Love the work i had done here, at a very reasonable price in my opinion. However my second trip was much different! The professionalism was horrible...had an artist tell me he could compete a piece for me all for him to renig on the deal as if he'd never spoken or dealt with me. I was so nervous. The guy that did my tattoo his name is Noah and he had me laughing putting me at ease. I love my tattoo. He did a great job. I wish he would have wrote down how to take care of my tattoo. I called back to confirm what he said and a different person said take the hottest shower I can stand.I had two people with me. My tattoo artist was Kyle and he was really nice & accomodating from the moment I walked in to when I walked out. We honestly had a mini therapy session it seemed while he tattooed my small wrist tattoo and it didn't feel weird at all being that we were complete strangers. Backstory: I have approximately size 32I or 30J breasts. I tried to get my nipples pierced when I was 18, but sadly they rejected in less than 4 months. The piercer told me that the weight of my boobs, and the resulting pressure of my boobs against a bra was placing excessive pressure on the piercings and led to my body rejecting them. I am 23 years old now, and one day I am bored and I get the urge to get the piercing I had been reconsidering and researching for a few months. I wanted them done again, maybe I was just a dumb kid back then and didn't take care of them properly. I figured if they rejected this time then it wasn't meant to be.So I started researching reputable places and reviews and decided to give this place a try. Even though it was a Sunday without an appointment, the wait was brief (less than 30 minutes). Lee scared me at first when he explained he prefers freehand, but it was probably the most painless piercing I've ever had. I remember the first time I got my nipples pierced, I was dizzy standing up because it did hurt a little bit, but Lee was gentle and fast.Fastforward almost 6 months: My nipple piercing healed in about 2 months. It wasn't that my boobs were too big, the secret is that Lee CLEARLY knows exactly what  he is doing. I will be returning to get my other nipple done and my belly button pierced (the only other piercing that rejected when I was young). I refuse to go to anyone else while I'm in North Carolina. I would not recommend going to get a tattoo after normal business hrs. I got off work and went to get a cancer ribbon tat to represent for my father. He has surgery in a week. I called at 1230am to see if I could stop by. The guy that answered the phone was so rude and said it was getting late. They close at 2am. I told him if they were ready to go home then I wouldn't even come.  Poor customer service off the gate. I get there and there is one tattoo artist. He isn't even on the website so now I'm questioning if he was even qualified. I showed him the words and cancer ribbon I wanted. He made a stencil and it looked cute and simple. He said he could do some shading and make it look nice.......Ok it's horrible!!!The letters are NOT like the stencil. I went back to talk to the owner and show him the next day. He made every excuse for this guy he could and said it looked good. I Regret ever going back to rock n roll. My coverup tat from last year was amazing. I am really sad that this one did not turn out as amazing as my last. When it heals I am going somewhere else and have a "professional" fix it. Went to Rock N' Roll on Valentine's Day for a couple of piercings and it was a great experience. The guy who did my piercing was Lee, who is very professional and friendly. Not overly chatty, which can make people even more nervous- he talks just enough to distract you and it's over before you know it. I called ahead and was told an appointment was not necessary but I did have to wait around about 25 minutes. Between it being a Saturday and a holiday, they were busy and getting busier still as evening fell. I took off one star solely bc of some front-desk disorganization (they actually served the girl who walked in behind me first, but we're talking MAYBE an extra 10 minute wait) & because I think they should post the piercing schedule on their website. Last night, on a some what random--but long time coming--whim I got a piercing. I'd always wanted it but I am terrified of needles. Originally we go to the new location on Glennwood (which has 50% off tats, with a base fee of $50) talked to Remi for a bit--very nice, cool dude, then we headed over to the Capital location because the piercer is there.My friend got pierced by Fred, but Lee was working. Lee looks like your standard tattoo/piercer cool dude but he's even cooler once he talks because he's laid back, it makes YOU chill a little bit--yet professional, which, we all really want as the same time! He was patient and calm which positively affected me and in turn i began to calm down. From all accounts--this piercing was supposed to be significantly painfully. I kid you not: it felt like a pinch and it was over! I want to attribute that all to Lee because any website or person you ask will say it hurts but he was quick, calm and precise! Location: if you are coming from 440 you'll pass it on the left and make a u turn at the light.Cleanliness: good general sanitizing practices used considering the establishmentCustomer service: Good! First, Id like to say the establishment is very clean but