Absolutely love Jason and Russell, they do amazing work, view askew is the only place I will get my tattoos. However the only downfall is that they are not open more than 2 days a week which is really inconvenient. Other than that I really do love their work, it's a calm friendly and easily relaxed place to be, I was nervous to get my back piece but Russell held a normal conversation and kept me distracted which was great. I went in last night for a daith piercing and to be honest I'm a huge baby when it comes to needles. I have never been so comfortable and relaxed to where I barely felt the needle. These guys are amazing and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a piercing! Read Less

My cousin & I went in to get our nose pierced. When we walked in the guy was busy doing a tattoo so we were told to be back at 5. We made it back at 4:50 PM. There were two young girls that came in after us. They were acknowledged and helped. Well what's more exciting piercing some young pretty girls nipples or a couple of noses LOL. Getting the appointment was easy, which is nice since they get booked very quickly, the planning couldn't be easier, and Jason is a quick setup. If you want a quick yet extremely detailed work of art from an experienced and professional artist, Jason is the man to do it. They have been around for as long as most can remember, and with work like I received today, they aren't going away any time soon. The quality of the work is fantastic. What they lack is customer support. I moved away and was going to make a special visit to Lexington just to have some more work done (I'm loyal to my artist, and never switch unless something comes up), and they had previously done all of my tattoos (over $850 in work at the time). They wouldn't answer the phone for me to make an appointment, as they have a policy to just "come in" and set your appointment. Sorry, I'm not driving an hour to drive to Lexington hoping who I want is available to make an appointment with me for a 4 hour session just so I can drive another hour back home and then do it again when it's time to get my ink. I was friends with the owner on Facebook (like I said, he's done multiple sessions on me). I messaged him and told him my situation. He saw my messages because Facebook told me, and he never even attempted to respond to help me set an appointment. This was odd, since the owner and I, to what I thought, had an incredibly friendly relationship prior whenever I saw him. This seems to be the case with this shop based on their reviews. I will never, ever recommend View Askew Tattoo to another human being. If they go out of business tomorrow, in my opinion, it will be far, far too late. I had ten tattoos upon my visit there recently, and was looking for number eleven. Eight of the tattoos I had were done by either Jason or Russell, and I have never had a single complaint about their work. In fact, even in my long absence, I have continued to recommend them as one of the best in the biz. Boy do I regret that now. They knew who I was when I walked in, but the greeting I received was not what I'd expected. Two other men came in same time as me, and they were greeted with enthusiasm and scheduled for a wall-stencil tattoo immediately. I, however, was told they'd get back to me by week's end, and since my tattoo was a custom design, I was willing to accept the wait. BUT they never called, and that was very nearly a month ago. I checked in at the two week mark and had to again resubmit my information on my design AND give them my number AND hear the same empty promise that they'd get back to me by week's end. I called twice the following week and no one returned my call. No, I would never recommend this sort of experience to anyone, friend or otherwise. This treatment is ridiculous though from what I've come to hear after the fact, I am not the only returning customer who has been snubbed. My suggestion to View Askew is that they step up their customer service because you can't run a business if you're going to treat your customers like crap. Do NOT go to View Askew if you're looking for treatment. Knowing them the way I used to, I feel weird even saying that, because these used to be two great guys. I don't know what happened but they're not the two artists I remember. I went elsewhere for my ink and got my difficult custom same day. I recently went to View Askew Tattoo to get a tattoo because I kept hearing how great their work was. I was very unimpressed. For starters, the scheduling was difficult; they claimed they couldn't do the tattoo for almost a week, but were just sitting around not doing anything when I walked in and when I left. I got the strong impression that they were trying to appear as though they were busy and booked when really they were not. When I went in to get the tattoo, I felt like I was rushed in and out and charged an EXORBITANT amount for the small butterfly that I got. He told me that the price was set by the hour, but he took numerous smoking breaks while he was tattooing me and counted this in the time I was paying for! I've shown the butterfly to several other shops in Winston-Salem and Greensboro and told them what I paid for it and I have literally been laughed at for paying so much for such a small poor quality tattoo. I'm really disappointed because everyone had told me how great View Askew was and my experience was the complete opposite. Read Less

A few of my friends and i came to lexington looking to have some tattoos done and ended up at view askew. the staff was doing nothing at the time we walked in . after telling them what i wanted they told me it would be a WEEK!! before they could do my tattoo that would end up taking them twenty minutes to do! So after more than a week i go and pay a inflated price for my tattoo only to my disappointment it had faded so badly in under a month that i had another tattoo shop in lexington to fix it for me. i would not tell anyone i know to go to view askew for anything!!! take warning if you plan to go there!!!
