The Wicked Parrott Tattoo shop is the got to tattoo parlor for us Colington Harbour Kill Devil Hills NC residence. They have several tattoo artist who are all great. They have books and books of tattoos you can choose from, tattoos all over walls to choose from, and most best thing is that they will customize any tattoo you desire. We spend a couple weeks in Manteo each year and I heard about Wicked Parrot from many locals and read their excellent reviews. The shop was extremely clean and very modern. All of the staff and artists were not only very gifted, but were just all-around awesome people. Dani Demo took my drawings and really created two unbelievably beautiful and creative tattoos. My 9th and 10th that Dani gave me may now be my favorites.  I would highly recommend getting new or touch up tattoos in their shop. My father, two brothers and I all went in for a tattoo. My one brother and I saw AJ and my dad and other brother saw Derek. Both are awesome at what they do and did exactly as we planned. I along with my brothers and father could not have been happier with our tattoos. This was my fourth tattoo and haven't had an experience like this. Honestly one of the best experiences I've ever had at a tattoo parlor. They were all super chill and friendly. The nose piercing I got was incredibly sanitary; every instrument was pre wrapped and he changed his gloves between marking and piercing. A really amazing place. Read Less

I had an excellent experience overall at Wicked Tattoo.  Everyone was as accommodating as they could possibly be.  There was a small glitch in that I scheduled my appt with artist AJ (who came highly recommended by a friend) a month or so prior to my appointment.  When it came time for my appt., I realized I had been shifted to Dani's schedule.  I completely understand that on busy days the schedule may be shifted around.  In my case, that did not work for me since I had requested AJ when I made my appt.  Unfortunately, Dani was not very happy when I decided to reschedule with AJ on the next day.  I am sure Dani is an excellent artist, although I just felt more comfortable with the artist my friend recommended.  I had nothing to do with this confusion or shift in scheduling; this was an internal situation.  Dani had a negative attitude which was misdirected to the customer.  GREAT news is that everything worked out in the end.  AJ did an excellent job.  I would highly recommend Wicked Parrot.  Only advice is that if you want a specific artist, insist upon it when you make your appt. to avoid any complications. This was my best tattoo experience so far! It's only my second one but the staff was so friendly and greeted my wife and me as soon as we walked through the door. On a spur of a moment trip I decided to get a triple middle cartilage piercing. We were down at kitty hawk ad this was the only studio. Reviews on tattoos looked good so I figured why not go and check it out. Walking in it was packed with like 5 cougars getting tats. So I waited and told the receptionist I wanted a piercing and she sent me to see the piercer Keebler. I showed him what I wanted and was a little taken back by his response of, that's it? Like I'm sorry, I don't want any super crazy piercing but hey bud, it's business don't be rude. He quoted me $100 for all 3 and I thought I was a little steep but giving the location we were in I got it. Being impatient I went for it. In the room Keebler was more personable and friendly, basically non douchey so I enjoyed it more. Got it down quick and as painless as getting 3 piercings at once can be. This place was amazing! First off the people are some of the most kind and helpful people I have ever met!  This was my first tattoo and Chris was my artist.  They were all very willing to work with me and make sure that my tattoo was exactly how I liked it.  Chris was fantastic, I could tell he was passionate about his work and he didn't laugh at me or make me feel stupid when I asked tons of question.  I would recommend this place to anyone!  I live about 2 hours away but  if I ever wanted another tattoo, The Wicked Parrot would surely be worth the drive. :) Read Less

I really wish I could give this a better review because the people are so very nice and incredibly kind. They drew and re-drew my design until I was happy with it.I came in to get a fairly simple forearm piece. Brent was a great person to talk to during the tattooing, but when I got back to my hotel, I started to notice the lines were shaky, the shading was inconsistent, and it wasn't symmetrical. I don't know what happened and I really wish I didn't have to say this, but it looks like an amateur sketched something out and said, "Well, good enough."Like I said, I really wish I didn't have to give this review because everyone there is so nice, but I'm going to have to get major work done to touch this up because there is no way I can have this on my arm the way it is for the rest of my life.Sorry, guys :( Read Less

I found out about Wicked Parrot and stopped in to see if I could talk to anyone about the "Bertha" (from Grateful Dead) tattoo that I have been wanting.