that's about the only good thing!! My sister and me went into get her first, tattoo (she was visiting fro NJ). NOAH ALLMON was the artist, or fraud that they brought to us. He was not friendly at all!! We tried having a conversation with him and he totally ignored us. Instead he put on music and the first song he played was pussy control... ummm wow such a gentleman I bet he never gets laid!! But regardless he started talking to us about doing hot rails of crystal meth .. It was so uncomfortable.. To top it off he  messed up one of the words it was suppose to be " but" instead he spelt "out"  so now my poor sister and her first tattoo that was super sentimental to her is walking around with a crooked arm band  with a word spelt wrong. Luckily they have real Artists up north and she will have her word fixed. It was a horrible experience and she still tipped the guy $50 .. Awesome shop. It's a bit on the divey side, but not in a "oh god, will I get hep C from this place" type of way. Staff is chill and answer any questions. The tracers are great and really try to capture what you're looking for. The artists are awesome and great at what they do. Their portfolios are all pretty impressive. Whether you want some custom piece, or one of the flash pieces, they never seemed annoyed at your choice, where some places, the artists seemed annoyed to be doing yet another butterfly, fairy, flower, etc. Definitely happy to have found this shop down here and can't wait to get more work done. this is Bynum Bass, the piercer at Rock n roll. first off, i am truly sorry you got an infection. however i can absolutely say that the infection itself did NOT come from my piercing, this is why. when you called us on sunday to ask to come in, you stated that your GUMS hurt and were a little soar, you did not say anything about puss or extreme pain. you went to eternal Ink in wake forest and saw reberta, i am very good friends with her, so i called her, she also told me when you saw her, you did not have ANYTHING wrong with the piercing, BUT you had a infection in your gums! NOT YOUR tongue. and the medication you are on is for a FUNGAL INFECTION IN YOUR GUMS! your tongue piercing was completely fine. a fungal infection is caused by dirty things in your mouth. not from a piercing. I went saturday night to get my tounge done well it was 2 days latter I called them to let them no I needed to come in and them look at it well I got told there was going to be nothing they could do before 3-5 days well I called another tattoo shop and went to them so they could look at it for me well I been at the ER tonight with a bad infection in my gums and my tounge so now I am on 2 diffreant meds for this I would not recommend Rock & Roll to anyone.... so ive been wanted to get a tattoo for a very long time and for being my first tattoo n for being clueness im not happy at all w the tattoo n i guess thats my fault but at the same time isnt the artist job to help u n give u some feed back?? i just got it done like 3days ago i went to the shop as a walkin the guy was very rude and with a pissed off face but i still smiled and was nice. i went with a pic n i explained wat i wanted but i guess i was to anxious n to nervous that i just went along with wat he said. he took the pic took like an hr to draw it and when he showed me wat he drew it came out ok but i thought it was to small n he charged me 120 n he said if i wanted it larger it would of been more. well he placed the tattoo on my hip n like i said i did like it but i dunno i guess bc i wanted it so bad i just didnt compare my pic with wat he drew. he told me to lay down n he started. it hurt like a b*tch and after he was done i dunno i just didnt feel like he took his time w it. my bf wasnt around to give me his opion about the price and the picture he showed up when he was done when he saw it n saw how much they charged me he was pissed. now that i look at it i see that the lines are even straight its all messed up the part where its suppose to be colors they arent even all filled and to make it worse when i got home and saw the pic that i gave him which was in my computer it wasnt the same to wat he drew. =( i was so disapointed and now thats all done i realize wat i did wrong but at the same time it sucks bc as artitst they are suppose to enjoy wat they do and not rush it. when he was done w it i didnt say anyhting i dont know why i kept my mouth shut i guess cuz thats how i am lol not tryin to say this shop is bad but i guess to make ppl realize that u have to really becareful wat tatto shop u go to but al that matter. now i have to go to another shop and pay double so they can fix what he did =( but its all good Read Less

Being a small business owner myself, if you had a ""bad"" experience, I would think you would talk to the artist first instead of jumping online and trashing the place. I've had a few rather large and involved tattoo's completed by Rob and LOVE the work! One is an orig 40's pinup I brought in which he added a bit to really bring the piece out.. the other was a wedding photo of my Mother and Father from 1952 which he did FANTASTIC! NAILED IT! From the expression on Dad's face to the sepia tones from the orig picture... NAILED! As previously stated, the atmosphere is relaxed, no pressure to get ANYTHING done and the prices are comparable if not less than MOST shops in town (without lowering the ""quality"" of the work).
