I went to Shooting Star based on a reference of Scott's otherwise I would have chosen another shop, seeing as how Fayetteville is filled with tattoo shops. The shop is super clean and the staff is friendly. I asked for Scott to draw a piece on my finger, he explained that they don't do certain parts of the finger (nowhere I was interested in getting my work done), but continued to draw up what I described and we got started. A week later, once it was healed, it looked like a prison tat, very lightly done and barely visible in some places. While I completely understand that hand/foot pieces fade more easily, I wouldn't expect to need a "touch up" a week later. This suggests that it wasn't done properly in the first place. I have work on my foot that is 10 years old and never needed it touched up. I've also contacted many different artists that agreed with my original thinking; not enough ink was used which is why it looked faded after only one week. I contacted Scott and asked if he would redo the piece, he seemed reluctant but agreed. Oddly enough, I couldn't get a hold of him the weekend I was back in town. He contacted me after the shop closed on Sunday, knowing nothing could be done at that point. He seemed hesitant to do the piece in the first place but gladly accepted my money. As an artist, I would assume that he wouldn't want someone walking around with a halfassed piece, that he did, as his art is a reflection/advertisement of him. I've since had to pay another artist, to fix what was done. Needless to say, I wont be going back to Shooting Star or recommending Scott.

I have a piece currently being worked on by Scott at this location. I began my piece in early 2015 and picked up on it again this year. I appreciate and am also impressed the Scott was able pick up where he left off so easily. So far I am in love with how my half sleeve is turning out. He works diligently on each piece while providing decent conversation and even humorous music while you're in the chair :) I highly suggest that you take the time to stop by Shooting Star Tattoo to view each artists work. You will not be disappointed with your decision on this establishment.

Scott took time to talk with me (even though he was fully booked) and explained different options/ideas he thought would work for my specific needs. When I can in for my appointment, he was friendly and accommodating (I got super cold) and and he was willing to work than a more than warm environment that he would have liked. This tattoo took HOURS, and he kept me comfortable and entertained for the full duration of my sitting. I could not be happier with my experience or my results. My husband and I have both been to crappy artist in other states. We decided to go to shooting star and walk in! We asked a million questions looked at portfolios and discussed our ideas with the one artist that was at the front desk and the lady there too. They were very friendly open and honest and also very knowledgeable and informative. They were able to set us up with and appointment for the next day due to a cancellation with the artist of our choosing. Sean was great! ...He was very open to our ideas as well as offered suggestions on what he thought as well as his ideas and brought our tattoos to life! We were simple in what we wanted and it was a great test because we couldn't be happier! My father passed away and it devastated me. His love in life was fishing the awesome waters of upstate New York! So I decided to do his signature with a sinus rhythm and a bass then the words "gone fishing" I left the bass up to Sean and he blew me away with the realistic colors and all! He was very light handed and talked with us thru the whole thing making us vet at ease! The price couldn't be beat. The shop is very clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and very professional! Wanted to get a quick small tattoo done on the spot and these guys were great. Super friendly staff across the board and welcoming from the moment I walked through the door. Professional yet relaxed, I got exactly what I was looking for from Joe who was great to get work from. He was easy to talk to and made me feel at ease with everything and helped with his wealth of knowledge from years of tattooing. Also, he was super quick and the tattoo looks exactly how I wanted. Thin line work and detail looks fantastic. Very happy with my experience here.

Me and my husband both got a somewhat large lettering piece on our ribs here in June. Scott was our artist. Not only was he super personable and professional, but even gave us his personal cell number and helped us pick out a font that was perfect for us. He is very flexible (both me and my husband are active duty and extremely busy). I couldn't be happier with my tattoo! On top of all that, it was reasonably priced for the awesome quality of the experience. I looked at the other artist's portfolios while I was there and didn't see a single person I wouldn't be happy to do my tattoos. I'm actually going today to look around about getting another piece done soon. After ALL the shopping around I did in Fayetteville and surrounding areas, I won't go anywhere else!
Oh and they play some hilarious low budget movies on their TV in the lobby, like Zombie Beavers! Hahahaha. We had a good laugh about that.

I must say they weren't wrong. As soon as you walk in you get a very good and friendly vibe from the place and Artists that work there. Very clean and professional. My artist was Scott and he did an amazing job on my tattoo. I did a lot of research and this place has the best artists in town. I am very pleased with my experience here and will continue to come to Shooting Star for all my future tattoos while I'm in North Carolina.

