So me and the nephews were shopping around for a shop and prices... this was the place.  We went to 2 other shops beforehand and I was unsure.. We came in.. Mark gave us the business about what we can and shouldn't do with our tattoo idea, which the other places didn't give af about telling us.. :/ However, he and Mike were tied up with clients so they genuinely referred us to other good people at other shops... we went.. but my mind was made up. THIS was our place.  I felt comfortable knowing these guys were vets in the game, had a lot of knowledge, and communicated with us so easily.  When we came back, perfect timing! Mike squeezed us in and got it done .He didn't get mad too when my nephew came back for a 3rd touchup... he just said "see ya next week!" lol please don't suspend my membership I plan to be back soon. A friend and I went in and got tattoos out of the blue this past saturday. The shop is very professional, clean, and Employees are very easy to work with. I had a beautiful Mother daughter Owl tattoo done and my friend had a pair of boots done. I would definitely drive another 2 hours to get my next one done there. This is definitely the go to spot. They have a couple "bad" reviews due to ignorance, but the girl at the front desk doesn't speak for the work the artists are capable of. Never going anywhere else in town so long as we live here! We've only had experience with Robert but have browsed through all of the artists work and were very pleased. This is the only shop I go to for work! Mark has done numerous tattoos for me and always does stellar work. He's quick and precise, and when it comes to ideas he knows exactly what I want. These dudes are professionals at their trade.  I was greeted as soon as I entered the establishment and was handed portfolios to view as I waited for further assistance.  I told an artist what I wanted, he then explained what would work and not work.  He seemed very knowledgeable within this art form.  I was given another artist's (mike) name and number to contact for the specific piece I wanted.  His customer service was quick and cordial.  Regarding the artwork on the final product it was amazing.  The line work and shading was on point and the use of blank space to create depth was good as well. Danielle,I'm a co-owner of Performance. We're sorry you didn't have the experience you had hoped for at our shop. We've worked hard to build a solid reputation locally for friendliness and customer service but occasionally and unfortunately (your visit as an example) we do slip and sometimes even fall. For that we apologize. As for our receptionist not having tattoos.. that's really not a requirement and, although you didn't see them, she actually has several. We do acknowledge that her job is to be friendly, attentive, help customers and present the portfolios to you so you can make an informed decision. Apparently on the day you were here that wasn't done to our or your standard. That being said, her job is not necessarily to "WOW" you. We are a custom shop and don't have flash or books of designs to offer. What we do have are each artists portfolio. She pointed you toward them and if you had found someone you were interested in being tattooed by she would have had that Tattooer come talk with you. Once again, we regret you had a less than stellar experience here and hope you find a shop you are truly wowed by. We will make corrections with the receptionist and try to take care of the things you felt were shortcomings. This place is amazing. Popped my tattoo virginity here with a guy named Mike Rey & let's just say, I already want to come back for more. Walked in and consulted what I wanted. Mike was very professional and was in my mind because he saw the same image that I saw in my head when it came to my tattoo. It was amazing. Came in when it was ready to get tatted and Mike was so gentle with me. Not to brag but a 4 1/2 tattoo for my first? Yeah, I have no idea how I got through it but Mike always made me feel comfortable. I asked him multiple questions and he answered every single one of them. I probably annoyed him but he was so focused on my tattoo that he probably didn't mind. He's a very funny guy also! Conversations with this guy makes the tattoo time go by super fast. He also tatted my love right after tattooing me. That's 7 hours of tattooing in one day, so I knew he was tired! I knocked out on the couch after I was done. He did amazing work on my tattoo and also my loves tattoo. His staff was funny and friendly also. The place was pretty clean, had AC, lots of customers came pouring in all day long setting up appointments, and have absolutely epic art pieces on their walls. Highly recommend this place if you're in town and looking for a tattoo artist! Mike Rey is his name!  I will most definitely come back for more once I get more ideas :)! Read Less
