Came in to get my father in law and grandma in law a tattoo on Saturday as a walk in. They advertise the place as closed at midnight, we called and said they close at 11. Walked in and turned us away, and it's only 955, and said he was doing his last tattoo of the night. Walked to our vehicles and the girl he was tattooing was already done and paying. Heard they were good, but never will come here again.

I honestly heard good things about this place. Went on a Sunday as a walk in, expected a wait, but not a 3.5 hour wait. The tat before me, there were numerous smoke breaks and interruptions. As for mine, something simple. An outline of a word with a couple small outlines symbols, something a rookie could do with ease. My artist was noticeably stoned off his butt while doing my stomach tattoo, was on the phone with I'm assuming his wife for 90% of my tattoo, took numerous breaks and seemed to run around aimlessly, as well as the fact he was falling asleep while tattooing me. With that being said, my tattoo just looks, for lack of a better word, fucked up. I'm actually pretty upset with how it came out but didn't realize at the time that lines were bolder than others, lines were missed, and it just over all looks like ass. A $300 piece of ass tattoo. My buddy got a tattoo at Blind Stag and loved it. I'd recommend going anywhere but here.

Great staff! Very friendly, ALL of the artist are very talented whether you are looking for solid lines, black and grey, or color which is my personal favorite as far as my own tattoos go. I've been inked by several other shops/artist and their work wasn't bad by any means but Madd Tatter sets the standard for a great tattoo. They are very reasonably priced and always make it a very unique personal experience. The music is always rockin and the entire setting and decor of the shop is absolutely wicked!!! I would definitely recommend checking it out if you are looking to get some great artistry work put on ur skin. Josh does my favorite work. and

I've gotten six tattoos over the years from Josh Murphy of Madd Tatter Tattoo of Jacksonville and his work is impeccable! We live in Tennessee and my wife and I both get tattoos when we vacation at Camp Lejeune. As long as I'm able to vacation there, I'll always get a new tattoo or four. Josh is a great artist and person. As long as he's tattooing, I'll always get new ink when I'm in town. I HIGHLY recommend them!!

Only place Id honestly come to or go for a tattoo and only place Id refer for a tattoo.

Very displeased the tattoo looks nothing like the picture I showed, yet it was copied. The stars are covered up the artist who started it was fired. The owner said he properly finish and fix it but it looks more like shit and I am expected to tip him though I paid $900.00 up front and a $100.00 tip to the fired artist. So for $1000.00 dollars I end up with shit work. Now I have to travel two hours to a more experienced artist fork out more money to have it properly fixed. So pissed off right now!! By the way...ITS STILL NOT FINISHED!!

I got my first tattoo done last night and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I was extremely nervous but they took great care of me. My mom and I got matching tattoos and they had us in and out in two hours! The work was done beautifully. I ended up loving 10 times more than I initially thought I would. I will definitely be returning.

Great vibes. Great people. And great work. Nothing more to say other than I'll be coming back. They do so much work and they are passionate about art. AND he know exactly about how to tattoo on darker skin and what colors he needs of its more than line work that needs to be done. He doesn't even charge an arm or leg for his work either. And works in what ever price range you can do. I've never been to such an amazing shop with amazing people.

Went yesterday to see Chris to get my wolf tattoo done. After about 4 1/2 - hours later we got done. It was a tedious design to say the least but it was well worth how long it was and the pain towards the end. I would recommend not only Chris but madd tatter to anyone I know. I got my first tattoo done last night and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I was extremely nervous but they took great care of me.
