I had a large arm piece done by Laura back in October 2017 and was incredibly impressed by her talent and table-side manner. I emailed her a number of references for the tattoo I wanted, with very little idea of how it would all work together into a cohesive piece. She did a phenomenal job putting together the piece and was able to tweak a few things at my request the day of my appointment. I'm going back and hopefully having my sleeve completed by her in the next few weeks and cannot recommend her or Little Johns highly enough. I've also been tattooed by Gabe and pierced by Tuna, but who are great at their craft. When i came in they were not particularly inviting or friendly. I was a walk-in, came with a sketch of my idea which was a lotus flower with a quote under it. My idea was shot down, this was wrong, that was facing the wrong way, and this wouldn’t do xyz. It wasn’t the fact that my idea was shot down that i left upset it was the fact that no one seemed willing to help or give any advice. i felt judged and looked down upon. Very disappointing experience. Not a recommended place for people new to tattoos. Not to mention i’ve seen tattoos similar to the one i wanted in a similar spot... My friend took me there a couple weeks ago to get a quote for a tattoo for my birthday. It was a cover-up that I've been meaning to get for a while and I drew something out to cover it. Chris, my tattoo artist was very honest with me and told me it would not work. He kept the idea of the tattoo and made it his own. The day of my appointment he free-handed it on my skin right before getting to work. The concept of what I wanted was the same but it turned into something even better than I could have imagined. I ventured to Little John's to get my first cartilage piercing in my ear. I already have my first, second, and third holes done; however, I got them done with a piercing gun and after researching I decided that any other piercings I get should be done with a needle, especially cartilage. I was in and out in 15 minutes; the receptionist was friendly and super helpful which was awesome because I was a little nervous. Everything was clean and they explained the process to me step-by-step including aftercare. I am from Texas, but I always get my tattoos when I come home to NC. I went to Little Johns on 8.2.17 to get a nose piercing after researching for about 2 months on where to go in the area. This shop is spacious, neat and clean. It has a nice waiting area with two comfortable couches. By far the best looking tattoo shop I've been in. Topher greeted me when I walked in and he also did my piercing. The piercing was done in a private room. He was very professional and patient with me as I was nervous. He explained everything before he did it and he also waited for me to take a deep breath before we began. What can I say, I'm a baby.  He was quick and did a great job. I was in and out in about 15 min. I loved my experience so much I went the following day (today) to get a three small tattoos. Everyone was was kind and helpful. I am extremely disappointed with the service I was given here the only 2 times I have ever dealt with them. The first time I went in, I was looking for 2 new earrings so that all my earring would match. I got a flat back for my helix and a curved barbell for my daith. While picking my jewelry, the piercer made fun of me and my friend for not knowing the lengths of them. Then as he was putting in my new earrings, he cussed the entire time and couldn't get them put in well or easily. I paid and left.Yesterday I was out with a friend and the ball fell off of my daith ring and the piercing itself came out. When I called to complain about this, she said I could come in to have them replaced but I do not live in Greensboro where the store is. She told me to go get a new earring at a different tattoo shop. When I asked for a refund she said they don't do that. Even though their piercer put the earring in, incorrectly. The manager was not available. I will be calling back and now I'm out $30 because my other earring did the exact same thing, which I also had to have replaced. Read Less

The guy that was at the front is a complete idiot. My wife went to see how long she had to wait to change her tongue piercing and the guy told her she had to wait a MINIMUM of 2 MONTHS. I went there today 4/30/2017 to get my nipples pierced. The staff was very helpful and kind nice clean atmosphere. The artist that did my piercings explain the whole procedure, gave me advice on how to care for my piercings, was easy to talk to and kept me at ease. They were excellent. They treated my 11 yr old daughter with tender care. They did not sugar coat how it would feel to piece her ears. My girl who has a lot anxiety did beautifully. I came here with my girlfriend, aunt and her cousin because clearly he wanted a tattoo. From the moment we walked in the heavyset woman at the front desk had a attitude problem. She was pretty short and seemed like she had better things to do. The tattooists however seem very personable and knowledgeable about their craft. We came to the conclusion that she is racist. It's the only knowledgeable explanation one could come up with after noticing how she interacted with people who have white skin as she does. Just for a reference I am black and they are of Spanish decent. I'm not sure if she is always like that or maybe just having an off day but if you're the first contact of any establishment you may want to work on your customer service/interpersonal skills. Had been talking with a friend for a few months about getting at tattoo together while I was in town. After eating dinner and realizing we were running out of time to get one together because I was catching a flight the next day, we jumped on Yelp to find somewhere to get inked together. It being a 10 o'clock on a Thursday night, we didn't exactly have a plethora of options available. Little John's Tattoo jumped out at us though. My friend said that she had heard of them before and thought that they did good work. Having on decided on a place, we set out. Walking into the shop, it was a bit dead, probably due to when it was. However, even with it being dead, the two people in the main lobby area were extremely friendly. We chatted for a moment about what we were there for, we got down to business. We split up and talked to separate people about what we were wanting. After a bit of talking about sizing and other details, the respective tattooist got ready. Both of our tattoos started around the same time. My artist, Laura, was awesome. She was extremely professional and gladly, or it seemed that way, put up with me changing the position of the tattoo and then changing the design midway through. As she was tattooing me we were talking about whatever which was a pleasant change from the previous tattoos I've gotten when the artist didn't seem interested in chatting. After an hour or so, my friend was finished with her tattoo. Both her and her tattooist came over and chatted with Laura and I as she finished up my piece.I was extremely happy with the final product. Laura did a great job on my tattoo which was a bit tough due to me wanting it exactly right; it was two concentric circles with some more design inside. Laura did a great job on making the circles as perfect as she could. Overall the experience was fantastic. Little John's is a great shop with great artists. As a business owner myself of over 23 years, I am appalled that you can't give a customer who spent at the very least 100 dollars with you recently a estimate of a cost of a simple name tattoo ! I just got my septum pierced today, and I love it! it was my first major piercing (aside from the obvious ear piercings). Other reviews said that little john's tattoo had bad customer service but i didn't experience that at all. Tuna pierced me with no problem and he was super nice and helpful. they have the best selection of artists. a lot of shops are snobby and tell u they won't do this or that, or they're not interested in working with u cause of their large egos. not this shop, u can get any kind of tattoo you want. they will try to help u get what u want, and make artistic suggestions so you end up with a nice piece.the piercing department looks good too, even tho i'm more into tattoos i have heard good things about their piercers.some people say they are expensive, but u get what u pay for in my opinion. quality work. the prices are comparable to a larger city, and i think the work is better.good job guys.
