I was tattooed by Ian back in March of 2018. It was suppose to be a 2 session piece and I never returned for the second session. Ian was super sweet and made me feel very welcomed. But unfortunately he was extremely heavy handed and my tattoo never healed correctly. My tattoo ended up getting infected, and is still scarred and raised almost 10 months later. I contacted ATS to explain that in was not happy with my piece and even went to the shop to show them what was happening to my tattoo and I and was shook off and told that it was because of the way that I wasn't taking care of the tattoo correcduring the healing process. I have over 15 tattoos, and I've NEVER had a problem with the healing process like I did with the tattoo I received ATS. Read Less

I brought my 4 year-old to American Tattoo Society for her birthday to have her ears pierced. The staff was kind, professional and patient as it took a while to talk her into getting the second ear done. The only improvement I could suggest would be doing both ears at the same time. I went in for a quote today for a very simple Roman numeral tattoo, and was quoted $140. I have the exact tattoo I requested already tattooed on me (my daughters were born the same day, 3 years apart, so I was asking for the same tattoo with III after it) I paid $60 for mine in Utah, and was quoted $60-70 at other shops around town. The artists at this shop are definitely more talented than any of the other shops around here, but the price I was quoted was a complete ripoff. I’m super bummed, because I do think the artists do really good work, but for the extremely simple tattoo I want, I don’t think this shop is the right place for me. Read Less

Great place! My artist was Billy and he was awesome. He was super nice and knowledgeable. He was 100% professional during our session. The shop itself is very clean and neat. The place is broken into different sections for tattooing and piercings. They have a nice area in the front for those who are waiting. The front desk staff was very friendly and greeted us right away. It was nice to have a walk in and not wait an hour to be seen. The price was reasonable for what I got. My friend and I went to American tattoo society on a late Saturday night as walk ins. The staff was very accommodating, always checking up on us if we’re okay and if we wanted water. Billy was the artist my friend and I got, and he is awesome. This was my friend’s first tattoo, so she was pretty anxious. But, Billy talked her through it— adjusted whatever that’s needed adjusting in terms of where we wanted our tattoos. They are also aware of the military standards too, so they do offer their suggestions when it comes to proper placement. The price was reasonable to the work that they offer. Billy was very professional— I mean, all of em in there were! Everyone was so friendly and goofy. They made the mood very light and comfy. I went to American Tattoo Society to get my baby's ears pierced. The environment is clean and the ladies at the front were quick to help me. Bri does the piercings so I went to the back with her. She was diligent and patient with me as a first time parent getting baby's ears pierced. In getting the piercings done she was patient with my baby who moves a lot and did the piercings so quick that baby cried for no more than a minute. i got my nose pierced here and this place is some shit. the gem came out of the jewelry less than two weeks of having it in. I was told by the piercer that the jewelry can be changed after 4-6 weeks wellllll went to evolution ink bc they have a much better variety of jewelry for the nostril and the piercer said that the jewelry i had was no good, it was cheap jewelry (figured) and was basically tearing my nose. he also said that i should've waited 90 days so yeah won't be going here anymore.ALSO NEED NEW RECEPTIONIST BC RED HAIR GIRL IS UNPROFESSIONAL. last time i came dis girl was munching on chips loud asf while she was talking to us and also doesn't know much information pertaining to piercings. I love this place! I always have since my first expierence. I got my tongue pierced here before, I got 2 small tattoos for their $22 veteran fundraiser, and I got the top of my ear pieced today. I got a half sleeve from this place a few weeks ago and even though it's pretty good work it is WAY overpriced. 450$ for just an outline and it wasn't even that complex of a tattoo. I've been around to a few others they all have told me they would have charged around 200$. If i had gotten color it would have been about 800$ total. The guy was shaky with some lines and some of the lines are thinner than others. Definitely wasn't worth what I paid. Read Less

Went in for a piercing and I was extremely on edge, but from the moment we cleared the door I was put at ease. The front desk staff was phenomenal and made the consent process easy and informative. She personally had the same piercing that I was in for and she was so open with her experience which helped so much!! Once in the piercing room with Zakk the anxiety re-occurred, but he talked me through the entire process, told me stories to help calm the nerves, and made the entire experience comfortable! This is honestly the only tattoo parlor I will go to. Micah did my first and I am moving this summer but I might just drive 8 hours every time I want a new tat. My husband and I have both gotten a tattoo from here just by two different artist. Both of our experiences were great. My husband went in just to talk to an artist because he had an idea of what he wanted to get but wasn't exactly sure about all the tiny details and shading. His artist redrew his tattoo 4 different times with out any complaints and honestly seemed excited about doing his tattoo. My tattoo artist was a guest artist at the shop. I went in with a picture I had found and wanted the same tattoo that was in the picture just a few minor details changed. The artist did such an amazing job with the flowers I have in my tattoo, every time someone new sees it they always compliment how good it is. I've been seeing Jerry Martin for about 3 years now and he's the absolute best! He's always so patient, especially when you're a wimp like me. He's such a perfectionist in every little detail. He checks in with you in every step of the process to make sure you're comfortable, if you are liking the tattoo, etc. Not only is Jerry the absolute best, but all the staff is great. I love this place. American Tattoo Society is probably the cleanest and most laid back shop in Fayetteville. I have 4 tattoos and Jerry has done 3 of them including my biggest piece to date which takes up the upper left portion of my back (shoulder blade to spine and upper shoulder down to the ribs). The artwork is phenomenal and everyone always asks me to look at it again and again in person and I've gotten nothing but compliments so far (even got a complement from my parents who despise tattoos!). My brother and I came in to get matching tattoos and the whole experience was great. I had called and talked to them before coming in and they helped me get the sizing right and gave me a quote for how much it would cost. When we came in we were immediately greeted by Brandon who then talked to us about our vision for the tattoo. The tattoo was amazing! And even though it was a rib tattoo (which are notoriously painful) Brandon did it in a way that was bearable. The font came out EXACTLY the way I wanted it to and the lines were so clean and sharp even though the lettering was so small.
