a double or a triple due to the sizes of our ears. He went to the back and got the piercer who said we would need to look at it. We asked if we would be able to look at the positioning of the marks before deciding whether or not we would be doing the double or triple. He replied smugly with "yeah after you pay and fill out your paperwork". I felt it was odd to pay for a piercing before receiving it and made a remark about that to my friend. I was utterly shocked when I heard the man and woman at the front desk who worked there mock me mentioning "well of course you pay before you get the piercing"...actually I have had other piercings and I never pay before receiving the service. When I was back in the room with the piercer I was very curious in regards to the positioning of the bars (which are too big). No matter the question, the piercer was very frustrated with me and did not thoroughly answer my questions. I ended up receiving a double helix and he mentioned "no refunds". So basically he was saying I had to get another piercing or I would not get that money back. He did not go over care instructions so I would hate for someone inexperienced to receive a piercing here. I felt rushed to leave right after the piercing and he did not say much to my friend and I before we left. I do not recommend this shop to anyone...not even my worst enemy. Read Less

Ok so i by no means want to ever be considered a basher, but i had a very negative experience here. First off i found them to be over priced. A girl walks in says how much would you price this piece at the tattooist says $300 she said 65$ he made some bullshit excuse to cover. Any how i made a design an a tattooist gave me a price and i come in an she changed my price with no notification an still expected me to pay.  I rescheduled. She blew me off 3X before I got it done.  My design i made was great i asked her to add some bling to it but keep the design. She did a excellent job with that. I asked for a copy of it an she said no because if some bullshit copyright thing.  So how dose that work if i made the design again. So i though i was getting a  good deal and reasonable priced. The customer service wasn't worth it. She messed up on my design an blew me off again an again till the last moment to get it. She always claimed to be sick. If your sick why are you at work. Any how more bulllshit excuses. Then she's like i dont want to fix it because im so new an ill have the boss fix it for you.  You think it would be free because she fucked it up. Nope he charged me for a fuking small ass thing no bigger then a quarter $65 an says he should have changed me $100. Also to note i gave her a extra $50 that she does not ern. So in conclusion I say customers be ware overpriced an inexperienced people work here. I add on a positive note the art is amazing an there is talent, but is it worth a permanent fucked up tattoo? If I could give this place half a star, I would. Multiple piercings were done incorrectly and hence got infected. The one small tattoo I got on my wrist also got infected. The lines are uneven and it's not anything near what I asked the guy to do..I think his name was Christian. Absolutely the worst place you could go to get any tattoo or piercing. If you're thinking about going here to get anything done you're better off flushing your money down the toilet because you will most likely get an infection and regret ever walking through that door. There is nothing romantic about the torture they put their customers through. Every other tattoo place in the area has tattoo and piercing nightmare stories coming from romantic torture. I went to this shop to get a simple piercing done, it's located across from my job so I thought if try it out. I checked some reviews and there were some really great ones, but there were a few bad as well. I decided to go with the good ones and got my piercing done there. That was a mistake, the piercer was extremely rude and seemed like he could not care less about my business. He never asked if i liked the position of my piercing and After my piercing was done he told me nothing about the care for it. It was like he wanted me out of his shop ASAP. Thank god for google and YouTube because I might have been stuck with an infection. The only positive about this shop was the price and I found another place offering the same services for the same prices and they were kind and patient with me. If you're thinking of going here and you don't care about how you're treated than this is the place to go. I got my belly button pierced at Romantic Torture in December 2011, and they were so nice, I was pierced by a girl, I don't remember her name but she works(ed) at Warlocks too. That time was nice, everything was nice. I wanted my nose pierced a few months back, and I went to RT, bc they were good last time and it was cheap. This time wasn't anything like last time, there were two guys at the desk, and they were helping this Indian couple find a tattoo on the internet, they didn't even greet us for one. We stood there for a good 7 minutes before anyone asked us "what can I help you with?" I said "I would like to get my nose pierced" and they said "ok" then went back to their conversation. That made me upset, then I stood there for another 10 minutes while they continued to ignore my presence. Suddenly a group of young white girls walk in, they loom about 16, and the two guys ignoring me, turn into the nicest people when this group walked in, they got a greeting and everything.
