So I am not sure how I forgot to post a review, but better late than never! I first contacted Hal after finding his work online while researching artists who did amazing realistic portraits. I was searching for someone to do a VERY special tattoo that meant a lot to me. I had wanted this tattoo for over 10 years but had never really found anyone I liked enough that I felt could do it properly.... I wanted a portrait of my hero from childhood and my hero to this day, Steve Irwin. After contacting Hal via email and meeting with him for a consult, I put down my deposit and scheduled my appt. My first session was 7 hours and the last session was 3. He was very professional, SUPER CLEAN and SANITARY, and worked quickly and beautifully to get the details of the little crocodile that Steve was holding and he also captured the beautiful soul of Steve in his expression. I receive compliments all the time on this piece, and it opens up conversation for me to tell them why I had Steve Irwin tattooed onto me, and also I can continue to spread Steve's message of wildlife conservation and protection. It is a way for me to always have Steve with me on my many wildlife adventures and rescues and a way to continue to keep him alive.
