How sad that I even have to give one star. After waiting five and a half weeks for my appointment, it was cancelled four and a half HOURS before the appointment by the owner/artist. When I responded to the message, my messenger shows the message was read almost immediately. There was no answer, no option given. No one answers the phone and my memorial tattoo for my deceased parents remains an idea. Thank you Jimmy for your lack of professionalism, especially when I find out from another artist that you hadn't even prepared the art.

I really wanted to be able to leave a better review because my tattoo was meant to symbolize such a significant day in my life. I called the morning of to see if there were openings for a very simple tattoo on my forearm. I was able to get in later that afternoon. My experience at the parlor was great. Everyone was friendly and it was clean. I initially was excited about my tattoo, but as days went on I realized how terrible it actually looks. There are places where it is very dark and places where you can barely see it. I have since gone elsewhere to see about getting it fixed and the tattoo artist actually asked me if I had it professionally done because it doesn't look it. It is supposed to be 3 birds flying off of a dandelion but the birds look more like blobs. Other tattoo artists may be much better at this establishment, but I can only speak for the artist I went to.

I was looking to get my first tattoo and looked at all of the sites in Raleigh (thinking that the best artists would be there) and reviewed their portfolios. I didn't find any work that impressed me. ...
I was looking to get my first tattoo and looked at all of the sites in Raleigh (thinking that the best artists would be there) and reviewed their portfolios. I didn't find any work that impressed me. I decided to look in my back yard (I live in Fuquay-Varina) and found 401 Tattoo. I was REALLY impressed with Jimmy's portfolio and felt that this was the guy. I went in with a mock-up of what I wanted (full color on the upper right arm) and discussed it with him. Knowing nothing about tattoos, he showed me that my original idea was too small and that after time, all tattoos "spread" he enlarged the image but still kept it within my parameters (I'm a professional and didn't want the image peeking below my shirt sleeve). I setup the appointment. and after a five hours session (and some minor touch up a few weeks later), I was done. I'm VERY pleased with the quality of his work as he took my idea and really made it look a lot better. All in all, very pleased. He's a very talented artist and I see myself going back to him in the future to get some more work done.

Marie is magnificent! I was there about 3 weeks ago, and she has excellent customer service skills. She took her time to make sure everything was perfect before starting the tattoo. During the tattoo, she made me feel comfortable and important. She made sure to ask me if I needed a break. Marie was so spectacular that I came back on Thursday for more work. She was outstanding again! Supurb customer service and very patient and caring while doing the tattoo. Marie is an excellent artist that goes above and beyond to make sure her clients are in love with their new art. I'm definitely in love with my new art and I can't wait to come back for more incredible ink. Thank you, Marie for treating me so good and double thanks for the kick ass art!!!

Marie was awesome today. She took the best care of me ever. I sent her my thoughts and she drew it and placed it on the same day. She is very professional and obviously loves what she is doing. She has a great "bedside" manner and cares about the comfort of her clients! I was hesitant to go to a local shop and realize now how shortsighted that was. She will be my artist again soon!

Marie drew my tattoo up and I had it done the next day. Very nice place, clean, great people. Bring cash as of right now they don't take cards so ask how much in advance and bring the cash with you.

I came to Jimmy with an idea that I had been going over for a while myself but lacked the ability to design it. He took what little I could show him and made it better than I had visualized myself. The shop is very clean, the process was easy and professional. I will be going back for more work and will be recommending him to my friends.

I really wanted to be able to leave a better review because my tattoo was meant to symbolize such a significant day in my life.