Great experience! Shop is super clean and the employes are super friendly. Went in after reading reviews to make an appointment, they had an opening and got me right in. I had a picture of what I wanted and in less than 5 minutes, Joe had a design. Now the tricky part... I hate needles. The artist was very patient and worked with me; and in a few minutes it was over. My tattoo is done, it looks great and I'm very happy with the work. 10/10 would go back again. And will be recommending them to everyone

I just wanted to thank shooting star for being amazing. I walked in on a Saturday night knowing that getting a walk in tattoo may be near impossible. The lady at the front desk was super friendly she hooked me up with joe and although he had a client he was still willing to work on me when he was finished with her. I picked out my design while i waited made a phone call smoked a cigarette and he was ready for me. Not only is my tattoo perfect for me but joe was awesome to talk to. My whole experience there was just fantastic. The shop is clean and everyone is friendly! In my opinion this is the place to go. They don't want all your money either like most places I've seen around here. I already have a plan of going back soon to see joe again for my next piece! Being away from home where I got all my tattoos done by the same person gave me anxiety to go anywhere around here bc I did not know a shop or a person and now I've find my tattoo home! This place rocks hands down!

LOCATION: great very easy to find.BUILDING: very clean and up to dateCUSTOMER SERVICE: as soon I walked in I was greetedTATTOO ARTIST: RAY and I spoke about a touch up on my tribal and he gave me the truth about what I should do. He could have hustled me for my cash but he told me the truth about what I needed to do. Instead I talked to him about another design and I walked out with a new tattoo on my calf. PRICE: not cheap and not expensive. Remember you get what you pay for. FOLLOW UP: this was a first for me. No one has ever called me back to see if everything was ok and if I was satisfied with my tattoo. I would recommend this place to everyone.END RESULT: it looks great. Normally right after a freshly done tattoo, it looks nice. It's dark, shiny, colorful, etc.... But after it heals is when you see the true work of the artist. I can say my ink looks very nice.

Was in town for five days and went with a friend while she was getting her tattoo done. Showed them a picture I had been holding on to for the last several months, not expecting them to fit me in. Well, they happened to have a cancellation and fit me in the next day. After 5 1/2 hours in the chair, Ray produced the best tattoo I have ever had done. The amount of skill he has is simply amazing and whatever I choose to get done next, I will definately travel just to see him. This shop is clean, has a welcoming atmosphere, and appreciates and shows their support for those in the military. I recommend to anyone who lives in this area, or is in town and is thinking about getting work done, to stop in here. You won't regret it!

Scott took time to talk with me (even though he was fully booked) and explained different options/ideas he thought would work for my specific needs. When I can in for my appointment, he was friendly and accommodating (I got super cold) and and he was willing to work than a more than warm environment that he would have liked. This tattoo took HOURS, and he kept me comfortable and entertained for the full duration of my sitting. I could not be happier with my experience or my results. My husband and I have both been to crappy artist in other states. We decided to go to shooting star and walk in! We asked a million questions looked at portfolios and discussed our ideas with the one artist that was at the front desk and the lady there too. They were very friendly open and honest and also very knowledgeable and informative. They were able to set us up with and appointment for the next day due to a cancellation with the artist of our choosing. Sean was great! ...He was very open to our ideas as well as offered suggestions on what he thought as well as his ideas and brought our tattoos to life! We were simple in what we wanted and it was a great test because we couldn't be happier! My father passed away and it devastated me. His love in life was fishing the awesome waters of upstate New York! So I decided to do his signature with a sinus rhythm and a bass then the words "gone fishing" I left the bass up to Sean and he blew me away with the realistic colors and all! He was very light handed and talked with us thru the whole thing making us vet at ease! The price couldn't be beat. The shop is very clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and very professional! Wanted to get a quick small tattoo done on the spot and these guys were great. Super friendly staff across the board and welcoming from the moment I walked through the door. Professional yet relaxed, I got exactly what I was looking for from Joe who was great to get work from. He was easy to talk to and made me feel at ease with everything and helped with his wealth of knowledge from years of tattooing. Also, he was super quick and the tattoo looks exactly how I wanted. Thin line work and detail looks fantastic. Very happy with my experience here.

