This place gets a 5+ stars!!! I can't say enough about these guys!!! From the time I walked in for a consult with Zap on a cover up til the minute I walked out...it was awesome!!! Zap took the time to help me find the design I wanted, tweaked it to look even better, and cut no corners. Definitely going back for more work!!! Pat and Zapp are the best....I was in North Carolina for a work trip and had two days off with nothing to do, perfect time for a tattoo I thought. I started messaging Pat, the owner, on Facebook and he immediately got back to me with his thoughts on my design and placement of the tattoo I wanted to get. We set up an appointment for the next day, no questions asked, boom. I walked up to the front door and there were five guys standing outside the shop hanging out and talkin...g, as I tried to walk in Pat immediately introduced himself and the others and we all began to chat. It was obvious to me that this wasn't just a run of the mill tattoo shop but a community of sorts, a place where the "weirdos" can hang out and feel at home, I immediately hit it off with all five of the guys outside. Zapp was the one who tattooed me, he worked with me on re-sizing my design as my arm was much skinnier than he had expected, but again this was no problem. The actual experience of getting the tattoo was a pleasure, they played great music we had a few laughs along with some solid conversation, I couldn't have asked for more. The tattoo itself was a rendition of this devil from an old Italian painting "The Hell, Fresco", and I believe there is some painter rolling around in his grave right now because I like the tattoo Zapp did on me much more than I like the painting, and I love the painting. Anyway, the work was great, the people were great, the shop was great.....so much so that today I started messaging Pat about how I wanted to go back and get a second tattoo. He was down and I began trying to find a ride down to the shop. Needless to say I failed at finding a ride and thought I wasn't going to be able to be tattooed again. I texted Pat about this and you know what he did, he offered to pick me up and drive me down to his shop and I accepted....I recommend anyone check this shop out just for the sheer hospitality of the two guys working there, but I also promise the work follows suit, truly one of the best experiences of getting tattooed I've ever had, five stars across the board! My family & I get together once a year for a family vacation. We usually get a tattoo on vacation together as well. I just got my first tattoo from Zap. He was professional, friendly, and easy going. I felt like I was in good hands and so did my family. We each got a small tattoo in honor of my Grandma's 80th birthday and he was very accommodating and did them all his self back to back. Quick but high quality work. My first simple tattoos turned out very well and I was appreciative however I will not be going back to Zap for any tattoos. Our personalities clash hard. And I personally feel that you need to have a good relationship with whoever is going to do you're big piece. So just go meet him for yourself. Sorry zap. It Is what it is. Also for what I got I thought the charge was a bit pricey. But maybe I don't now since I'm not really up on the tattoo world etiquette. Like I said I... chose to go to Zap for my very first tattoo.. and although I didn't regret getting my first tattoos, even with him I soon came to regret it and won't be letting him or probably anyone else there at that place do anything for me because I never want to see that jerk again. Patrick was awesome!! Im always nervous to let somebody work on me but the people there were great! They are kid friendly..I brought my 8 year old daughter with me because she wanted to watch and she asked some questions about tattoos and Patrick explained things to her. Very disappointed. Tried to get a simple ear piercing and was told they didn't do tragus piercing because peircing artist fingers were too "fat". When shown the piercing list it listed cartilage which is what I requested the guy stared at me like I was an idiot and simply laughed and said "goodbye". Got a strawberry plant on my arm a while ago and it is still beautiful. Pat was very nice and is a very talented artist. Very professional, clean environment. They play good, chill music (which is a must for me when I'm getting a tattoo). The staff that I met have great personalities. Overall, just a wonderful experience. I went in to get a tattoo priced and the man that gave me my price was rude, he didn't listen to what I had to say and he didn't even talk with me. He didn't explain anything to me, he just told me the price and said it wouldn't be as "crappy" as the picture. I will NEVER spend my money here. Not with that service. Read Less
