Came into the shop at 732 on a FRIDAY, they close at 8. Simply wanted to purchase a nose ring because I wanted to change mine. Before I could even ask about the nose ring jewelry the THREE employees told me they had closed out the sales book and couldn’t do anything for me. As an owner of a business; when a customer walks in you don’t just push them out. I get it they would like to go home, but don’t close out the sales book over 30 minutes before the doors actually close. The open sign was still on so I would’ve liked to be serviced. Won’t be back. Where to start... We talked to an artist back in Jan about getting a tattoo (all the details, size, number of people getting it, etc.) got a price and $20 deposit/ per person. When we went to book, the price per piece changed and the deposit went up to $50/per person (also said it would be 3+ hrs for a small 2" x 2" tattoo, I've had a few tattoos and for this size is absolutely ridiculous). When we went back to cancel, we were denied the return of our deposit (yes, it was printed on card, but artist never stated that deposit was not refundable.) Did not like that they changed the deposit amount & price of the tattoo changed and had no reasoning behind the change. Very rude to us and our family. Went and seen Wendi today to get my nipples pierced and was beyond nervous and she done an awesome job talking me threw it !! If you want as new tattoo experience this is the place to go! I have followed Sean Carey (owner) to every shop he has worked at and when he opened this shop I was blown away. This is an upscale no flash custom tattoo studio. If you have an idea the artist here will make magic for you, believe me you will not be disappointed! I recommend Sean for any style you want done but his specialty is Japanese. Shop is super clean, just different from any shop I've ever seen in person. I have been nervous my whole life to get my ears pierced and I finally got the courage to go get them done after reading amazing reviews of Golden Spiral. I am so glad I chose them. The shop was so clean and I love how each artist had their own "cubby" to work in privacy. The price was great too. I had Wendi and she was fantastic. I was extremely nervous and she made me feel totally at ease and made the procedure painless. She explained everything she was doing and answered my questions. I asked for a sea turtle, and showed them a picture. He told me he could do it, well it came out terrible. He did the whole background in pink! He also did my husband the same day and he wanted a frog with claws climbing his leg and he gave the frog red pom poms like a cheerleader? And messed up of the star of the Puerto Rican flag. Excellent tattoo shop. Highly recommend! The artists are great, the shop is clean, bright, and sterile. It is also a nice touch they have televisions in each booth that play movies. If you are getting a tattoo that takes hours (like I did) it is nice to be able to chill and watch a movie. I think this is the best place to get a tattoo in Greensboro if you want high quality work. Staff was pretty righteous and very pleasant to be around. The line work on my tattoo is very straight, nothing on it is crooked, and everything is as it should be. Even though my arm was a bit twitchy through some parts (my fault), Hugo (the amazing artist that tattooed me) never once got annoyed or forced me to sit still, and he still drew straight lines. I did a lot of research trying to find a good place to get tattoos in the future and came across this place. I am not from Greensboro, I moved here last summer so when I started hearing wonderful things about this place I knew this would be it. A friend and I went in yesterday to get peircings and Ron was wonderful! I went in with my mind set on getting my Septum pierced, but after examining my nose Ron said I just wasn't fit for it and explaind why. I was of course a little bummed, but he said for my nose, he simply wouldn't recomend it. And I really appreciated the fact that he told me the truth instead of just taking my money and giving me a crappy piercing. I ended up getting my tragus pierced instead and It went great!! That speaks for itself.Second, this place was excellent. This is coming from the standpoint of Mom, who took her daughter to get her belly button pierced with a fellow mom and daughter. I called ahead and checked pricing, and was given the proper information on piercing under the age of 18. Conveniently located downtown and easy to find, nicely set up, and not like most tattoo businesses, which I always find a bit skeezy. Not because they are a tattoo business but because of their employees. Tattoos or not, you can tell a lot by the professionalism, and Rob Bishop had it. He answered the million questions the girls asked and thoroughly went over the process very patiently. Everything was clean, pricing was affordable, and his personality was great! Love this studio! I had such a great experience here. From my initial contact on their website to working with my artist designing the perfect piece for me.This wasn't my first tattoo but was the first big piece, and an actual investment and first original art. I couldn't tell you that artist ( or apprentice?) who did my other tattoos so I guess that goes to show you what being 18 and having $100 will buy you. Almost 20 years later, and looking back at the realllly bad tattoos I got when I was younger, made me want to have something I was really proud of. A lot friends recommended Golden Spiral because of cleanliness and the incredible artists who work there. I wanted to work with Zach Crisp after seeing his portfolio online and was not disappointed. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I went in this past weekend for a consult with Zach, he quoted me a price of $800 which I was completely fine with. I have gotten several tattoos over the years in many states and have had a connection with all of my artists. This was the one that was simply not interested, provided no feedback, and basically could care less. No enthusiasm at all, after I asked him several times was everything okay or did he not want to do it, his level of interests was flat lined from the moment I walked in until the moment I decided to walk out. Perhaps it is just me, if someone was willing to spend $800 for a service I was providing not including a tip I would have been a bit more tuned in to the person being serviced. I will gladly take my $800 elsewhere to an artist that shows a bit more interest. And the sad thing is that he was completely fine with me walking out. Read Less