Scott Bloodworth is THE artist to see in Fayetteville!!! This was my first tattoo, and I wanted a rib piece. The entire tattoo took seven hours, and went from bottom of the armpit to my hip. He was careful with detail, efficient, personable, kept things clean, and courteous to first timer needs. He'll be carving on my husband(his ninth tattoo) tomorrow, and I'm SO excited to see it. Current artists are very good at what they do and easy to talk to. This place is very clean and modern looking. Pricing is fair. Veteran owned.

Me and my husband both got a somewhat large lettering piece on our ribs here in June. Scott was our artist. Not only was he super personable and professional, but even gave us his personal cell number and helped us pick out a font that was perfect for us. He is very flexible (both me and my husband are active duty and extremely busy). I couldn't be happier with my tattoo! On top of all that, it was reasonably priced for the awesome quality of the experience. I looked at the other artist's portfolios while I was there and didn't see a single person I wouldn't be happy to do my tattoos. I'm actually going today to look around about getting another piece done soon. After ALL the shopping around I did in Fayetteville and surrounding areas, I won't go anywhere else!
Oh and they play some hilarious low budget movies on their TV in the lobby, like Zombie Beavers! Hahahaha. We had a good laugh about that.

I got my first tattoo on the 23rd of July, 2015. Not my very first tattoo ever, just from Shooting Star. I heard a lot of good things about Shooting Star Tattoo from friends and co-workers. I must say they weren't wrong. As soon as you walk in you get a very good and friendly vibe from the place and Artists that work there. Very clean and professional. My artist was Scott and he did an amazing job on my tattoo. I did a lot of research and this place has the best artists in town. I am very pleased with my experience here and will continue to come to Shooting Star for all my future tattoos while I'm in North Carolina.

Great experience! Shop is super clean and the employes are super friendly. Went in after reading reviews to make an appointment, they had an opening and got me right in. I had a picture of what I wanted and in less than 5 minutes, Joe had a design. Now the tricky part... I hate needles. The artist was very patient and worked with me; and in a few minutes it was over. My tattoo is done, it looks great and I'm very happy with the work. 10/10 would go back again. And will be recommending them to everyone

Went in without an appointment and not expecting to get a piece done that day, walked out an hour later with an excellent tattoo. Very clean and friendly as well. We have PCSed to a new area now and I'm hesitant to get a tattoo anywhere else, might just wait until I can come back to Shooting Star!

I just wanted to thank shooting star for being amazing. I walked in on a Saturday night knowing that getting a walk in tattoo may be near impossible. The lady at the front desk was super friendly she hooked me up with joe and although he had a client he was still willing to work on me when he was finished with her. I picked out my design while i waited made a phone call smoked a cigarette and he was ready for me. Not only is my tattoo perfect for me but joe was awesome to talk to. My whole experience there was just fantastic. The shop is clean and everyone is friendly! In my opinion this is the place to go. They don't want all your money either like most places I've seen around here. I already have a plan of going back soon to see joe again for my next piece! Being away from home where I got all my tattoos done by the same person gave me anxiety to go anywhere around here bc I did not know a shop or a person and now I've find my tattoo home! This place rocks hands down!

He could have hustled me for my cash but he told me the truth about what I needed to do. Instead I talked to him about another design and I walked out with a new tattoo on my calf. PRICE: not cheap and not expensive. Remember you get what you pay for. FOLLOW UP: this was a first for me. No one has ever called me back to see if everything was ok and if I was satisfied with my tattoo. I would recommend this place to everyone.END RESULT: it looks great. Normally right after a freshly done tattoo, it looks nice. It's dark, shiny, colorful, etc.... But after it heals is when you see the true work of the artist. I can say my ink looks very nice.

Was in town for five days and went with a friend while she was getting her tattoo done. Showed them a picture I had been holding on to for the last several months, not expecting them to fit me in. Well, they happened to have a cancellation and fit me in the next day. After 5 1/2 hours in the chair, Ray produced the best tattoo I have ever had done. The amount of skill he has is simply amazing and whatever I choose to get done next, I will definately travel just to see him. This shop is clean, has a welcoming atmosphere, and appreciates and shows their support for those in the military. I recommend to anyone who lives in this area, or is in town and is thinking about getting work done, to stop in here. You won't regret it!
